  I bought Glacier Pour Homme looking for a clone of the old Le Male, that one with a wet earth scent when dry; unable to find it, I tried a small bottle of the original and confirmed they are identical. Don’t bother buying Le Male, go straight for the Glacier: it smells of powdery lavender and mint at first, then vanilla emerges, leaving vanilla and mint at the end.

  Fresh out of the wrapper, the half-size EDT similar to Le Male is crumpled at the bottom (hold the base firmly). Upon spraying on the wrist, strong vanilla and a bit of alcohol come out initially; then a touch of lavender and mint is noticeable. It’s strange because I don’t recall how the Le Male EDT used to come across, but it reminded me of ten years ago when I owned one and used it up in a month; I bought two bottles back then. The Le Male from that era fascinated me; before that, I used Versace Eros EDT. To cut to the chase: the perfume is very rich, sweet due to the excess of vanilla and perhaps cardamom. Perhaps it lacks a bit of ‘maceration’; there’s little mint (noticeable, but in lesser quantity) and nothing citrusy. It’s true that it has that earthy aroma. It’s a good perfume for the price of this Le Male dupe; after 20 minutes, it feels better and you notice the notes more. I don’t recall exactly what I wore ten years ago; I would need one to compare with a current bottle. I recommend it for the price and because it escapes everything out there; it’s different and a good scent. Hope to add my experience. Regards.

  If the Le Male is considered boring or not recommended today, I can’t imagine the dupe is any different; given the price, it’s worth trying.

  Perfectly clones the new Le Male versions; I own both and confirm they are identical in scent and projection. I certainly won’t return to the original; this will be my safe purchase: 9/10.

  This fragrance revolutionised perfumery and remains relevant to this day; it’s no longer the top pick, but without a doubt, it’s a rich scent. For around 500 Mexican pesos, it’s absolutely worth it; it’s very similar, if not identical, to what you can find today in a Le Male (scent, longevity, trail, etc.). The downside is that the other Glaciers aren’t as accurate as this one.

  I’d take both: this one for casual wear or gifts, and the original for nights out or dates. This has less mint and is more linear; the Glacier lacks that effect which highlights the masculine skin scent during dry-down, like the original Le Male. It’s sweeter and swaps caraway for cumin, which some might find less appealing. But is it worth paying ten times more at retail for the original? That’s up to you. For me, yes, in terms of scent, projection, and longevity. If it were up to me, I’d prefer a decant of the original or its 125ml version during a mega sale. I recommend the Glacier to get an idea of what the original Le Male is like, as if you like this, you’ll adore the JPG, and the 30ml size is brilliant for carrying in your bag.
