Descripción

Ispazon by Parfums de Marly is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by perfumer Jacques Flori. The olfactory pyramid opens with top notes of laurel leaf, thyme, orange, lime, and Amalfi lemon; the heart reveals Virginia cedar and valley lily; and the base settles on musk, amber, and vanilla.

  • Ispazon is an oriental woody fragrance with a transparent soul and a bold character. As is typical with Parfums de Marly, they use top-quality extracts, and it really shows here. The opening is intense: white wood saturated with laurel, thyme, and amber. Notes of vanilla and lily add a dry, transparent, aquatic effect, which is the signature of this scent; its luminous bursts last over 10 hours. However, despite the extremely high quality, these aromas have already been explored in the designer world, so Ispazon offers little originality or novelty. After three hours, it has a good presence and is ideal for hot, humid places, but its linearity and lack of development may appeal to some while boring those seeking more aromatic dimension; it could wear out quickly. Personally, I like its style, but that linearity takes a lot away. It seems to be the brand’s answer to combat the ‘maremagnum’ of Aventus. Good quality and performance, but the price-to-scent ratio keeps it off my niche list. Recommended test.

Smells like a country day in any corner of the Mediterranean: starts with a dominant laurel and a touch of spice, blended with subtle citrus notes. After an hour, it becomes woody and subtly sweetened, which is exactly what sets Parfums de Marly apart: subtlety and sophistication. It’s not for everyone, but if you love the classics and laurel, it’s a gem. The best thing is its longevity in heat; it’s incredible that a fresh scent lasts 12 hours or more and clings to clothes even after washing. I wouldn’t buy it for 200 euros, but if you catch it on offer, like on Black Friday for 118 euros, I wouldn’t think twice. It’s original because it’s discontinued; almost no one owns it, it smells great and lasts a long time. At that price, 125 ml is a gift, especially if you’re a fan of the house. It’s worth it if you can get it at half the price of a Herod or a Percival; at the original price, not so much, but it might be worth it for others. In short, it’s a very good perfume.
