  • Love at first sniff. Subtle yet very long-lasting aroma. A blend of iris and resins that, while not standout, stays in the background sending delightful bursts. It’s quite flat in evolution, but I love it. I see it as totally unisex, for any season and situation, elegant and non-intrusive. It goes straight into my top ten favourites. Although I don’t mind much, I must mention the presentation: the bottle is beautiful down to the last detail and the box is a marvel. If you gift this, you’ll be like a king 😉 Scent: 10 Longevity: 9 Sillage: 7 Value for money: 6 Versatility: 8 Originality: 8 Overall: 9

Bahrein Khol is an Arab fragrance with super elegant Parisian touches. The composition is so perfect it smells like incensed white chocolate. Sweet in just the right measure, with a slight touch of makeup. I love it, but I feel it lacks punch, as if it’s incomplete ☹️. I’ve had it soaked into my wrist for hours and seem to be waking up with it, and I’m delighted, but it has very low sillage, almost intimate. Very versatile and unisex. I’d melt if my partner smelled like Khol. This is truly an iris that knocks your socks off.

  • I had slightly high expectations for this fragrance. The vast majority (8 people) at work commented that it smelled like Mennel baby towels, and if it’s similar at first, once it dries down it turns into a scent reminiscent of Dior Homme Intense, comparing in that smell to makeup. As for longevity, I got 8 hours… projecting well for the first two.

Bought without testing, mistake. A real letdown!! It’s pure amber… and amber and more amber. With iris and violet, I imagined something sweeter like Guerlain Insolence… but what a nose I have. If you’ve heard Alisa Ashley’s Amber at John Lewis, you’ve heard this. The bottle comes to around $150; I’m not sure if I’ll gift it because amber isn’t a taste for everyone. The longevity is good, it soaks into the hair and reaches bursts throughout the day… she’s there with her amber blasts. And more amber… I don’t see how sexy this ingredient is. In short: buh..🥴

  • Bahrein Khol is a masterpiece: it opens salty with plenty of Peru balsam, as if rubbing a dry log after the sea with a lemon and assorted fruit rinse. Over time, everything settles into a balsamic ambergris base with sweet sparkles that soften that alpha blend. Then the iris emerges, taking centre stage like a magical floral powder that integrates and transforms everything, creating a singular, ambered and balsamic scent with salty, fruity notes and a veil of relaxing, delicate powdery flowers. Performance is great for the first hour, moderate for two or three more, lasting around 8 hours and holding up well. It’s perfect for unisex wear, though I lean towards it being more masculine and for special occasions.
