  • It caught me off guard when I tested it on dry skin and on skin, and I bought it instantly. What I love most is its evolution and quality, speaking of my skin. The opening is incense-heavy, flooding me with frankincense, then it fades to leave a very distant LVEB touch; if there is iris or rose, they are imperceptible here. Instead, I sense a delicious praline, like a freshly baked cookie, nothing cloying or patchouli-like. As it dries, a very wearable oud appears, with no animalic notes. It’s playful and elegant, ideal for evening and special occasions in autumn and winter. Longevity: over 8 hours, with a wide-to-moderate sillage. Quality and packaging are top-notch.

  • The opening is the most original of all: dark, wintry, with a potent Oud and a dense citrus touch. The incense shines, but with a powdery iris nuance. At first, it doesn’t smell like LVEB, but after an hour, you notice it, maintaining that almost Arab woody base. I love it: it’s opulent, dresses you up, and steers clear of the usual sweetness. After a week, it remains dry and tenacious, a delicious woody scent without the typical patchouli. Maximum longevity. If you don’t like the original or its flankers, give it a try; it deviates significantly.

  • I was surprised from the start; I tested it on dry skin and on skin, and bought it immediately. What I like most is its evolution and quality. The opening is very incense-heavy, flooding me with frankincense; then it fades to reveal a very distant LVEB touch. If there is iris or rose, they are imperceptible on me. In its mid-phase, I sense a delicious praline like a freshly baked cookie, nothing cloying or patchouli-like. Finally, the oud emerges, very wearable and without any animalic notes. It’s playful, elegant, perfect for evening and autumn/winter. Lasts over 8 hours with a wide sillage. Quality and packaging are top-notch.

  • It’s noticeable that it’s different from the classic LVEB. On my skin, the incense dominates the opening before changing into something talc-like, very similar to absolute iris (be careful with the sprays if you don’t want it to weigh you down). After 15 minutes, that sweet oud is felt. I adore the rose gold bottle and its use for special events; I think it’s elegant.

  • It’s not the classic LVEB; on my skin, the incense comes out strong before shifting into something talc-like, very similar to Iris Absolu (be careful with the sprays if you don’t want it to weigh you down). After 15 minutes, the sweet oud is noticeable. I love the rose gold bottle; it’s ideal for special occasions and very elegant.

  • Exquisite, so powerful… a very ‘orientalised’, nocturnal and enigmatic version of the classic. It’s worth trying and giving it a chance on your skin; it’s an LVEB for the brave who want to attract attention without seeking it. If you like Oud Bouquet from the same house, you will love this.

  • Exquisite and potent, a nocturnal and enigmatic, highly orientalised version of the classic. It’s worth trying and letting it do its work on your skin; it’s a La Vie Estelle Belle for the brave who want to attract attention without seeking it. If you like the Oud Bouquet from the same house, you will love this.

  • I tried it this afternoon and went crazy… it’s wonderful, a powerful and vivid scent like vintage lipstick, I suppose the combo of red fruits and iris achieves that effect. Obviously the oud is there, providing a heavy base that gives it presence. You have to be very elegant and made-up to wear it as it deserves. For me, it has nothing of the mother perfume. I will buy it at some point, although it’s very expensive, I think it deserves it.

Well, this extrait of La Vie Est Belle pleasantly surprised me. I hadn’t tried any flanker except the original and the Intense sans gloire, and seeing its iridescent gold bottle caught my attention. It opens dark (not strong) with a hint of oud bouquet without saffron, developing slowly until it resembles Velvet Rose by Joe Malone more. The opening of woody oud with incense lasts about 2 hours, until it mixes with a perceptible lip-like iris, finishing with a dry down of pleasant and potent fruity notes. Certainly, it will surprise many looking for something similar to the original, but it’s worth it. It has personality and although it doesn’t invent anything new for those immersed in niche, it’s a risky and very oriental bet for a commercial fragrance. It’s a good price in 30 and 50 ml, but I feel they will discontinue it quickly. Good proposal from Lancôme. I liked it quite a bit and maybe I’ll take the 30 ml.

  • Without exaggerating, on my nose it gave a circuit breaker ☠️. It only smells of oud wood, to put it mildly, freshly sanded wood. No trace of the other notes. I’ve never liked the LVEB line, but this one only suits you if you want to be a tree 🪵.

  • Without exaggerating, my nose gave it a circuit breaker when smelling this. It only smells of wood and oud, to say it doesn’t smell like ‘Pronto clean wood’. Not a trace of the other listed notes. I never liked the La Vie Est Belle line, but this one only suits you if you want to be a tree.

  • I tried it this afternoon and went crazy… it’s wonderful, a powerful and vivid vintage lipstick scent. I suppose the combination of red fruits and iris creates that effect. Obviously, the oud is there, providing a heavy base that gives it great presence. You need to be very elegant and made up to wear it as it deserves. For me, it has nothing to do with the mother perfume. I will buy it at some point, although it’s very expensive; I think it’s worth it.

They tried to cram in a mega trendy oud, but chose La Vie Est Belle, a failure in my opinion. In the end, it’s neither one nor the other; it settles on a strong, hard-to-distinguish wood scent until it disappears by magic, revealing the perfume everyone knows. It has good longevity; you have to shower to remove it. I don’t recommend buying it blind or as a Christmas gift.

  • Not being a big fan of La Vie Est Belle myself, I was gifted a decant of LVEB L’Extrait and wanted to try it. At first, I liked it, noting a woody aroma and that LVEB DNA peeking out little by little… Then, half an hour later, the disappointment: it smells like LVEB but stronger, with a woody touch that doesn’t suit me. I wore it to work and suffered for the first two hours due to its potency. The problem is that I don’t like LVEB. In conclusion: the perfume isn’t bad, but I don’t see much difference from the original.

  • Summary: Opening like My Way Parfum with steroids, heart like Dior Homme Intense, base like La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu. I expected something else. I liked it only 50% due to the performance, knowing that I adore Dior Homme Intense. Its downside: an exorbitant price for a commercial fragrance. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Summed up in three moments: Opening My Way Parfum with steroids, heart Dior Homme Intense, and base La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu. I expected something else. I liked it 50% just for the performance, considering I adore Dior Homme Intense. Its downside is the exorbitant price for a commercial fragrance. I wouldn’t buy it.

Of all the LVEB scents, this has the worst opening on my nose: citrusy and bitter, perhaps due to the incense with bergamot? The dry down improves a little, resembling Iris Absolu, but I still notice that initial bitterness. It’s an extrait, the least sweet of all the flankers and the one that resembles the EDP the least, curious. It faded in 2-3 hours, poor performance. NO.

  • Bought it blind and it has already arrived. I love it! The iris is superbly balanced, nothing overpowering (thank goodness). It has the classic LVEB DNA but darker, more of a winter vibe. The oud is very noticeable from the start through to dry down. It comes out with the LVEB classic base and oud; as it dries, the incense and red fruits appear. The iris and rose accompany without stealing from the oud. Ideal for autumn and winter. Can’t wait for the cold to try its trail and longevity 👏🏻🥰

  • ViceCity990

Starts with a dense, earthy iris, full of character and far from the usual. I felt it was totally unisex and I absolutely loved it.

Oh please, no. The bottle is gorgeous. I give credit to Lancôme for making something different, but it has nothing to do with La Vie Est Belle. It should have been another perfume, not a flanker. It’s iris and more iris with oud. It smells like an old piece of furniture full of half-used lipsticks. No, no.

  • soledadbt

Oh, please, no. The bottle is beautiful, but Lancôme has nothing to do with the original La Vie Est Belle. It should have been a different fragrance, not a flanker. It smells of iris and more iris with oud, like an old piece of furniture full of lipstick stains. No, thanks.

  • When I decided not to buy for a while I tried this perfume, what madness. On my skin I think of cinnamon, in excess. It blew my mind. I don’t feel the DNA of the traditional one.

  • I bought it blind and it was a huge mistake. I thought it resembled the original La Vie Est Belle, second mistake. On my skin it was awful; I had to gift it after using it once. You must try it before buying.

  • It smells of iris and freshly varnished old wood. There’s nothing more. I agree it should have been another perfume and not a flanker of La Vie Est Belle. I applaud Lancôme for creating something distinct and the bottle is beautiful, but I find the perfume horrible. I wore it on my skin for hours and it gave me a terrible migraine. It didn’t come off even after showering. Not for me.

  • It smells of iris and freshly varnished old wood. That’s all there is. I agree it should have been a different fragrance, not a flanker for La Vie Est Belle. I applaud Lancôme for the bottle, but the scent is HORRIBLE. It gave me a migraine after hours on my skin and wouldn’t wash off even with a shower. Not for me.

  • I bought this blindly and it was a complete fiasco; it doesn’t even come close to the original La Vie Est Belle. On my skin, it smells awful, so I’ll be giving it away after one use. Be warned: always test before buying.

  • First impression: makeup scent (literally 💄🫠). I expected something more revealing. I love oud, but with all that accompaniment, no. It’s one of those perfumes I can’t give a chance; it’s not my style.

  • It’s different, woody, intense and very long-lasting (more than 12 hours on skin, it lasts the night); it doesn’t follow sweet trends and doesn’t resemble the original La Vie Est Belle; it deserved its own name. I love it.

  • I like it. It’s not novel, but it’s not identical to everything else. Oud in commercial fragrances is rare; for many it smells old just for the first few seconds, but I like it because it smells like talc and I love iris. I detect it immediately, just like in Givenchy’s Gentleman Réserve Privée, which others say sounds old. Once dried down it softens and no longer smells so vintage. It’s an extract and the longevity doesn’t seem enormous to me, nor the projection, although perhaps that’s just my impression.

  • Suspiciously cheap, and influencers were selling it as the best. Now I understand why: it smells like old makeup, powder, and lipsticks from 40 years ago, mixed with old, damp wood. Plus, it lasts for thousands of hours. For me, it’s a resounding no. Perhaps it’s good for oud lovers, but I recommend trying it before buying.

  • What an incredible perfume. It hurts that they no longer sell it. The oud is very present, but it’s a sweet oud, as if it were sugared.

  • I absolutely love it! It’s a beast. I tested it after work, showered, slept, and the next day it was still on my wrist like a bomb. I know it’s pricey, but it’s worth every penny. I thought it would be a bitter, earthy oud, but I was wrong: it smells like expensive, creamy lipstick. Once dried down, it leaves a sweet, velvety oud with rose and iris notes. It’s not for those seeking an identical flanker to the classic, as it smells totally different and has huge personality. It’s my favourite perfume, what a shame they discontinued it; I already have backups for when the original runs out. In a word: perfect.
