  A Nuit a Doha surprises you because it doesn’t smell like what the notes promise. Seeing tobacco and vanilla, one expects something like Tobacco Vanille, very clichéd, but it has nothing to do with it. It begins with dry, syrupy lily-of-the-valley and a touch of candied fruit, like an orange dessert. Gradually it becomes creamy and sweet, but not excessive or cloying, just right. The tobacco and vetiver are hard to pinpoint, though they are listed. The heart is a blend of maple syrup, vanilla, and that syrupy lily-of-the-valley with candied fruits; very pleasant. Longevity is very good, but projection fails: you only smell it if you get close, although it lasts all day on the skin. It’s for cold climates, unisex but with a slight feminine lean. It’s pricey (over 2 euros per ml) and the weak projection can be discouraging, but as a scent, it’s a curious and well-executed gourmand that has convinced me.

It begins with dry, syrupy immortelle, with a hint of candied fruit, like an orange dessert. Gradually it becomes creamy and sweet, but not excessive or cloying, just right. The tobacco and vetiver are hard to pinpoint, although they are listed. The heart is a blend of maple syrup, vanilla, and that boozy immortelle with candied fruits; very pleasant. Longevity is very good, but the projection fails: you only smell it if you get close, although it lasts all day on the skin. It’s for cold climates, unisex but with a slight feminine lean. It’s pricey (over two euros per ml) and the weak projection can be discouraging, but as a scent, it’s a curious and well-executed gourmand that has won me over.

  Managed to grab a bottle at a great price, and the evolution is brilliant: the opening is sweet but not cloying, featuring dry lily-of-the-valley and a fruity touch as oscarsh86 mentions. It smells super original, nothing like anything I’ve smelled before. As it dries down, while I like it, it clashes quite a bit with my Serge Lutens Arabie; despite the different notes, the dry-down is almost identical. Moderate performance: lasts quite a while but projects little. I see it as ideal for daily wear on cool days and it’s totally unisex. Scent: 8, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 7, Overall: 8.
