If you like a characterful, vintage and aromatic scent, this is for you. At first, it smells very green and spicy. Then, as it settles on the skin, ginger, basil, geranium and a touch of oakmoss become clear, giving a leather and amber sensation. In the mid-phase, the periwinkle and patchouli appear, adding an earthy note. I don’t get the blackcurrant or vetiver, perhaps because the geranium masks them, but that gives it its dark touch. It’s a rounded, mature and dark fragrance. It reminds me a lot of Nishane’s Anutaman; there are similarities, but Vaadhoo is a bit brighter and fits a more avant-garde style. I see it as all-year-round, except in extreme heat. It’s not super versatile, but it works for evenings, afternoons and nights. Perhaps not for the office if worn generously. With five sprays, it lasts ten hours: two strong ones at the start, then dropping to a pleasant personal bubble. Good trail and longevity, ideal for formal or semi-formal wear, leaning towards masculine. Scent 8/10, Trail 9/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Projection 8.5/10.
What does this smell like? Ginger with basil and periwinkle over a woody base. It’s not very original; it reminds me of others, but with clear differences: here, an exceptional quality is noticeable. It’s green, fresh, elegant and refined. Very versatile, for both everyday wear and special occasions; it suits winter and summer thanks to its freshness and woody base. It has good performance and trail, without standing out too much. In short, I liked it, but the problem is its high price; I’m not sure if it’s worth it given there are similar, cheaper alternatives, although in my opinion they are of lower quality.
An exquisite fragrance. Although it’s listed as unisex, I think it suits men better; on a male pH it unfolds great sensuality. I feel it’s thirty-something, for warm climates (though it wouldn’t go amiss in winter either) and relaxed. The scent reminds me of beautiful Mediterranean beaches in summer. A little sweet, without being gourmand; it’s a more floral and botanical sweetness, with a wonderful creaminess that wraps around very masculine and elegant woods. I consider it not a mass-pleaser, but I wish scents like this became more popular. The man wearing it will receive compliments from both women and men (as my husband confessed to me).
Lovely fragrance. While testing it, I knew it reminded me of something familiar; and yes, risking sounding mad, I compared it side by side with Gres’s Piece Unique. Despite not considering them clones, they seem similar to my nose; besides, they share notes and style: spicy and piquant opening, floral heart and patchouli base in this one, and musky in the PU. I think it’s a good unisex alternative at a laughable price compared to Vaadhoo.
