For those of us who thought patchouli was an anachronism, a thing of the past, with its hippie shops, its ambers, and its silver rings, this has been a slap in the face. Majestic, classic but modern, deep. It’s for confident people who don’t let themselves be influenced by fads or nonsense. It’s patchouli through and through, but refined, elegant, chocolatey, and balsamic. Slightly green and spicy, with the geranium and that ‘buttery’ iris, it elevates to another level. It lasts as long as it’s not written to. Look, if you don’t like the note, you’ll find it hard to like it, but if you come across it by chance, give it a try. You’ll finish the small bottle in your next life.

Hello. It has an intense patchouli opening, but then a magnificent, powdery, and clean iris takes over. If it were called Essence of Iris instead of Essence of Patchouli, it wouldn’t be diminished, in my humble opinion. Finally, it smells like an amber accord. I’ve loved this perfume; highly recommended.

This patchouli from PERRIS Montecarlo is a beast. Although the floral and musky base is noticeable, the patchouli rules. It smells potent, lasts a long time, and leaves a just right trail. I’m not a fan of patchouli, so I wouldn’t invest all my money in it, but the quality is top. If you have a grudge against patchouli, forget it, but if you love it, it’s a resounding yes. Scent: 7, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 7, Value for money: 6, Versatility: 10, Overall: 8.
