I discovered my future favourite in a niche store. That blend of oud, woods and fruits is delicious, long-lasting and different. Brilliant. Scent 10, Longevity 9, Sillage 8, Value for money 8, Versatility 9, Overall 9. Update: I read it was the same as the Alyssa Ashley brand and identical to the Oud Por Elle, so I regretted it a bit. Did I pay for something worth £30? But today I tried the Oud Piura Elle and there’s no comparison. They don’t resemble each other at all. I reaffirm that I made a good purchase.

These fragrances leave me marked as busy. Complex and divine, ethereal and carnal. Rough opening with rose, iris and orange blossom that overwhelms without revealing what’s coming. As it dries, the oud, vanilla and apricot emerge, recalling the Oud After Dark by Amouroud by 60%. The difference is that this lacks the suede touch that sweetens the former. In short, for those seeking complex, dark, enigmatic or gothic perfumes, you’ll go wild. I ended up stroking my wrist. Recommended for cold weather or night. Scent 9/10, Sillage 8.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Projection 9/10.

  • Am I the only one who sees a certain resemblance to the Rosendo Mateu 5 without the rubbery touch?

  • I bought it blind, which you shouldn’t do. I chose it based on the notes and the good price on Notino. On skin, I only detect strong synthetic rubber like Barbie, so overpowering it masks everything. On the Rosendo Mateu 5, that rubbery accord is more pleasant and blended with flowers and vanilla. I’ll test it over more days, but for now it’s not what I expected. Edit: after giving it time, I’m liking it more and see it’s interesting. Don’t judge by first impressions.

  • Total fetish. Ethereal, intriguing, warm and sublime. A bastard brother to the Rosendo Mateu N5, a hidden gem. Short duration for the price, but what the hell, I reapply and the pleasure continues, just like with any hard drug.

It’s a clone of Argos’ Triumph of Baco, identical to 98%. It smells boozy, fruity, sexy and deep. Very rich. I won’t buy it as I already own the original, which is more expensive, but this is worth it.

@samucel87 The Triumph of Bacchus is from 2019, the Bois d’Oud from 2012… it’s impossible for this to be a clone of the Argos.

It’s a proper clone of the Triumph of Bacchus by Argos. They’re identical at 98%. Intoxicating, fruity, sexy and complex aroma. Very rich. I’m not buying it as I already own the original (much more expensive), but this is definitely worth it.

Distinct scent; to me it smells like plastic dolls with plums, yet it’s elegant and addictive. Under £100 and it’s brilliant. Lasts 6-7 hours with moderate projection.
