A good perfume if you like sweet aromas. For me, it’s sweet and mature, perhaps due to the plum note which reminds me of more mature perfumes. I categorise it for autumn-winter; it’s too strong for high temperatures. It can be worn during the day, at night, and on semi-formal occasions due to its certain class. The trail is about three hours and longevity is 6-7 hours, although on clothes it can last up to half a day. It smells of red berries with plum, bathed in chocolatey praline with a patchouli coating. The floral and cashmere notes aren’t very noticeable. It’s a sweet, chocolatey, mature fruity scent. The plum note isn’t my favourite, so I wouldn’t buy it again, but I do recommend it for the sweet scent, longevity, and good trail.
Totally disappointing. Both the name and the aggressive aesthetic of the bottle promised personality and intensity, but I found something vulgar, without character, and with such poor longevity I thought it might be faulty.
I received it as a gift and liked it, although perhaps I would have left it in the shop if I’d heard about it beforehand (or not, the price is decent). It smells sweet without being cloying. After a few minutes, the red berries emerge, which I worried about as some remind me of cough syrup, but this smells lovely. The strongest scent loses its force quickly; the final dry down in half an hour didn’t drive me mad. I must continue to test it. It’s a good gift, the price-to-quality ratio is good, and the bottle is lovely; it doesn’t seem vulgar to me. If you’re looking for a great trail, forget it. I’ve been wearing it for hours and still smell it, but I have to bring it close to my wrist. If perfumes don’t last for you, think twice. Or, if the price appeals to you, it’s ideal for those days when you don’t want to use your favourites. PS: I don’t sense a similarity with La Vie Est Belle, but my mum says there is, and after more than ten hours, she insists it smells very much alike. I’m starting to like it.
It was an impulsive online purchase without knowing what to expect; I saw very good reviews alongside some very negative ones. I was intrigued by comments calling it Katy Perry’s most ‘mature’ fragrance and different from her others, so I took a risk. I liked it, though it didn’t blow me away. The praline and patchouli combination is good; I don’t sense it as a fragrance for ‘mature’ people, nor do I think a 12-15 year old would love it as it lacks the intense sweetness of Britney’s scents. At first spray, the patchouli is very strong and lingers, which can be off-putting. Although intense, it doesn’t smell cloying, but it might not work in warm climates. I perceive it more as fruity-floral with a slight sweet touch and an intense patchouli giving it a ‘green’ air. I’m not sure if it does justice to the name ‘Killer Queen’ as it doesn’t make people ask ‘Wow! What is this scent?’, but it works and lasts quite a while. I’m not sure if I’d recommend it or buy it again; I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly like I did unless you have experience with patchouli. If you’re looking for something sweet, this definitely isn’t it; Katy Perry has sweeter options for a safe purchase. Killer Queen is for those who like floral-green scents and want to experiment with something different and sweet.
Killer Queen by Katy Perry boasts one of the most beautiful and original bottles in my collection. It’s rich, sweet, enveloping, and seductive! I fell in love at the first spray. It opens with plum, bergamot, and red berries; then Sambac jasmine, frangipani, and celosia emerge, giving it an exquisite floral touch. The dry down is praline-musked, with cashmere and patchouli. The patchouli isn’t overpowering as one might expect; it’s there but light, without any talcum powder scent. The trail is moderate and longevity is around eight hours on skin. Created by Laurent Le Guernec at IFF. Carrying the small spray in my handbag doesn’t bother me at all. I wear it in cool weather and it feels warm. Although it’s affordable, it smells like a luxury perfume. It’s perfect for lovers of sweet and gourmand scents: playful, sophisticated, potent, and delicious! The bottle is a jewel, a red ruby worthy of collection.
Sweet but not cloying. It smells of red fruits and chocolate, with a mature touch. I love the trail it leaves on clothes, although it doesn’t last as long on my skin as I’d like. The bottle is beautiful. Scent 7/10, longevity 6/10, sillage 6/10, value for money 6/10, versatility 8/10, and packaging 10/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
To be honest, I don’t understand why people say it smells like Flower Bomb or La Vie Est Belle. I own all three and they are completely different. Killer Queen does have a hint of Black Opium EDP: something boozy, chocolatey, with an indefinable red fruit note. The world of scents is infinite; I’ll never think those three smell the same.
At first, it smells lovely, comes in a pretty bottle, and leaves a nice trail, but on my skin it doesn’t last more than an hour. The scent lingers in the air, but nothing remains on the clothes. I’d only recommend it if you’re looking for a body mist that smells like an expensive perfume.
It reminds me a lot of Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, only this one is more woody. It smells good, for winter. It seems it won’t last long on the skin. I’ve just bought it and can’t say much yet. It’s okay if you find it cheap, like I did at £13. Average, I suppose.
Flower Bomb is another level: fine, elegant and refined. This one, on the other hand, is more ordinary; the price gives it away, it seems to use cheap ingredients. It has nothing to do with La Vie Est Belle, it’s like comparing watermelon to kiwi.
Royal Revolution suits me better than Killer Queen. It smells very woody, it’s potent, and frankly, I’m not really taken with perfumes that heavy-bodied.
Many compare it to La Vie Est Belle, Flowerbomb or Bonbon, but the one it resembles most is the Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. It has an excellent trail at the start, you can feel it a few metres away, but it gradually fades until it becomes discreet; only those who get close will smell it. The longevity is very good, which can be confusing: as it loses its trail, it gives the sensation of not wearing perfume at all. The sweetness of Killer Queen is like having dark rum gummy bears, but it still smells like perfume. I love it. The bottle is incredible: thick glass, details on the cap, everything very well executed to be a celebrity scent, giving a designer feel (be careful with the cap plaque, it’s fragile).
NOTE: to know if the opinions are accurate, you need to research a bit about the collections of those who review and see the level of perfumes they use; that defines their suitability for judging aromas.
I bought it blindly and got it right. I let myself be guided by the reviews and it was the correct choice. I didn’t think it would be so similar to Flowerbomb, but it is, with the quality of a celebrity perfume. Recommended!
Updating my review: as the days pass, I perceive more merits. It was a blind buy and I find it pleasant. On my skin, the trail is soft and the longevity acceptable (around 8 hours). I notice red fruits, a pleasant alcohol, and then the sweetness of the praline which is cheerful and warm. It’s for daytime use; it doesn’t cloy or feel aggressive. At first, it seemed not very special, but with time I like it more; close to the skin it lasts over 12 hours. The bottle is lovely, it’s winning me over, and I probably would buy it again for the quality-price ratio.
I’m glad to see so many reviews because I feel he isn’t talked about enough. To me, it’s a cheap perfume that smells expensive, nothing simple like a celebrity scent. At first, I notice the bergamot (not too strong) with patchouli (not invasive) and praline harmonising with ripe red fruits and cashmere. From the start, it’s sweet because the praline isn’t discreet. In the heart, sambac jasmine and celosia appear as the bergamot fades and the cashmere rises. The base leaves that darkened floral surrounded by ripe berry fruits and the sweetness of praline, all wrapped in cashmere with a very harmonious patchouli. It’s a warm fragrance, with attitude, sensual and mysterious.
Another failed blind buy… I let myself be swayed by the good reviews and that it’s a floral-fruity gourmand. The reality is that it has none of that on my nose and on the noses of two others; the notes are potent and offensive. Although the trail isn’t super strong, you have to be an arm’s length away to tolerate it. If it has sweet notes, I only like the opening because it’s fresh and sweet (it reminds me of my beloved La Vie Est Belle but less potent). Once it settles, only a dark woody note remains. I think it would suit mature women looking for strong, less sweet scents. I’ll keep trying it, hoping my nose gets used to it.
Very heavy, somewhat similar to La Vie Est Belle, but if the mother doesn’t like it, the daughter certainly won’t either. The longevity is moderate to high on my skin, even though I don’t like it. None of my friends approved of it, so it was hard for me to part with or sell it. Finally, I’ve moved on.
It has nothing to do with Flowerbomb or La Vie Est Belle. Killer Queen is red fruits, patchouli, praline, and woods. There’s about a 30% similarity to La Vie Est Belle or Flowerbomb, but that’s all. The opening is pure red fruits and patchouli; the praline is there but not noticeable enough. Once it settles, it’s sweet and well-woody. The trail is soft and the longevity is weak. Of Katy’s range, I prefer Meow and Purr. I don’t like it and wouldn’t buy it again, although the bottle is gorgeous.
I bought this blindly in summer and it was a mistake, but on cool days or when it’s raining, it’s a total delight. It smells expensive yet is cheap; I absolutely love wearing it on cloudy days. At first, you only catch the bergamot, then the red fruits explode with patchouli (not overpowering) and praline. As it dries down, there’s a woody yet creamy touch. It’s a far cry from typical celebrity perfumes. My son adores it; he says it smells like a chocolate factory and he’s right, though if he didn’t declare it, it would smell like chocolate liqueur. The longevity is brutal, lasting around 10 hours on skin and clothes, with good projection and trail.
The aroma at first is strong, with lots of alcohol and patchouli, if you don’t like that note then I recommend you stay away because it’s quite marked and permanent. Once it fixes it smells like a woody liquor, slightly sweet and with chocolate tinges, the patchouli gives it a ‘wet’ look, really fixes delicious although it cost me a lot to appreciate it. I find it interesting as it comes out of the classic celebrity, although it was that very thing that kept me away for a long time, simply, it smells different, it has another personality. Don’t buy it blindly and don’t do as I did by comparing it to the Meow and Purr kittens because they have nothing to do with this perfume at all. I think it looks very good in summer and spring because the phases of the scent are distinguished better, which is more nocturnal and has its sensual touch. It doesn’t have great longevity but for the price it has it’s more than well. I think it may please girls +20 more.
I bought it blindly, I couldn’t resist its laughable price, 11,000 Chilean pesos (15 dollars) and when I received it my reaction was type… WOW, this isn’t what I expected… and likewise, I fell in love. Killer Queen is very pretty, and it’s pretty due to its convenient price, its lovely bottle and because it doesn’t seem like a celebrity perfume, not at all. It moves away from all sugar bombs, here I feel liquor, berries and humidity… delicious, warm, sensual and intimate, once fixed on the skin it mixes in a super natural and appetising way, leaving a sweet woody scent right on the skin and I think only then can I recognise the praline. It’s beautiful. It’s recommended for autumn and winter in cold climates and not humid, my country is temperate and I’m using it on the freshest days of summer or the nights… it works super well. Finally, try it if you can! And also say that I don’t find it resembles La Vie Est Belle… I find no common point, this is much more creamy and soft and definitely less sugary, as for Flowerbomb, I don’t know, I don’t know it.
It lasts nothing. I bought it expecting something else but frankly it’s been a waste of money… it even smells generic.
Sweet and fruity perfume for cold days or nights, I liked it a lot because it offers more than it costs, it doesn’t seem like a celebrity perfume. On my skin it smells very sensual with its red berries and has a touch of dark tinge. Fortunately I bought the tester for about 10 dollars and I don’t regret it at all. It’s extremely delicious.
I came running just to make sure I wasn’t crazy and it smells like Flowerbomb… I can finally relax hahaha.
I love it, lasts well in cold climates for about 6 hours and projects well; in heat it lasts nothing, not even 3 hours and doesn’t project much. It smells delicious and its bottle need not be said to be beautiful, it leaves a trail, it seems similar to me, it’s not that it’s equal to La Vie Est Belle.
By its name it already says everything to me, it made me fall in love. Despite feeling a bit soft, this perfume has me smitten. I love it, Killer Queen, the best by Katy Perry!
Killer Queen by Katy Perry: a celebrity perfume with lots of personality. I was surprised by the scent; I didn’t expect the typical tooth-rotting gourmand and it’s not much better. It’s sweet but fresh, even it seems high-end due to its packaging, the little bottle in diamond shape with golden crown details. The quality isn’t the best in longevity or projection; for the first hour it’s felt and receives praise, but afterwards it drops until it stays right on the skin. Perfect for short outings or daily wear. I recommend it heaps.
I’ve never smelled Flowerbomb, but in a video a YouTuber did a challenge where her husband chose it as his favourite. While Killer Queen does resemble it, it evokes that masculine taste; it’s delicious, dark and sensual yet serious and jovial at the same time, I suppose it’s due to the patchouli for which it’s compared to LVEB. I recommend it highly, especially for the price.
Killer Queen is a sweet and woody, gourmand and neutral perfume. It doesn’t seem childish nor sophisticated, but it has character. I enjoy it much in winter, with good performance and moderate trail. Who will like it: lovers of praliné.
Sweet and subtle, very feminine. I bought it because reviews said it resembled Flowerbomb, and indeed it does, although I only used one bottle as the longevity is short. It’s a low-cost perfume and it’s decent.
If you like sweet perfumes, it’s a good option; it has something of the female Vie Estelle by Lancôme, ideal for cold days. Bear in mind that the longevity isn’t the best and the packaging is very awkward because it has no base to stand it upright or place it down.
A nice gourmand, nothing special but generally pleasing. The problem is it doesn’t last even an hour; I’ve used up to three different bottles. I won’t buy it again for that reason.
It does remind me of the old Estelle Belle in its final phase (but without its longevity or trail). It’s woody and lovely for a celebrity scent, stepping out of the ordinary. But it lacks intensity and longevity.
The bottle is brilliant and Killer Queen smells very similar to Flowerbomb 💗. I think it’s a good sexy perfume, dark and very nocturne… nothing cosy, only for special night occasions 🌠🪐. And as for Katy Perry… wonderful! 🙌
A blind buy and a disappointment 🙁 I didn’t like it at all. I don’t know what’s in the nose of those who say it resembles Flowerbomb; there’s nothing alike.
One of the first fragrances in my collection. I liked it back then, but my nose has evolved and now I value performance. Killer Queen doesn’t have it. I’ve had it for a long time, and even after maceration, it doesn’t improve. I notice it resembles Flowerbomb, but I got rid of that one due to the powdery note (it wasn’t a ‘bomb’ in terms of projection or longevity, despite the price). Smells good for its cost, but it’s too ephemeral.
I bought it because I heard my sister-in-law wearing it from 4-5 metres away; my mum and I looked at each other wondering what smelled like chocolate and bonbons… exquisite! But on me, it doesn’t smell the same: at first it’s rich and sweet, but after 20 minutes it becomes flat and boring (and zero longevity).
Killer Queen reminds me of a rosé wine with floral and fruity touches 🍷👑. At first, it’s sweet and floral with berries and juicy plum; as it dries down, it blends with the woody notes, gaining warmth and a touch of coquettishness without changing much. The trail is discreet; you notice it without being overwhelmed. Lasts 3-4 hours on skin, needs reapplication; lasts longer on clothes. Affordable price. Ideal if you like sweet florals or are a Katy Perry fan. Elegant and coquettish, though it doesn’t last long. Rating: 8/10.
Smells like strawberries with chocolate, very elegant for a celebrity scent. It’s a sober chocolate, not a cupcake. It evokes her concept: a strong and mysterious woman. It was my perfume for special occasions.
