Descripción

Bvlgari Man Black Cologne is an oriental floral fragrance for men. Launched in 2016, the nose behind this composition is Alberto Morillas. The top notes evoke rum, citrus, and green notes; the heart reveals orange blossom and neroli; while the base notes settle on amber, benzoin, sandalwood, and musk.

  • A fine fragrance, very pleasant, masculine and elegant. Smells a lot like Spicebomb Extreme but less spicy and more affordable. It has good sillage and longevity within its price range. I bought it without a second thought because the perfumer is master Alberto Morillas.

  • A very pleasant, elegant and masculine fragrance. Smells almost identical to Spicebomb Extreme but with less heat and at a much more reasonable price. It has good projection and longevity for its range. I bought it without hesitation because the creator is the master Alberto Morillas.

I went to the shop for the classic from the line but spotted this new fragrance. Without knowing much about it, I took a risk and I must say I absolutely love it. It has a soft scent yet a wonderful trail; in my opinion, it’s elegant and subtle, even slightly feminine. It’s fresh, though not in the conventional citrus way; there are citrus notes, but they aren’t the main focus.

Bvlgari Man Black Cologne smells citrusy, floral and spicy. Like other Bvlgari scents, it delivers elegance and subtlety. In its development, it feels floral and fresh from the citrus and jasmine, though sometimes notes similar to the original emerge (perhaps cinnamon, pepper and tobacco). Overall it is pleasant and attractive, but it has poor projection; you only notice it when bringing your nose close. Longevity is good, lasting up to seven hours. It is timeless, but better suited for spring and summer.

It’s a rather good fragrance. The citrus notes are there but don’t stand out alone; they blend perfectly with rum and amber over a sandalwood base that carries it. I wouldn’t recommend it for extreme heat as the rum can become cloying, but it’s incredible for an evening or night out. Don’t overapply, as it can indeed get heavy.

It’s a rather good fragrance. The citrus notes are there but don’t stand out on their own; they blend perfectly with rum and amber over a sandalwood base that carries them along. I wouldn’t recommend it for extreme heat as the rum can become overwhelming, but it works brilliantly for an evening party. Just don’t overdo it, as it can certainly be a bit heavy.

A pleasant surprise when buying blind. It is very well blended and balanced. It opens with citrus notes before moving into a woody and musky blend that I really like; I’d give it 7.5/10. I detect no floral notes whatsoever.

A pleasant blind buy, very well blended and balanced. It starts citrusy, then moves to a lovely woody and aldehydic mix. 7.5/10. I don’t detect the floral aspect.

  • I tested it on a used sample from Wallapop (I do the same). I loved it so much that, upon hearing it’s no longer in production, I tracked it down and bought a bottle. Man Black Cologne is original: it starts citrusy and fresh, then shifts to nocturnal notes with rum, clean white flowers and a tuberose right on the edge of being too much. The base is resinous sandalwood with a hidden suede accord that gives it class. The name fits. I’m not a fan of the Man in Black line, so I wouldn’t recommend it for everyday family wear. Performance is decent: six solid hours, moderate projection at first before settling into a personal bubble. The intense accords make up for it. It smells masculine, ideal for evenings or nights in mild weather or cold, not for extreme heat. Perfect for a terrace dinner or autumn/spring. If you like the line and want something more versatile and lighter than the original (given the reformulations), I’d recommend looking online. The atomiser is poor, as with all in this line. Salu2.

  • If you lived in the nineties, it smells like a matron’s perfume. It’s odd they market it for men. That blend of rum and flowers is brilliant.

  • If you lived in the 90s, this smells like the typical old lady’s perfume. It’s incredible that it’s marketed for men. That mix of rum and flowers is simply disgusting.
