I always avoid citrus perfumes, but I absolutely loved Munnar Valley. The opening is very acidic and reminds me of the start of Puredistance’s Aenotus, but then each goes its own way: the other evolves into a musky citrus, while here the citrus charge fades to give way to a woody and balsamic base. The incense comes to the fore, very well dosed, blending with the woods that define the fragrance. At this point, it recalls dry Aventus, with that woody, citrusy, smoky profile, though without the pineapple and with a spicier feel. The performance is very good: moderate projection but excellent longevity, considering what it is. I see it as totally unisex, leaning neither towards men nor women, and of quite high quality. In fact, I’m already planning to buy it. It seems perfect for daily wear or the office, especially in moderate or cold temperatures. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 9, Projection: 8, Value for money: 6, Versatility: 6, Originality: 7, Overall: 8.5
I’m usually not a fan of citrus perfumes, but Munnar Valley caught me by surprise. It starts with a super sharp, acidic opening reminiscent of Puredistance’s Aenotus, though the paths diverge from there: while the other moves towards a musky citrus, here the acidity drops to let a woody and balsamic base take over. Incense is the star, very pleasant and balanced, alongside a blend of woods that seals the deal. At this stage, it smells a bit like dry Aventus, with that woody, citrusy, smoky character, but without the pineapple and with a spicier touch. The performance is brilliant: moderate projection but a duration that never fails, typical of this type of fragrance. I see it as pure unisex, without bias, of high quality. I’m already thinking of buying it; it’s ideal for everyday wear or the office, especially in fresh or cold weather. In the words of Hueleme Mucho, it’s the Allure Edition Blanch by Chanel but in a niche edition (with higher-quality ingredients). Added to the wish list.
Fortunately, it doesn’t smell citrusy; instead, it’s very fresh and woody with green notes, barely sweet, and unisex in just the right measure. It doesn’t feel too heavy for either men or women, making it super pleasant for everyday wear in warm climates. It reminds me of some Hermès scents but with better performance, though nothing extraordinary (4 hours on my skin with a low trail).
At 4 am, battling a chill that wouldn’t let me get off to sleep, I dreamt of a cosmic journey landing me in a green tea valley, complete with rivers and a giant train station. With my cat-like eyes and dog-like nose, I tracked the air and caught the scent from miles away: incense, wet wood, and that petrichor of damp earth mixed with tea leaves and a hint of spice. Quickly, I fished out my little bottle, uncorked it, and began to capture that wonderful blend. I added a splash of waterfall water and a touch of galbanum oil, shook it, corked it, and labelled it ‘Munnar Valley’ of the fertile age. Ἄνουβις Balsámica!
It was around 4 am, a bit chilly, trying to find warmth to drift back to sleep, but in my cosmic travels and for some reason I can’t control, I opened my eyes and my body was transported to a place of infinite beauty. I found myself in an unknown valley, green and damp, with vast tea plantations, winding rivers, picturesque hills, and a giant train station made of cedar and iron. I stayed watching the landscape with my eyes wide open and my nose alert, tracking the area until detecting a sharp scent from miles away: incense, wet woods combined with the smell of damp earth and petrichor, the dryness of green tea leaves with a subtle touch of spice. Quickly I fished out a little bottle from my belt, uncorked it, and began to capture those scents and their nuances. Then I took a bit of water from the cascades, applied a touch of galbanum oil, shook it, corked it, and labelled it ‘Munnar Valley’ of the fertile age. Ἄνουβις Balsámica.
