I don’t own the original Crivelli, so I can only share my experience: it’s a complex fragrance, best tested before buying. The bottle shamelessly copies the original, differing only in the label and cap. The opening is slightly alcoholic and fades within 20 seconds, giving way to a blend of oud, leather, saffron, rose, and cardamom. Slowly, a woody sweetness emerges, which I believe comes from nutmeg. After hours, the classic pink oud with osmanthus remains, softening and adding floral notes until it mellows into patchouli. In conclusion, it evolves beautifully and smells far more expensive than its $15 price tag. Oud lovers (who prefer it not too animalic) might be pleasantly surprised, as the oud isn’t aggressive and is tempered by the other ingredients. I’d wear it daily in cooler weather, applying it sparingly since the ‘nuclear’ aspect isn’t for decoration, and of course, for evening outings and special occasions.
