I tried it and loved it. It has a very soft but pleasant hint of mint and coriander with good longevity. Ideal for summer and spring.
I’m back with Mr Mark Buxton, that brilliant Englishman who recreated this Fraicheur Menthe on the original Pasha (1992) formula by Jacques Cavallier. In my opinion, it’s the best flanker in the entire Pasha family, though I’m surprised Cavallier wasn’t in charge. The blue bottle with blue liquid fell in love with me instantly; it was a must-have. Upon spraying, there’s an ultra-clean moment between sweet citrus and frozen mint, with coriander adding vibrancy and intense aroma. Everything lands on the classic sweet wood of Pasha. I like it more than the original because it’s more cheerful and relaxed, though it works all year round. Performance is excellent. I’m sorry it’s been discontinued and won’t return; if you find it, it’s an exotic treasure, as long as the price is fair (around $100).
I’m back with Mr Mark Buxton, that bespectacled Englishman who created this Fraicheur Menthe from the original Pasha 1992 formula by Jacques Cavallier. In my view, it’s the best flanker the Pasha family has ever produced, though I’m surprised Cavallier wasn’t leading this project. Fraicheur Menthe won my heart for a long time thanks to that round bottle where the blue liquid reinforces the idea of fresh mint, and the blue-capped bottle made it a must-have for my collection; now it’s here. On first spray, my nose lands in an ultra-clean limbo where a sweet, fleeting citrus top fades into frozen, rough mint, heavily accented with coriander seed that gives it a nervous, deeply aromatic vibration; everything settles onto a sweet wood base, whose landing gear is the classic Pasha. I conclude that Fraicheur Menthe is beautiful; I’ve liked it far more than the original because it feels more cheerful and suited to a more relaxed audience, though it certainly has all-season potential. On top of that, its performance is excellent. For all these reasons, I believe this beautiful creation should remain on the market, as if it did, it would have a multitude of devoted fans; however, Fraicheur Menthe has gone and seems unlikely to return. If you collect, I think this specimen is undoubtedly one of the most exotic still available, provided the price is right (around $100).
A lovely, fresh opening driven by mint, sharp and delicious; it lasts around 30 or 40 minutes before drying down to a classic barbershop scent with plenty of moss, caraway and sandalwood, with no noticeable patchouli. I think it’s excellent, very similar to the original in its late dry-down but with more modern, cheerful touches rather than youthful ones. Performance is average: 6–8 hours, with the last two hours sitting close to the skin and moderate projection. It’s a unicorn for some collectors because it’s so hard to find these days.
