Faconnable by Façonnable

Faconnable by Façonnable… Soapy aroma, clean talc and floral that you enjoy for a short time due to its low duration and soft trail. Very pleasant if you like freshly cut fresh mint, it has something of Paco Rabanne XS, one of my favourites. Its weakness is the duration and projection. Cheers.

I haven’t smelled it in fifteen years, yet I remember it as if it were yesterday. It’s the classic perfume story of a first love: the first day at university, walking into the lounge, I was hit by that scent at the door and thought I had to know who smelled so well, so confident, so attractive and clean. It was all that! I know exactly how long it lasts, even though I didn’t wear it myself, it lingered on my clothes and hair; I loved it. It reminds me of Montblanc men’s fragrances, but with a more unisex touch.

It’s a simple yet rich perfume: mint, flowers and a sweet base. It’s perfect for hot days. Totally unisex. Will I buy it again? No, due to the poor longevity and projection. Besides, it reminds me of Vicks VapoRub type products hehe.

Smells very much like SIETE MACHOS, a well-known pharmacy perfume from Mexico by the house Urania. That perfume has a curious story in the Mexican cultural imagination: everyone mentions it and mocks the ‘smell of seven males’ to refer to something ‘powerful but unpleasant’. In a country full of machismo, that name makes many people think the scent is ‘common and cheap’; plus, as it has been used in Santería, cleansings and witchcraft, it’s believed to smell esoteric, like incense sticks. But it turns out very few people truly know what it smells like: white flowers, talcum-dried, clean, floral, completely unisex. This Faconnable has that talcum-dried, clean, floral, relaxing and soft quality. With a semi-sweet citrus base, a little effervescent, similar to Yuzu but with grapefruit. Highly recommended for men over 30 with a taste for simple yet lovely, clean and inoffensive fragrances. It’s charming, has a good price and decent performance: Good, Beautiful, Cheap.

After giving it a try, I didn’t like it at all. It’s a weird hybrid of Cool Water that I hate, smelling like dryer sheets. It lasts around 4-5 hours with moderate sillage. For $15 (100ml), I felt it was cheaper than its worth; I ended up keeping the bottle and even used it as a desk pen holder, haha. You can buy it blind, but only if you pay as I did—I used almost half of it as a room freshener xD

At first it smells strongly of mint and citrus, but after half an hour it smells clean and soapy. The presentation is good, the scent not so much, but for the price it’s worth having in the collection.

I didn’t know the fragrance until I visited a collector uncle; his tin looks like vintage biscuits. At first I didn’t like it at all, but after three hours at home its essence changed, becoming fresh, soft and elegant. Ideal for men aged 30 to 50 with semi-formal clothes in the heat. I would buy it because it’s not aggressive and doesn’t overwhelm at work.

What a find! I tried this fragrance today, which I only use in summer, and decided to wear it in winter; the great surprise was that it fixes even better, highlighting the floral, sandalwood, and jasmine. In summer, it’s the freshness, mint, and mandarin that stand out, but with sweat it tends to last less. It’s a game of pH, so it’s timeless and now it’s almost discontinued; I regret not having bought another one. Someone gifted me another bottle and I rediscovered it; I used it at the end of winter and with the cold its opening is very particular and elegant, very pleasant to wear. It doesn’t saturate others but they do perceive it, so there’s no need to smell like a mile away and bore everyone. Here, the refined with classic touches marks its own seal, pure French elegance.

Beautiful presentation with a brass box and a bottle in the shape of an old canteen, like a product from the early 20th century, like the Tom Ford luxury line such as Black Orchid. It has a unique opening, wow, fresh, sparkling and clean. Fresh, musky, floral, exquisite mandarin. Elegant, not invasive nor leaving a toxic trail, but it speaks of someone confident who uses fragrance with style and quality, without needing extras to mark presence. It looks more for semi-formal wear than to steal girls’ glances while passing smelling that fresh and clean aroma. I didn’t trust it based on the reviews, but I realised they were just different experiences. It’s a product that isn’t cheap but also not outrageously priced, similar to a YSL. Starting from the fact that every pH is different and some perfumes stick more than others, or sometimes saturate the space and you don’t feel it because your sense of smell collapses, and it happens very often. Note: packaging originality 9, fragrance 8, longevity 7, quality 9.

To start, soft orange blossom, mandarin, a hint of geranium and mint. Then the jasmine brightens, and finally, after 12 hours, it clings to the skin with a musk and jasmine blend. I didn’t really pick up on the amber. It felt a bit odd; I’m not sure why, as it’s clearly not my favourite woody floral musk. The trail was moderate and faded to a very soft skin scent. Perhaps it suits spring or autumn better, given its floral charge, and is best worn during the day. It lasted around 12 hours, but very lightly.

Façonnable is a fragrance that seems correctly classified as a woody floral musk. Its opening is strongly floral, although dominated mainly by jasmine, more than by geranium and rose. The orange blossom and mandarin are barely distinguishable, not so the mint. The truth is the first 30 minutes are dizzying and somewhat heavy, but afterwards it softens and becomes a fresh and pleasant fragrance, with greater presence of sandalwood and a jasmine always persistent. I felt it of a unisex style, as there are no notes that stand out and give it too masculine a nature; in reality it smells very much of jasmine, sandalwood and orange blossom. It captures very well the style that lasted a long time in the 90s and I don’t find any resemblance with any other fragrance. Duration around 6 hours. As an additional note, the bottle is very beautiful and elegant, it comes protected by an aluminium tin.

It smells like whisky and I hate it, alcoholic mix with mandarin. It’s not for young people nor for the type of modern adult, it’s a disaster! I gifted it to an uncle and he doesn’t even use it.
