Exuberant and bold fragrance that lives up to its name: Remarkable People. The scent is somewhat linear with average performance. It opens with citrus, cardamom, and an exquisite champagne note, though the citrus is slightly sweet. It’s versatile, fun, and unisex. Ideal for sophisticated settings.

  • This fragrance is dominated by 2 or 3 notes: grapefruit, champagne, and perhaps a very slight, almost imperceptible cardamom. Upon application, you feel the grapefruit over the champagne, then they pair with equal intensity. An hour later, the champagne dominates, leaving a slightly sweet touch with a hint of citrus in the background, like this for another 3 hours until it disappears. It’s an ALMOST LINEAR fragrance. Exuberant and bold? Not at all; I’ve seen this scent several times: sweet and slightly citrusy, GENERIC, and you end up smelling it and throwing away the blotting paper. One that comes to mind is Versace EROS. Medium trail for 1h30, low for 4h more, casual or semi-formal, for cold or fresh climates. More than remarkable, I’d say it’s UNREMARKABLE.

  • This fragrance is basically dominated by two or three notes: grapefruit and champagne, perhaps with a very slight, almost imperceptible touch of cardamom. Initially, you feel the grapefruit slightly over the champagne; after an hour, they match in intensity; another hour later, the champagne dominates, giving it a sweet touch with a very faint citrus note in the background, maintaining this for another three hours before disappearing. It is an ALMOST LINEAR fragrance. Exuberant and bold? Not at all. I have seen this scent several times, like when you go to see what is new and several similar, sweet, and slightly citrusy, GENERIC ones come out, and you end up smelling them and throwing away the blotting paper seconds later. One that comes to mind is Versace EROS. With a medium trail for an hour and a half and a low trail for another four, it is of the casual or semi-formal type, suitable for cold or fresh climates. A fragrance that is more than remarkable, I would say, is UNREMARKABLE.

To me, Remarkable People smells like lemon (or grapefruit) caramel. It’s a sweet, rich, yet unoriginal and generic citrus scent. The champagne adds elegance and the cardamom is noticeable, but that’s about it. Pleasant enough, but I wouldn’t buy it. I’ll enjoy the sample, but nothing more. It reminds me of Dior Homme Cologne, perhaps sweeter. Performance as Arp says: 4-5 hours on skin with low-to-medium projection, common for the brand. Unisex, for daily wear, perfect for spring/summer. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 6, Projection: 6, Value: 5, Versatility: 9, Originality: 5, Overall: 7.5.

To me, Remarkable People smells like a lemon (or rather grapefruit) caramel. A sweet citrus aroma that, while rich, is quite unoriginal and generic. It is true that the champagne gives it a certain air of elegance and the spiced touch of cardamom is noticeable… But there isn’t much more. Pleasant? Yes, but I don’t think I would buy it. I will enjoy the sample I have, but little else. It reminds me of fragrances like Dior Homme Cologne, perhaps a bit sweeter. The longevity is as expected: about 4-5 hours on skin with medium-low projection, which is common for the brand. Unisex, for daily wear, and wearable in spring or summer. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 6, Projection: 6, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 9, Originality: 5, Overall: 7.5.

  • My opinion was similar to most, but I changed it after testing it on someone else’s skin, which helps to understand how others perceive it. The opening is effervescent and refreshing, slightly sweet citrus. As it dries down, the sandalwood is soft; I perceived it as another wood, perhaps cashmere or guaiac, though I am not an expert, but I assure you the sandalwood is barely noticeable. Overall, it smells of ‘strawberry’ (a Mexican expression for classy, wealthy people), but I wouldn’t call it elegant or formal; it is more casual, semi-formal, and relaxed. The projection is wide for the first two hours, perhaps two metres, then quickly drops to less than a metre, but it persists for hours with poor intensity: it is noticeable at a distance, but most people don’t detect it as a perfume, more as a premonition. The wearer stops noticing it after three or four hours, but those around them still detect it. On clothes, it lasts until the next day and impressively projects as far as an arm’s length. Previously, I was disappointed by the longevity as a wearer, but as an observer, it is different and convinces me. It has great versatility and is excellent for the office, enclosed spaces, and warm environments; unisex, suitable for men. I recommend it and would buy it again; it seems quite original, discreet, and zero offensive.

I’m wearing it today and think it’s a good time to review. The curious ELdO gifted this to me in 2015; the champagne note called to me from the paper, and it took years to try it. The opening was mild; I expected something fresher and more opulent, but found a sweet, sparkling grapefruit. The champagne gives a bubbly, sweet sensation, like sweet ginger or a fizzy drink, more refined than brash. Alongside the grapefruit and champagne, cardamom and sandalwood stand out. It’s sweet and bubbly, becoming spiced and then woody without losing the sweetness. It’s not gourmand; the sweetness is soft, from orange grapefruit, cardamom, and perhaps an undeclared note. It smells very good and is pleasant, but not groundbreaking. By phases it reminds of other perfumes, though the scent is unique. It promises more complexity than it delivers; it’s quite linear and performance doesn’t stand out: lasts about 6 hours with moderate projection and trail, though the trail is noticeable at first. It’s very versatile, ideal for daily wear, although in extreme cold or heat it fades, standing out in intermediate climates. Doesn’t look bad in formal situations. The bottle is gorgeous, pearlescent gold that reflects luxury, and the perfume is visible from below. If I’d tried it before, I wouldn’t have bought it, but since I have it, I like it more and more. It’s very usable, not a challenge, and usually pleases. It has a pleasant scent without being standout, and for the price it’s not worth it unless on offer or if you already like it.

I’m wearing it today and felt it was the right time to write a review. The intriguing house Etat Libre d’Orange gifted me this fragrance in 2015; it caught my attention from the start. That trumpeted note of champagne had to be tried, and now that the time has finally come, albeit years late, I’m ready. The opening left me slightly lukewarm—not because it was bad, but because I expected something different, perhaps fresher and more opulent given the name ‘Remarkable’. Instead, I found a sweet grapefruit that I can only describe as ‘sparkling’. The champagne dresses up the grapefruit, adding that effervescent, sweet sensation. I’ve never smelled this note before; I compare it to the scent of sweet ginger, which in perfumery evokes a refreshing drink. The champagne is more refined and less brash than I expected, marrying perfectly to give just the right touch of exclusivity without being overly attention-seeking. Many notes are described, but alongside the grapefruit and champagne, cardamom and sandalwood stand out. Beyond that, the fragrance centres on this: a sweet, effervescent aroma that becomes spiced by the cardamom and finally woody without losing its initial sweetness. It is not gourmand; the sweetness is soft and has multiple origins, both the orange grapefruit and the cardamom. It smells very nice and is pleasant, but not groundbreaking. By phases, it reminds me of other perfumes, yet the scent is quite unique. Although I expected more development and complexity based on the notes, it turns out to be fairly linear. Its longevity is not outstanding: on my skin, it lasts about six hours, but the projection and trail are moderate from the start, though the trail is noticeable for the first few hours. It is quite versatile, working very well for daily wear, although in extreme temperatures the scent fades, being more noticeable in intermediate climates. As it is uncommon, it can be worn casually without looking out of place in formal situations. The bottle is beautiful, with a pearlescent gold that reflects luxury, and the perfume is visible from the bottom. If I had tried it before, I wouldn’t have purchased it, but since I own it and have used it, I’ve grown to like it more because it is very pleasant and usable. For a niche fragrance, it doesn’t present a huge challenge and tends to please those around me. It is one of those very pleasant but unremarkable fragrances that, given the price, aren’t worth it unless you’ve tried it, like it, or find it on sale.

  • It reminded me of Creed’s Silver Mountain Water, though less citrusy and less defined. I didn’t dislike it, but it wasn’t particularly attractive either. The longevity is average. I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • Normally I don’t write fragrance reviews, but I should… I’m not here to discuss the notes; my nose isn’t trained to distinguish so much. On the opening, I sense a citrus scent with a very interesting warm touch, but once it dries on my skin, it smells exactly like Pacha Psychodelic, a mix between the old version (plastic ball) and the current one. I’m not saying it’s not cool, but it lasts and smells like a low-cost fragrance, so for me it’s not worth the price. I do appreciate the simplicity, as I’ve encountered scents that drove me mad, and this isn’t the case. Stunning for spring/summer, I’ll use the decant I bought and enjoy it a lot, but this decant won’t become a bottle like many others in my collection.

  • Normally I don’t write reviews though I should try more often… I’m not here to discuss the notes because my nose isn’t trained enough to distinguish them. In the opening I sense a citrus scent with a very interesting warm touch but when it dries down on my skin and nose it smells exactly like Pacha Psychedelic a mix between the old and current versions. I’m not saying it’s not cool but it lasts and smells like a low-cost fragrance so for me it’s not worth the price. I do appreciate its simplicity as I’ve encountered scents that drove me crazy and this isn’t the case. Stunning for spring/summer I’ll use the decant I bought and enjoy it greatly but this bottle won’t join my collection.

  • 100 unisex fragrance a unique aroma that no one will smell exactly as you do; it’s a bottled mimosa. I’d like it to have more projection and longevity but you certainly should own it.

  • Daniel RH

Grapefruit with champagne gives a certain energetic touch. I’ve finished a bottle and already have a second one. It’s a refreshing fragrance; you’ll smell very clean pleasant and charming very wearable. Excellent for everyday wear in spring and summer. Nothing extraordinary is true but it’s excellent and has great quality.

  • DAVID EAGLE

YouTube reviews caught my eye and I bought it blind but I’ll be brief: I didn’t like it. The opening is interesting and refreshing but on the skin it loses much of its punch. I feel it has a feminine tendency and terrible projection; the scent sticks to the skin without any compliments. I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • Of all the notes the one that stands out most is the ‘champagne’ though it sounds odd as they surely don’t distil oil from that drink. It’s a trick with sandalwood cardamom and grapefruit that gives a Fanta-like sweetness molasses-y yet very light like a burp hours after drinking a fizzy drink. It also has an elastic texture like rubber but without any resinous smell. Then there’s the curry tree which smells spiced and musky like that turmeric mix giving the perfume all its depth and zest; without it it would be a boring gummy bear citrus. I wish it were stronger because my problem is that it veers too much towards the gummy side and the jelly traps it making it static and killing it. As it dries down the sweetness drops a bit and the curry remains so it improves.

  • Sofisticado

If this perfume maintained its first 30 seconds throughout the life of the fragrance it would be a true marvel. Unfortunately, pleasure is always ephemeral and quickly the scent turns into something much less brilliant and heavier that is no longer liked so much. What a pity.

  • Monty Phyton

First impression of citrus, like a flanker of 4711, but something more sophisticated due to the champagne note; however, the evolution leaves much to be desired. It’s a soda that loses strength like an opened Coca-Cola. Unisex, penetrating, ephemeral and versatile. The beautiful people, the beautiful people… It’s all relative to the size of your steeple. I prefer the one from the fat electrician or the respectable lady from the palaces. 6/10.

  • Candycandy40

If ‘You or Someone Like You’ is like a bespoke mojito, this ‘Remarkable People’ is like a bespoke mimosa too, but with grapefruit instead of orange. Sparkling at the start and although it doesn’t have a long trail or lasting power, the quality and intention to transport us via scent to a jet set party are noticeable. Curious, truly.

  • The opening is very fresh, with cardamom and grapefruit predominating, but the latter disappears quickly, making it more spiced and warm. Over time, it becomes increasingly warm, metallic and floral, reaching the final dry-down after about two hours and lasting on my skin for around 6 or 7 hours. It’s unisex, shines in temperate climates and, despite not seeming fresh to me, I think it can be worn in summer. I tried it for the champagne note, which I found original, but I didn’t detect anything resembling it. I felt it was a slightly more feminine version of MFK’s Gentle Fluidity Silver: a functional perfume that delivers, but isn’t a marvel. I see it as perfect for a wardrobe staple or office perfume for a cheerful man who wants to convey being friendly and accessible. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 7/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 5/10.

  • Guille o Memo

I was drawn to its champagne note, which some describe as bubbly. At first, I have a certain inclination to know this French house’s work in detail for its original proposal (at least in marketing terms) since the names of its fragrances seem interesting to me. ‘Remarkable People’ is pleasant and original, but in my opinion it’s hyped by reviewers; I only recommend buying it if you have a particular attraction to a specific note, as I agree that most would remain slightly disappointed by its scarce performance. I liked its vivid, citrus opening that gives way to sweet champagne, but it quickly loses its initial charm and is left with little projection. For what it delivers, the fragrance is expensive and would benefit from a reformulation that extended its initial charm and improved its projection to deserve the hype it has been given.

  • I love it! It’s very cheerful, sparkling and happy. It has that lovely ‘two-thousand’ touch. It’s versatile and I think everyone will like it. It’s true I associate it with younger people; it’s fully unisex and retro in a good way. It could be the perfume for Cyber Celia or Damon Albarn, with all the air of the 1999 Benicàssim Festival, as if they had bottled that era. I feel it’s super carefree, pretty, light and optimistic. If it were a song, it would be ‘You and Me’ by the Wannadies. The only thing that could be more remarkable is its duration, which is rather scarce.

Yes, I associate it with young people; it’s fully unisex, retro in a good way (I could wear it, Cyber Celia or Damon Albarn would too, it has a custom-made Benicassim Festival 99 vibe, as if they bottled that era). I feel it’s super carefree, pretty, light, and optimistic. If it were a song, it would be You and Me by The Wannadies. What could be more remarkable is its longevity, which is scarce.

It’s a very strange fragrance: neither fresh nor warm. Although it has notes of mimosa and grapefruit, over time it develops a smoke-like note that I can’t stand on a day or in the heat. What does work for it is the compliments factor; it stands out (instead of remarking, ha ha ha) from the other fragrances. It has just enough power to last 6-8 hours and project sufficiently in open spaces. (7/10).

  • It literally lasts 5 minutes… It doesn’t resemble Pacha Psychédélique. It smells like Johnson’s Baby orange shampoo if you can catch a whiff in time.

  • It’s very curious, especially the sparkling citrus opening (probably champagne), alongside a spiced touch of cardamom and a sweet base. As it dries down, it becomes more floral with sandalwood, making it very easy to wear. I also detect a slightly smoky nuance. Within the realm of pleasant, I find it very normal; it hasn’t surprised me too much and the performance is just right. I recommend it from spring to autumn, especially for daytime use; I don’t see it as formal and it has a youthful air. Within the brand, I find better options.

I’ve been quietly testing several fragrances from this house and this is, without a doubt, my favourite. It smells fruity, vibrant and fun, yet with an elegant, clean touch. Many compare it to sweet orange soda or Fructis-style shampoo (comparisons I enjoy). I agree it has a bit of a ‘two-thousand’ vibe: it’s the perfect perfume for a trip to the pool with friends, paired with the 2004 mix player and a Fanta. It’s cheerful, clean and smells like pleasant shampoo that leaves hair shiny. I see it as perfect for spring and summer, though it can brighten a winter day too. It’s not offensive and everyone likes it, but it feels a bit dated compared to current trends. My only gripe is that it doesn’t have huge projection; it lasts quite a while but you can only smell it from very close. Out of all the ELDO testers I’ve tried, this is the one that tempts me most to buy the bottle. It’s very everyday, special, clean, sweet, youthful and a perfect mix of fun and elegant.
