They say it’s a magnet for women and that girls approach men who wear it; to me, it smells very seductive and sexy. The opening is slightly powdery and mossy, I believe due to the juniper, then it shifts to an addictive spicy scent, very, very good. It’s addictive and pleasant until you start smelling it over and over again. P.S.: This is a men’s cologne. Children, stay away from this.

  • As one forum member said, this perfume has a reputation for attracting women. The opening doesn’t quite suit me, but after 15-20 minutes it becomes addictive. It starts citrusy before blending musk with woods, without losing that aromatic fruity touch. It reminds me of violets, yet with a very masculine and sober air. I see it as fresh, classic, and elegant, with acceptable longevity, sillage, and projection. A plus: it’s little known, so few will know what you’re wearing. Recommended.

  • I love it; it smells like Cool Water but with more character. Ideal for evening wear. I noticed it lasts longer on clothes than on skin, so if you want it to linger, dab some on your shirt.

  • I notice Azzaro Silver Black as slightly fresher, less intense, and less medicinal than the Pour Homme; they are quite similar. Suitable for spring/summer, more for evening use. I recommend it for romantic dates or work. Very good trail, excellent longevity. A truly masculine fragrance.

  • I just sprayed a good stream of Silver Black on both wrists, along with Midnight in Paris by Van Cleef & Arpels; what a mix! A total autumn success. I’ve had a bottle of Silver Black for a couple of years that I got very cheap in a minis order and never paid much attention to. I tested it properly, and perhaps I didn’t like it as much… Perhaps it was summer, and it felt heavy on me. The truth is, in the Canary Islands, it never gets cold, so I enjoy potent perfumes more when it cools down a bit. I’ve been testing it for days, and it has a very 80s vibe, even though it came out in 2005. The apple and bergamot give it air and vivacity, although its soul is melancholic and dark, perhaps due to the patchouli and anise. It also has a touch of classic barbershop: creamy, soft but intense, and pleasant, and I believe it’s a genuinely masculine fragrance. I’m liking it a lot, and so is the people around me. The fact that it moves away from current trends without being strident is another point in its favour, along with the price and excellent fixation. I find it versatile, although I would avoid closed and hot spaces.

  • I sprayed a good amount of Silver Black on my wrists along with Midnight in Paris, and what a fresher blend. A total autumn success. I’ve had a bottle of Silver Black for a couple of years that I picked up cheaply with a minis order and never really gave it a chance. I tried it before and perhaps it didn’t convince me, maybe due to summer heat. Here in the Canaries, it doesn’t get cold, so I enjoy potent perfumes more when the weather cools down. I’ve worn it for several days and it has an eighties vibe, although it was released in 2005. It’s versatile, but best avoided in closed, hot places.

It suits me perfectly, though my girlfriend doesn’t much (that’s her choice). I see myself as Nisman with this just before his cap flew off. The trail is weak, standard, but the fixation is good.

I haven’t liked it much. It doesn’t compare to the classic Azzaro. This seems very timid, without personality, and the longevity and scent just aren’t for me. The Visit is much better as well.

I haven’t liked it much. It doesn’t compare to the Azzaro of old. This seems very timid, lacking personality, and neither the longevity nor the scent is to my liking. The Visit is much better, for example.

To be honest, after giving it a proper try, it’s been a suspense. It starts fresh and pleasant but doesn’t last long. Then notes of retro, old-fashioned barbershop emerge that I don’t like. The coriander is very present (and I can’t stand coriander), and I barely sensed the juniper. I did a poll and it doesn’t attract women; out of every two who liked it, five said it was for older people. In summary, the price, longevity, and sillage are great, but those old eighties barbershop touches and that strong spicy note make it a total discard for me. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re 40 or older, as my nose and others, mostly women of all ages, say. Rating: Opening 9, Dry Down 3. Longevity and Sillage 8. Price 9. Versatility 6.

True, I tested this thoroughly and it was quite a mystery: it starts fresh and pleasant but lasts a mere breath. Then a super retro, old-fashioned barbershop scent settles in. The coriander dominates (and I’m angry because I can’t stand it), and the juniper barely smells. I conducted a poll, and nothing about attracting women; out of every two who liked it, five said it smelled old or for older people. In summary: the price is great, and the longevity and trail work, but those 80s barbershop touches and that beastly spicy tone make this Azzaro a total discard for my collection. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re 40 or older, as my nose and others, mostly women of various ages, say. Score: Aroma: 9 projection/3 dry down. Longevity and trail: 8. Price: 9. Versatility: 6.

  • It’s a pleasant perfume with three clear notes: first citrus, then anise, and finally patchouli. It has very little relation to Azzaro Pour Homme, and I prefer the original. Nevertheless, given the price, longevity, and what it offers, I recommend buying it if you can find it for 600 pesos or 30 dollars. The best part is that it’s not mass-produced.

A powerful scent with a retro 80s vibe but updated, very suitable for a mature man without falling into the classic fougere or the typical ‘grandpa fragrance’ trap. It’s the Azzaro Pour Homme, which hardly anyone wears today because it’s so strong and old-fashioned. It resembles Azzaro Onyx, also by Françoise Caron, but I prefer this one for its anise, juniper, and musk notes. Longevity is good, lasting 6-7 hours on my skin, with a moderate trail that radiates a personal aura for an hour. It has a touch of coriander, patchouli, and wood that gives it a ‘sigma male’ air: enigmatic, serious, and intensely interesting. It’s dark and nocturnal, without being scary, with a certain barbershop touch but more elegant and versatile than classic shaving scents. Therefore, it’s not an Old Spice, a Tabac, or a Drakkar Noir. It offers quite a low price for what it provides, around 25 to 35 euros/dollars for 100ml. I see the Silver Black as better suited for cool weather rather than heat. Nothing for sunny spring-summer mornings, terraces, or July-August parties where temperatures exceed 30°C, as it could overwhelm you. An elegant and mature men’s fragrance, for men aged 35 and up. Unfortunately, this Silver Black is not easy to find nowadays; you can only buy it from specialised websites or perfume outlets that have stock from a few years ago. Oh, and with this, forget about attracting compliments or anything else, although there are people (both women and men) who are obsessed (some say Gucci Guilty Absolute gets them compliments and helps them pick up women; I’m baffled). Personal enjoyment and olfactory footprint.

I’m not an expert, so no jargon, just my opinion. I’ve used it for the first week, and when I first apply it, it’s so strong that it even becomes uncomfortable, but after 15 minutes, it fades, and that’s when the party begins. The scent is super retro; my olfactory memory takes me back to my father’s era (I’m 48 years old). It lasts all day without needing reapplication. I see it as ideal for fresh or cold days and for work, but only if you have a semi-formal and serious style. I’m not looking for compliments; I use it because it brings back good memories and doesn’t bother me (only at the start). I’ll keep using it and might buy another bottle because the price is a bargain.

  • The scent is too soft, almost imperceptible (perhaps I got a faulty bottle); I only detect a hint of anise over a classic base reminiscent of Azaro Pour Homme. If you’re seeking discretion, they’ve achieved it perfectly. However, it’s a disappointment with an abysmal longevity.

  • It’s the opposite of the Pour Homme, my youth perfume that was elegant and pleasant. This one blocks out the best of the regular version; it sounds more mature, less intense, and somewhat muted. While it suits an older profile, I feel it kills the original’s potent opening. If you’re not looking for something low-key and mature, it’s not worth it. 3/5
