The 2018 Tocade smells endearing and timeless, with that touch that fits better in the last century. Its sweetness achieves precious roses and iris, with very talc-like fragments that remind me of the smell of my sister’s dolls and bygone times. Although it’s a sweet oriental, it knows how to play with its components, using nuanced labdanum and a very romantic rose. Perhaps today it has been modernised with tonka and almonds, but on my skin they are almost imperceptible. Its non-powdery talc-like vanilla constantly reunites its flowers; the amber comes to the end but acts in the background. I recognise it in someone with style who wears beauties that don’t bow their heads, although nowadays the great glories of the recent past receive an inadmissible visual categorisation in shops. I don’t know if it resembles the Tocade of old, impossible to calibrate, but its trail isn’t what one would expect from an oriental; its longevity on the skin is championship-level, leaving talc-like effluvia on a handkerchief for hours. It seems hyper-feminine, ideal for a young girl evolving backwards, moving away from current gourmands. Warning: although the bottle is pretty, don’t leave it without its box in the bathroom because the base is small and it can roll. I bet on this house for trying to relaunch the glories of the past, with the quality and beauty they have always stamped on every woman.

  • After keeping my two little bottles from the nineties and going through hating and loving it, I felt the need to buy it again. It no longer has the cap colour of before, but comparing my old bottle, which still smells super well, with the new one, I see little difference. I only feel roses, iris and vanilla, just as I remembered. With temperatures under 20 degrees I use it daily and I’m falling in love again, besides remembering the era when fragrances started to knock out my senses and make me addicted.

  • What I like most about this 2018 Tocade is that it maintains the design of its bottle from the nineties, although the fragrance also catches my attention; there is a note that is too plastic-like which gives me a headache. A sweet amber and an almond predominate, I repeat, plastic-like; I know that for the price you can’t ask for much more, but I perceive it constantly. On the plus side, it’s a sweet scent that isn’t cloying, with certain complexity and balance. It doesn’t remind me of any other fragrance, although at times, when smelling it up close, I get memories of Oud Satin Mood Extrait by Francis Kurkdjian in terms of construction, as if you put this perfume extract on a new doll. I would love to be able to smell the original without reformulation because, in itself, I like the scent a lot. High longevity, high trail, needing few sprays.

  • Excellent perfume at a good price. It’s a non-pastel vanilla, slightly talc-like, clean and with a non-citrus fresh touch. It’s not gourmand, but it is sweet and warm; it’s elegant and versatile, fitting in perfectly with any occasion. It has good longevity although its trail is soft. But being a vanilla fan, there is something that makes me feel a bit cloyed, perhaps due to too much talc-like vanilla. It reminds me of Want by Desquared, because they are purely vanilla scents, with different nuances, a clean base, sweet but never gourmand, elegant, warm and nostalgic. I prefer Want, one of my favourite perfumes; I love that aroma of an old doll.

  • I first discovered this bombshell through my mother, who has been wearing it for years and absolutely adores it, so I decided to buy it. It smells exactly as I remember: amber, vanilla, and tonka bean, all super potent and present throughout the entire evolution. There are intense and pleasant bursts of geranium and rose, which some might find overwhelming, but I simply love those shifts. As it dries down, the almond note really stands out, a delicious nuance. It’s unisex with a feminine touch, perfect for cool nights or days given its strength. Thanks to the brand for keeping it true to memory; it’s a timeless, enduring classic.

I got to know this amazing perfume because my mum had it years ago, and I remember how much she enjoyed using it, so I decided to buy it. Fortunately, it smells exactly as I remember: amber, vanilla and tonka bean, extremely potent. These three notes dominate the entire evolution, although it has floral bursts with geranium and rose, very pleasant and intense; some might find them too invasive, but I love those changes. On the dry down I notice the almond, a delicious nuance. It’s unisex, slightly feminine, ideal for cool nights or days due to its potency. Thanks to the house for keeping it after the reformulation; it’s timeless and imperishable.

What stands out most from start to finish is the geranium; the rose is barely noticeable, perhaps because the geranium takes the cat out of the bag. It’s rich due to that geranium with vanilla and amber, and that slightly bitter touch could be the labdanum. It’s not intrusive, lasting 4 or 5 hours on the skin with its bursts. It’s rich, somewhat talc-like but without being cloying. If you’re looking for a lot of trail or projection, this might not be your thing, but it’s a gem to discover. Perhaps it would go great layered with something rose-based.

This scent evokes the perfumes of elegant women from the eighties, those multicoloured and multifaceted ones that drew attention. I knew and used the 1994 Tocade, which I enjoyed greatly because it was a more wearable version than the 2018 one. First of all, this doesn’t resemble its predecessor. In the 2018 version there are many notes, but the most notable are four: geranium, tonka bean, labdanum and almond. When it dries down on my skin, it reduces to a geranium with very talc-like or cleanly powdery labdanum. It reminds me a lot of baby powder; if you like that sensation, this perfume is an excellent choice.

  • Sorry, why isn’t this gem talked about more? What a niche find this Tocade is. It’s wonderful to discover powerful, affordable perfumes that leave you breathless. It’s a geranium brought in a time capsule from the future, slightly mutated, and precisely for that reason, you can’t stop staring at it. Microplastics have been integrated into it, and you can even smell them, with vivid colours. Citrus, talc-like, sweet and brilliant. I think the bottle does justice to the juice inside. I see it as unisex; in fact, I think it could look spectacular on a man. Wow.
