What a marvel! The Vanille line from Van Cleef & Arpels is a rich vanilla with orchid. There’s no heavy sweetness; the florals refresh it, making it perfect for daily wear, work, or signing off, in any weather. I tend to use it more in summer because in winter I’m looking for something denser. It’s totally unisex, easy to wear, and lasts well for its 5-6 hours. It leaves a vanilla aura around you that’s noticeable only up close, but it lasts just enough. The price is very affordable and I love the brand; this is one of my favourites.
I assumed ‘Vanilla CEO’ would be a dark, gourmand vanilla, but I was mistaken; it’s a modern, soft version, lightened by cyclamen and jasmine. The bergamot and mandarin are barely noticeable, while the amber and woods provide depth. It’s a very subtle, almost intimate scent that clings to the skin without projecting much. I wear it all year round without issue, but I still feel the price doesn’t match the performance, as it lasts little once it leaves your skin.
