Descripción
Virgin Island Water 2007 by Creed is a citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2007, this composition was created by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed. The top notes unfold a tropical freshness with coconut, lime, white bergamot and Sicilian mandarin. The heart reveals spices and exotic flowers such as ginger, ylang-ylang, Indian jasmine and hibiscus. Finally, the base notes settle into a warm, woody foundation of white rum, sugarcane and musk.

The scent of summer. Delicious and evocative aroma. Its weakness is the poor longevity and trail, so it’s a very personal experience. It smells to me like high-quality sunscreen.
Marvellous. It’s summer in a bottle, it makes me happy. Simple in composition but masterfully achieved: coconut, lime, a touch of rum, notable quality and good performance for warm climates. Few scents give me so much happiness. It’s unisex and unlikely to bother anyone. If it weren’t for the price, I would buy it blind or as a gift. It’s definitely my favourite from Creed.
I was looking for something fresh for the office and the heat, with coconut, and found Virgin Island Water. Reviews say it smells of coconut, which I love, but I don’t perceive it: I only feel strong lemon, bergamot and perhaps ginger. Perhaps it doesn’t evolve on my skin. It’s not worth the price; I’ve tried more complex and long-lasting fragrances in this category; this disappears after three hours. Unisex 100%, scent 6/10, price 4/10, longevity 6/10, overall 6.5. Curious: the Creed seller said the rum is a myth because it doesn’t carry it… hmm.
Stunning.
Beautiful, I love it. I wore it yesterday for an afternoon and I can still detect it today. It opens with a masculine coconut, but then transforms into a unisex jewel. The coconut is present all the time, joined by jasmine and orange blossom; so rich, so creamy. It’s a different kind of coconut; although I’m not very keen on using it, I give this one a 10. Ideal for spring and autumn; in summer I find it too creamy, I prefer the freshness of chypre scents.
This should cost no more than 70 euros, like most perfumes from the house. Even rubbing a lemon peel you’ll get more projection and longevity than this supposed luxury from an overrated brand that fools the gullible.
I was keen to buy it and took the big step: I’m in love. Ideal for spring and summer; it comes out very strong on lemon but within minutes the coconut appears, which dominates. Soft, fresh and friendly, I didn’t stop smelling my arm all day. The longevity is good, around nine hours, with a medium trail, perfect for indoors without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend it.
If you have 250 euros to throw away, go ahead, what a letdown! I smelled it once with an acquaintance and liked it, but it was out of market waiting for an ingredient. Now that it’s available, I bought it and… original fresh notes, but it doesn’t last half an hour on skin or clothes. You only smell it when you apply it. Creed, what is this? Feeling like smashing the bottle against the door.
It evolves tremendously: it starts as an acidic, super refreshing and realistic lime, then ends up as a cocktail of coconut water with rum and lime slices that give an airy, cool touch. The coconut doesn’t smell like synthetic sun cream, but like real coconut water. It’s semi-sweet, slightly creamy, cool, boozy and natural. I’ve loved the evolution and the quality of the ingredients; it’s totally evocative. The only drawback, as others say, is that it lasts barely four hours with a low trail. Totally unisex and I love it.
Love at first sniff. The blend of coconut, lime and ginger is a triumph: sweet, acidic and spicy all at once. Cozy yet fresh, everything in perfect harmony. Although coconut usually evokes beach and summer, and that tropical name doesn’t help, I believe it shines more in other seasons. In summer it can feel a bit repetitive, yet paradoxically it’s very versatile. The performance is mediocre, typical of Creed. I understand the price and the lack of longevity, but that disappointment is constant with the house. My relationship with Virgin Island Water is bittersweet: I think if it were perfect, it would be boring. Those who can’t be comforted simply don’t want to, don’t they?
Perfect freshness. This perfume inspires me to lie on the beach with a wooden table, enjoying an iced coconut with rum, a magnificent and balanced combination: coconut water, rum and lemon. Uff. Sillage and longevity are uffffff and uffffff, quite substantial. Completely unisex, ideal to be the couple’s holiday beach fragrance.
I detect the citrus acidity blunting other notes that should have rounded out the aroma. I expected a summer cocktail based on the notes, but it smells like biting into a lime. I’ll try it again to see how it dries down; I lost last sample an hour ago and didn’t notice if that unpleasant acidity softened. Anyway, I wouldn’t pay more than 100-150 euros for 100ml.
Creed VIW smells like summer to me, like a late afternoon at a tropical beach bar sipping a crazy coconut drink; the tables have hibiscus vases that mingle their scent with the sea breeze, creating a brilliant atmosphere. The citrus and ginger are perceptible and add freshness. Good longevity and sillage.
Simply exquisite.
It feels watery and sweet, well-balanced, with softly caramelised citrus. The dry-down leans towards bleach and camphor that are initially alarming, but I love how they blend with the aquatic nuances. Once dried, it becomes charming—a light lemon caramel with a lingering pool chlorine note that I adore. It’s a very low-mineralisation mineral scent, something I always enjoy. It has a strong vapourwave vibe; it’s bold and far from boring. I expected something duller and more photorealistic, but no, it’s fake and plastic in the best possible way. The trick of using lemon with hibiscus acidity to neutralise the bleach is old, but here it’s used uniquely.
Mojito at the start and ultra-refreshing lemon granita at the dry-down with plenty of brown sugar. It’s exactly as I imagine it. Despite not liking fresh citrus, I would definitely wear this on a very hot day. Longevity and sillage are quite good for a perfume like this.
Finally, I could test it properly. After Malibu – Party in the Bay, yes, they resemble each other at the start. But Creed evolves into something creamier and more refined, whereas Malibu is citrusy and brash. I don’t see the point of owning both for summer and holidays. Performance is not explosive but lasts around 7 hours, which isn’t bad for this type of scent. In terms of aroma, the quality is evident; for me, it’s Top 1 alongside Malibu for summer, two absolute gems.
Hello, I expected more. I wanted strong lime and intense coconut. The opening is the best, but the dry-down is a disaster: acidic and overpowering, so it’s not for me. It’s more hype than a perfume. Silver Mountain Water is better and this doesn’t smell masculine at all, what a disappointment. I think this and Via Cavour 1 were my worst purchases.
Rich summer scent, of the beach, of the sun. Those who complain about poor skin longevity, a question: have you bought the original? I have a current batch F and the longevity isn’t crazy, but it’s not bad either, well above average. Moreover, my skin isn’t blessed with retaining perfumes.
When I first smelled it, the opening impressed me; that brash, high-quality lime scent was brutal. It didn’t hit me as hard as Royal Oud at the time, but now in summer I’m clear that it’s the best fragrance created for this season and everything it entails. It will be in my lifetime top 10 and Creed top 5. A masterpiece.
The opening caught me off guard; it smells like a Vicks box, which is odd but not unpleasant. Ten minutes in and the magic explodes: real coconut, lemon foam in an icy drink, and playful ginger that smells like a sea breeze. I feel myself floating with constant bursts. I wore it at 11 and by 4, heading out of work, the scent was still beautiful and I adored it. I went in to buy something and a stranger followed me with that aroma; I thought, ‘It smells incredible’ and ‘OMG, it’s me.’ By two hours it was fresher, like straight out of the shower. Super smart buy.
As for the scent, coconut and green lime predominate. The coconut isn’t dense or tiring, quite the opposite: it’s clean coconut water. Together with the green lime and other notes, it makes this the best tropical perfume for me. It’s very striking, people like it a lot, and it’s the most asked about. It has very good longevity and doesn’t smell synthetic like others I’ve tried; it smells very natural and high quality.
Second time wearing it and I have to swallow my words from the comment a month ago. The lime and coconut create an exquisite sweetness, it smells classy. This perfume lasts; it’s not like people say it lasts nothing, I’ve been smelling it constantly. Recommended for people with several perfumes because this is pure summer. I think not all men would wear it. Regards, good longevity, rich scent, nothing like it. 9.5 out of 10.
Virgin Island Creed: the one that made me contradict myself most… Initially, it was an absolute rejection. But I didn’t let that stand; I wore it for several days and my surprise was immense: at work, people started complimenting how good I smelled. Seriously? An evolving fragrance. The opening is disorienting, very sweet from the coconut, then the citrus calms it down. It remains changeable and contrasting: the sweetness and freshness blend with a touch of bitterness and acidity in an unconventional but magnificent way. I won’t lie, on first sniff I thought of gifting it. Wearing it consecutively taught me my first impression was wrong. Perhaps I expected total freshness that never arrived, hence the rejection. It’s one of the few that manages to evolve an aroma from good to much better. Not strictly masculine, it’s unisex; women can wear it without issue. Despite the compliments and my recommendation, I admit it’s not for me; I don’t enjoy smelling like this, and it’s not easy; it requires several opportunities to understand its beauty. For hot, sunny days. Generates compliments. Scent: 9. Projection: Good. Longevity: 6 hours on skin, 8 on clothes.
One of Creed’s most characterful scents, breaking the brand’s classic mould. Appears fresh but packed with nuances: citrus opening accompanied by a very light, measured coconut water note – not cloying or dense like sunscreen, yet heavier than a standard citrus. As it dries, it loses some freshness, gaining body from a subtle white floral sweetness. It doesn’t smell of rum or alcohol, but the citrus/coconut/sweetness blend evokes a beach bar cocktail, while the musk adds a soapy tone. I emphasise the delicacy of the coconut, a note I usually dislike. The sweetness adds density without being excessive; perhaps not ideal in extreme heat despite the name. Excellent perfumer work. Good longevity and moderate projection. Summer and spring are its habitats, though it could work in autumn too. Casual or semi-casual, not for the office due to its holiday vibe, but perfect for a walk or informal meet-up.
The first time I tried it, it didn’t convince me and I didn’t buy it. Time passed, I saw an offer and jumped in thinking I’d have to sell it due to the memory. Well, I like it a lot, especially the dry down. I’m looking forward to trying it this summer. It’s a summer vibe; it seems like the coconut might overwhelm, but no, it has evolution and the dry down is brilliant. I recommend trying it several times, especially men, because I thought it might smell feminine, but no, it’s unisex.
Silver Mountain Water is my favourite Creed, always with me, but with this Virgin Island I see that the surname ‘water’ gives me strange sensations. Creed doesn’t take things lightly; apart from Aventus, they aren’t mainstream enough to please everyone (and I’m included). Having Silver Mountain Water among my favourites, I tried a decant. The opening was wonderful, so refreshing! Citrus and coconut, a marvellous combination elevated to a superior level thanks to Creed’s talent. It’s a beach fragrance, summer, chilling with a cocktail by the sea; it makes me want to go on holiday already. It dries down sweet, but not a teenage sweet, it’s subtle and gives body to the volatility. Longevity: about 6 hours with moderate projection, enough for it to come close subtly. An authentic summer delight. I’ll go for the full bottle.
Incredible aroma, but the performance leaves something to be desired. I’m a beginner in niche perfumes; I tried Creed Aventus and found it boring due to its low performance. I bought a decant of this Virgin Island Water and was pleasantly surprised: it smells great, is more original and has personality without being bold. If you like summer scents, you’ll like it. It opens with a very pronounced and pleasant lime note that lasts the whole time, blending perfectly with other notes. Then comes a soft coconut, nothing overpowering, with a sweetness that balances everything. Imagine a cold, creamy piña colada with lots of lime and refreshing coconut water. The performance disappointed me: after 2 hours it’s just skin scent, very intimate. That’s the downside. Scent 9.5/10, longevity 5 hours, low projection. I found it more masculine, although it is unisex. For ages 20-35.
Simple, discreet and very pleasant aroma reminiscent of coconut suntan lotion. Clear notes: coconut, lemon and musk. Perfect balance between the warmth of the coconut and the freshness of the lemon; it’s not heavy, it’s light. If you like the smell of beach suntan cream, you’ll love this; it’s that aroma but more refined and fresh. It doesn’t project much, so it’s not overwhelming, blends well with skin and clothes. I liked it and recommend it for anyone seeking that coastal coconut touch.
Fresh yet with a creamy touch from the coconut. I agree with the positive reviews: it’s a good fragrance, though it smells like mall toilet paper (in a good way), disinfectant, or freshly ironed white t-shirt. That sense of cleanliness is what I notice, and although they didn’t tell me the exact name, several people comment that it smells like a shopping centre. Perhaps the weather plays a part; if it’s below 22 degrees, the perception would change. Performance is decent, almost good, with solid longevity and projection, but that disinfectant note prevents me from enjoying it 100%.
To the people who talk about zero trail and longevity, let me remind you that this is not Megamare. It happens to all Creeds. To appreciate them you must spray generously: we are talking about 10-12 sprays. Then you can analyse the perfume. People who expect 2 shots of VIW to last as long as 2 of Oud Maracuja… Obviously, it hurts 99% of mortals to apply 12 sprays of an Aventus or VIW that costs you 300€ for the bottle. But if that’s the case, you might as well buy a Cedrat Boise for 80 euros.
A simple scent of excellent quality: a soft, creamy, sexy, and round coconut that goes perfectly for both genders. However, when one wants to invest in a truly expensive fragrance like Creed, one expects adequate performance for what is paid, beyond the scent and impeccable presentation. This perfume lasts me at most 4 hours, with average projection during the first 2 and then it sticks to the skin until it fades. While I won’t ask for beastly performance for this type of scent, it seems like a joke that they ask for such a fortune if we judge it by its performance, since the scent is an absolute delight. If you have the money to enjoy it without it hurting to reapply every 2 hours, it is one of the best summer fragrances ever created.
It’s a fantastic perfume in every sense… Fresh, with a quite marked but very balanced coconut note. It’s something like a piña colada, but with notes that make it smell masculine; I don’t think it’s unisex at all. Ideal for hot days, it feels natural, it makes you feel like you’re at the sea. The only thing I would change is its longevity and trail, a bit low for its price. I usually use between 10 and 15 sprays. Rating: Scent 10/10, Longevity 6/10, Projection 6/10, Presentation 10/10, Versatility 8/10. Total: 8/10.
Greetings to all: Today I had the pleasure of testing this fragrance on skin, a decant!! WOW!!, it smells wonderfully well, no doubt, I love it. It is pure summer, although I think that due to how long it lasts on my skin, it feels like an extremely short summer. Perhaps it lasts the necessary time for others to enjoy it.
What more can be said that hasn’t been said before about VIW? I managed to get a partial bottle of a first batch a few months ago, what luck to have been able to acquire it… A fragrance summarised in a sparkling citrus opening, from which a soft halo of lime remains accompanied by the coconut accord and a very vibrant white rum. I’ve tried a sample of a 2022 batch, where slight changes are noticeable; I don’t know if they are due to the maceration time of my bottle or reformulations (likely after almost 20 years on the market). In my opinion, in current batches the citrus and vanilla notes predominate more than the flowers, coconut, or rum. Personally, I don’t perceive sugar as a protagonist, but rather as part of the sweetness of the other accords. I recently acquired Malibu Party in the Bay by Simone Andreoli: while they follow the same path, they diverge in the early stages. Malibu comes out with an overwhelming, expansive, and loud lime, with a slow dry-down that lets the coconut and, in this case, a much more direct sweet sugar note be felt. The main difference is that in Creed the white rum is the clear protagonist. And if VIW has any flaw, it is precisely what Malibu Party excels at: the performance. While VIW’s projection is good, Malibu Party’s is INVASIVE. In longevity, it far surpasses VIW. In summary, comparing them side by side, one notices a much greater roundness and quality in Creed. Conclusion: Acceptable longevity of 7 hours, good projection of 2 metres, a composition that continues to stand out and please, quality in the best Creed style and price… well, something had to be wrong.
I’ve tested it many times and worn it several times; what a piece of perfume. For me, one of the best for summer; the scent conveys calm, holidays, being relaxed with a cocktail. It opens with a lime that is not too sharp, a bit citrusy, and the coconut is there from the start, but it’s not a coconut smell per se, it’s the smell of coconut water, excellent. As it dries down, the lime and citrus parts drop, leaving more of the coconut water with the rum and sugarcane, a sweetened cocktail. Problem: ITS LONGEVITY. After 2-3 hours at least on my skin, there’s nothing left. If it happens to you as it does to me and you love it but it doesn’t last, a good alternative is Malibu Party in the Bay; they aren’t the same but they go very much in the same line. Scent: 10/10. Longevity: 3/10h. Projection: 5/10. Versatility: 5/10. (I don’t see it outside of summer).
Bottled summer: tropical, distinct, sexy, one of the best I’ve ever smelled. Coconut and rum with a sharp, sparkling lime that wraps around that duo. Pity the poor performance; there’s already an Arabic copy whose scent is practically identical (Coconut Lagoon, Paris Corner), I just need to check the longevity and the rest.
My friend @adryens has nailed the comment literally, not just for this Virgin Island Water, but for all Creed fragrances and the complaints about longevity, which are already getting tedious. I subscribe to his words 100% because it’s impossible to write better: This is not Megamare. EXACTLY!!!!
It smells basically of coconut and lime, with a mojito touch. It’s not a coconut like Le Beau or similar, which are sweet and heavy; it’s a fresh, refreshing coconut, with that typical Creed feeling of quality and naturalness, although ‘natural’ is a bit of a stretch. A coconut that calls you closer rather than pushing you away. It has acceptable longevity and projection, better than MI or SMW from the same house. It’s a gem for summer, I think it’s excellent.
What a rich scent, for real. I loved it years ago, and although I haven’t commented before, if you have nothing good to say, it’s better to stay silent. But this comment is just to celebrate how well VIW CREED performed, disappointing only in longevity for all the fans. So I found a niche: I bought a decant and I’m already on my way to buying the bottle. Without a doubt, it surpasses what VIW Creed couldn’t be. This ‘Maraviglia Profumo di Firenze’ does it with more elegance, both in longevity and scent. I’ll leave it to the DNA fans: try it and review it.👍🏻
