Descripción

Himalaya by Creed is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed. The top notes unfold with Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit, and Sicilian lemon; the heart reveals an enveloping sandalwood; while the base notes settle on musk, ambergris, and cedar.

It’s an elegant and non-intrusive perfume that knows how to be very good in many occasions. Although its components are simple, they are combined brilliantly, and you can tell the essences are first quality; from the simple, something very grand is perceived. Truly magnificent.

Creed Himalaya is among the best tested from the English house (which later became French). A citrus opening with a very perceptible natural lemon gives way to a heart of soft, masculine woods, which then turns into an oriental base thanks to the sandalwood. The secret is a composition of familiar notes put together in such a way that they make the fragrance beautiful, all natural as is the norm in Creed. Without being pretentious, it attracts others and results in sublime communication. It’s timeless, suitable for all uses and times of day, including night and special events. Elegant, pretty, not intrusive, and always generously pleasing.

My opinion is that it has very familiar notes, but they are masterfully composed to achieve so much. It’s all-terrain and elegant like few others. The person’s pH always decides if it’s better or worse. It hasn’t failed me at social events or in my free time; French friends praised it. The real test is that I repurchased the 120 ml bottle. I would complain that it’s expensive for a longevity that is good at skin level and depends on the wind. After testing niche fragrances over 400 euros, I’ll keep my mouth shut. Value for money has to be sought within what our pH allows; that is success, like wine you like. What you like is good; the unattainable is in other galaxies.

I had high expectations, but for me, it was a disappointment. It doesn’t smell good to everyone given the exclusive price, but I really don’t think it’s good. Some people might feel powerful because of the price, not the fragrance. That said, the packaging and bottle are top-notch; I’d give it 5 out of 10. To anyone who asks and doesn’t know it, I say they’re not missing out much.

I had high expectations but it was disappointing. You can’t smell it on anyone else for the exclusive price, but honestly, I don’t think it is good. Some feel powerful just because of the price, not the scent. The packaging and bottle are top-notch, so I give it 5/10. To those who ask me and don’t know it, I say they are missing out on something great.

It’s a well-structured musky fragrance of high quality; perhaps not too original, but it has elegance and versatility in abundance, two reasons enough to try it. Himalaya is a masculine and timeless perfume with a refined scent that, although perceived with a certain looseness, is not aggressive at all. It can be worn easily in all seasons and occasions.

  • It starts with fairly natural and balanced citrus, especially the Sicilian lemon (though not as natural as in Annick Goutal). I also thought I could smell neroli. After five hours, the sandalwood and a salty sensation from the ambergris are clearly noticeable; here it feels right, unlike the Dior Sauvage which I didn’t like. At ten hours, there’s a musky sensation with soft sandalwood. At twelve hours, residual musk and cedar. With the 1 ml sample, the trail was heavy-moderate for the first three hours, then moderate for another three, and the last six hours were skin scent. It’s a soft woody oriental, ideal for spring and daytime use. Supposedly the heart is sandalwood, but I didn’t find it impactful; I prefer the sandalwood in Chanel, where it has more personality; here it’s very shy.

  • I agree with Juancar: Himalaya, alongside Silver Mountain Water, is the best of Creed in terms of scent, longevity and sillage thanks to that powerful sandalwood and musk base where cedar and citrus cling for up to 12-13 hours. It is more masculine, easy to wear, refreshing and icy. Without pretensions or showy notes, with just four simple ingredients it creates a rounded, high-quality composition. It is worth paying for a Creed if you and your skin are made for it; if it suits you, people will fall in love with it and point you out anywhere. It is worth trying. In my case, Himalaya or Erolfa are brutal in their simplicity, whereas Green Irish Tweed smells like a swimming pool wardrobe. Undisputed quality. 9/10.

  • I agree with Juancar: Himalaya and Silver Mountain Water are the best of Creed, both in scent and longevity. Thanks to that powerful base of sandalwood and musk, the other notes cling to the skin, creating magic. It smells of cedar and citrus for up to 12 or 13 hours afterwards. It’s more masculine, easy to wear, refreshing and crisp. It has no pretensions or weird notes; with just four simple notes, it creates a rounded, high-quality composition. It’s worth paying for a Creed if your skin is made for it. If it suits you, people fall in love with it, you get compliments, and you’re noticed everywhere. It’s worth trying. In my case, Himalaya or Erolfa are brutal in their simplicity, whereas Green Irish Tweed smells like a pool hall to me. Undisputable quality. 9/10.

Creed Himalaya is my top pick from the house: incredibly versatile and fresh. The opening is brilliant, and the dry-down is magical thanks to the sandalwood and ambergris that balance everything perfectly. It smells distinctly masculine, lasts over eight hours, and has a moderate trail that’s always present. It works best in spring and summer. I receive plenty of compliments, and with so few notes, it proves to be high quality. The bottle is gorgeous. Himalaya rates an 8! The great underrated gem from Creed.

Few ingredients for a masterpiece perhaps eclipsed by the popularity of its brother Aventus, but undoubtedly as (or more) enjoyable on any occasion and at any hour. After a delicious citrus opening typical of its DNA, everything flows smoothly; the sandalwood is masterfully balanced with the citrus to the point where I seem to detect an undeclared vetiver, possibly a mirage, but I’m impressed by the similarity to some Roja Dove compositions, characterised by their excellence. After 4 hours, it dries down to a fine woody-musky scent reminiscent of Amouage’s Reflection Man, but less soapy and intense… an authentic delight from start to finish, with correct projection and sufficient longevity. Himalaya is a success even in a blind buy, a clean, easy-to-wear, and incredibly elegant scent from which you can never get bored, and everyone should enjoy at least once. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed the dry-down of any fragrance more than with this Himalaya from Creed; it’s simply memorable. With others, we reach 6-7 hours as a shadow of what they offered at the start, but with Himalaya, after applying a small amount to the forearm, the real pleasure begins: an amber delight that needs no further arguments to place itself among the greats, aiming for the top, where there’s only room for the best creations.

  • Many people think of Creed Aventus, which is good but loses its exclusivity. Himalaya is more exclusive because very few know about it. It turns the familiar 360 degrees and is very rarely imitated. If Aventus has masculinity, Himalaya surpasses it by being bolder. My advice: try all of Creed’s hidden gems before buying Aventus; it might be the one for you. I give it 9/10 for being extraordinary and unique. NOTE: always test on clothes and skin before buying, not all are for everyone.

  • Many people think of Creed and immediately jump to Aventus, which is good but leaves behind exclusivity. Himalaya is more exclusive because very few know it. It gives a 360-degree twist to everything familiar and is rarely imitated. If Aventus has masculinity, Himalaya puts it in its place by being more masculine and daring. My advice: try all the Creed fragrances before deciding on Aventus; there are many hidden gems, and this could be the one. I give it 9/10 for being extraordinary and unique. WARNING: always test on clothes and skin before buying Creed, as not all are for everyone.

A fragrance that reminded me of one from my youth from an Avon catalogue someone gave me, which I later passed on because it was too intense for my taste. But this one takes the crown; it’s a beast in terms of scent and projection, with top-quality ingredients and brutal longevity. It’s not just brute force, but ‘die-hard’ endurance. With a single spray, it’s more than enough. I’d recommend it… obviously, in a blind buy… obviously not. Try it first if you’re sensitive to strong scents.

  • Rafa_1985

One of my top three from this house: fresh, elegant, and potent. Give it a chance; it’s an excellent option from the house. A classy citrus opening with a wonderful dry-down where the sandalwood and amber work magic. On my skin, it lasts 7 hours with a moderate trail for another 3-4 hours. Highly recommended.

Himalaya smells like Paco Rabanne XS (1994), which in turn is very similar to Adolfo Domínguez Agua Fresca (1993). As both were created by geniuses such as Ramón Monegal and Rosendo Mateu, it is no surprise they share much of their olfactive pyramid. XS is less sharp and more herbal, whereas Himalaya is more refined, boasting a rich woody, musky and amber base. On my skin it lasts over 10 hours even above 30 degrees, although it doesn’t project much: it’s a personal bubble for 2-3 hours, then just 10 cm of skin for another 3-4. It is pleasant, versatile and dresses well, ideal as a signature scent, but it isn’t exclusive and I think it is overpriced, au revoir!

Himalaya bears a striking resemblance to Paco Rabanne’s XS (1994), which in turn recalls Adolfo Domínguez’s Agua Fresca (1993); ultimately, it smells very much like that AD fragrance. Since Domínguez’s was created by Ramón Monegal and Rabanne’s by Rosendo Mateu, it’s no surprise it draws inspiration from AD; indeed, they share much of their pyramid. XS is less sharp and slightly more herbal. Himalaya is more refined than XS, boasting a rich woody, musky, and amber base. The longevity on my skin is brutal, lasting over 10 hours even above 30 degrees. It doesn’t project much, being more of a personal bubble for 2-3 hours, then lingering on the skin for another 3-4 hours at arm’s length. It’s delightful, widely liked, versatile, and dresses well; it’s the classic that can serve as a great signature scent. Its main drawback is that it isn’t exclusive, and, like all Creeds, I find it overpriced. Au revoir.

Exquisite if you like barbershop-style scents. In short, it’s the barbershop of Creed. If you already own Platinum Egoiste, Percival, Fierce, Legend… you won’t find anything new.

  • This perfume sparked a great interest in perfumery for me since I tried it at Perfumerías Julia in Santander and it shocked me. I didn’t expect such an impact; literally time stood still. My parents are perfume enthusiasts who appreciate fine scents, but I had never felt anything like this. The opening is citrusy, but soon makes way for sandalwood and amber; the opening is perhaps the best part. It lasts moderately little, I forget it after half an hour, but others do perceive it because you get used to it quickly, which doesn’t happen with Sauvage Elixir. It smells like a spiritual master, a middle-aged man: it doesn’t incite, but instils respect and close authority. Whoever wears it comes from everywhere, confident without making a show, and is the kind of person you always want near.

  • This perfume has sparked my interest in perfumery since I saw it at Perfumerías Julia in Santander and left me speechless. I never expected a scent to have such an impact; literally, time stood still. I’ve tried many quality fragrances since I was young as my parents are fans of certain high-value perfumes, but I never felt anything like this. The opening is citrusy but soon gives way to sandalwood and amber; the dry down is excellent, perhaps the best for me. It doesn’t last long, fading on me in just over half an hour, but those around you do notice it. You get used to it quickly, which doesn’t happen with Sauvage Elixir. It smells like a spiritual master, a middle-aged man: it incites nothing but infuses respect and a close sense of authority. You know the wearer comes from far away, doesn’t look down on you but observes you with affection, waiting for you to realise that what happens to you is due to stupidity, not bad luck. The wearer is above trends, confident without trying, and is the kind of person you always want close by.

  • What a delight. A supremely elegant aroma, perfect for the day and warm weather. Citrus, lavender and sandalwood as it dries down. Something mature.

  • Memoquique

A crack fragrance from Creed, for a reason it’s the most copied house in history. Fresh, ideal for the heat; it refreshes me just by putting it on (or is it a good placebo playing with the mind?). Longevity and projection are moderate, as with all Creed fragrances and any scent with so many natural ingredients, you get that.

  • Von Bourbon

Citrus, sandalwood and white musk for those with a refined sense of smell. Top quality and very well balanced, with a discreet trail… but it doesn’t smell like Himalaya, ice, cypress or Buddhist temple incense. There’s too much sandalwood (fortunately it mellows), which clogs my brain and reminds me of Zara, even though it’s natural. A good perfume, but it lacks complexity for the price. Not for me.

  • jackmonteria

Very eighties, like Boucheron. The opening is citrusy, but then it changes completely towards the feminine due to the talcum powder notes. I would not buy it again; I only bought it for the price, not for the scent in the end.

  • A fantastic perfume… from the best houses for spring/summer. It has given me the best positive reactions.

  • Creed Himalaya disappointed me quite a bit. It claims to be fresh, refreshing and citrusy, but I found the exact opposite. I detected no citrus; only dry, earthy cedar, heavy animal ambergris, and green, herbal notes that aren’t declared but are clearly present. It is a fragrance that feels rancid.

  • Creed Himalaya disappointed me quite a bit. It claims to be fresh, refreshing, and citrusy, but it is not. I did not perceive any citrus, only dry and earthy cedar, animal and heavy ambergris, plus green and herbal notes that are not listed. It feels rancid.

  • Timeless, vibrant, and versatile joy. It is a superlative freshness that performs even in winter. It is therapeutic and changes the mood. The opening is almost medicinal, mentholated like the football spray of the 80s, then it dries down to woody and musky without losing freshness. The gunpowder note at 15 minutes gives it a crazy twist. It bears a similarity to XS EDT, but this smells more generic and vintage; here the quality is palpable from the start. XS is more fugue-like and green, while Himalaya is frozen nature. In short: ‘Frozen nature’. Ideal for cold winters. An alternative to Platinum Egoïste. Total buy.

  • Clean, citrusy, and soapy scent with an eighties vibe. It probably won’t appeal to those under 30, not because of a bad smell, but because it evokes old-fashioned barbershops. I detect citrus, lavender, and musk; I do not smell sandalwood or ambergris. It has personality and elegance, but I struggle to rate it as niche quality because it reminds me of designer perfumes. For spring/summer, daily wear, with average longevity and projection. It polarises opinions: to me, it seems one of the weakest from Creed, although I know others love it. Everything is respectable.

  • xavi40rios

It smells similar to Green Irish Tweed but without the fresh forest; the sandalwood is very noticeable and the bergamot makes it citrusy, fresh, and delicious. If you are looking for a perfume for spring and summer, I recommend it.

  • Creed Himalaya is fresh yet cool, clean with a distinctive touch of sandalwood. It has a vintage air but is timeless, of sublime quality and versatile for many occasions. I liked it very much: it is simple but full of style and elegance, conveying class. It is worth every penny for the sensory experience. Recommend it so you can draw your own conclusions.

  • I received the best compliment of my life: someone told me I smell like new clothes and freshly showered. I always wear it in the morning when I go out.

  • Wlad Molina

Smells like detergent without fabric softener. It opens herbal and vintage with fresh citrus, serious at first but then softens to freshly laundered clothes. The musk dominates with crystal purity. It is not aquatic; it is a dry, clean freshness, ideal for heat, the gym, or bed. Suitable for any age due to that sense of order. My rating: 8/10. It is a reliable alternative to Creed, elegant and fresh.

  • It gives me a headache and feels suffocating; it smells like laundry powder and sandalwood. I don’t detect the citrus notes at all; it feels very cold, like a steel iron. Nevertheless, I love it: it is rich, charming, timeless, and of impeccable quality. Scent 7.5/10, Price 3/10, Projection 7/10, Longevity 7/10.
