Descripción
Wild Vanilla Orchid by Floral Street is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Upon release, the fragrance unfolds a vibrant combination of vanilla flower, cassis, and citrus; the heart reveals a harmony of bamboo, flowers, and jasmine; while the base settles on a warm and enveloping foundation of vanilla bean, sandalwood, orchid, and patchouli.

So far, this is the Floral Street scent I’ve liked the most: it opens green and citrusy, perhaps due to the bamboo or currant, with a vanilla that sweetens it without going overboard, very pretty, and with a touch of patchouli that gives it character but makes it easy to wear. It feels creamy as it dries. It reminded me of Vanilla Woods by 7V in the opening, but this one becomes more floral. On my skin, the longevity is very poor, less than 4 hours, and it sits almost right up against the skin.
I detect a very intense fruitiness that smells like that typical commercial and synthetic ‘fruitchuli’. I can’t find any green notes anywhere.
The opening is lovely, juicy, and reveals fruity vanilla with tropical and green notes. It smells of red fruits and a strange banana, dominated by jasmine. As it evolves, sandalwood and patchouli appear, but without making it heavy or formal; it remains very relaxed. If you’re looking for woody vanilla, this isn’t it; here, the fruity and floral notes take charge. It reminds me of Decadence, but this is more jovial, whereas Decadence is deeper. Less similar to Si by Armani or Aura. Moderate trail and 5-hour longevity, a bit short for the price, although it sometimes goes on offer at Sephora. I tried layering it with Casablanca by Swiss Arabian, and it looks beautiful, fixing the scent well. If you don’t have the discontinued Decadence, this is a good alternative, though to be honest, if you already have it, it’s redundant. The atomisers on the samples are dreadful for the price. Scent 8/10, Longevity 5/10, Trail 7/10, Value for money 6/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? I didn’t purchase it.
Undoubtedly my favourite from the house. It opens fruity, juicy, and sparkling, blending quickly with the jasmine. The dry-down is woody and vanilla-like, featuring a sweet, creamy green vanilla, nothing sharp. Simple at first glance, yet special. It resembles Poets of Berlin, though this one is more citrus-floral while the other is greener. Longevity is around 6 hours with moderate projection. I picked it up in Scotland as it’s no longer available in Spain, what a joy!
What a pity the longevity is so short for something so delicious, versatile, and well-blended. The dark vanilla balances nicely with the green touch of the fragrance, but the trail fades in just a few hours without leaving a trace. I love that it’s cruelty-free and vegan, but the performance falls short (except for Chypre Sublime). I also take issue with the bottles; they look like egg cartons with rubber bands; they could be more aesthetic and eco-friendly without complications.
