Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker is a musky floral woody fragrance for women. Launched in 2007, this composition was created by Ann Gottlieb and Frank Voelkl. The top notes unfold with Sicilian lemon, Sicilian lime, lavender, dark chocolate and geranium leaves; the heart reveals valley lily, honeysuckle and magnolia; while the base notes settle on musk, cashmere wood, teak, vetiver and amber.

With Covet, I do not go unnoticed; people ask what I am wearing and find it delicious. It has high notes of chocolate, which are difficult to find in my country even at an affordable price. I love it and think it suits dark or brunette hair beautifully. It may seem common to others, but it fits me perfectly.
When I wear Covet, I do not go unnoticed; people ask what perfume I am wearing and find it delicious. It has high notes of chocolate, and in my country, it is difficult to find even at an affordable price. I like it very much and think it suits dark or brunette hair beautifully. For some people, it may seem like a common scent, but I personally love it and feel it suits me perfectly.
I loved it so much I couldn’t finish the bottle and bought it again. It is a special blend of sweet, creamy flowers. As with almost all perfumes, it eventually became a bit of a bore for me, so I gifted it to my mother and it suits her fabulously; it is an ageless scent for her too.
Covet smells divine; it reminds me of La Perle and that champagne I was gifted years ago, perhaps due to the vetiver. It is fresh, pleasant, not tiring or overwhelming, with good longevity and sillage. Ideal for spring and summer, and yes, it has no age limit.
Do not test this at the door, as the opening is chemical and can be startling, but it then explodes into a bitter, natural cocoa, like green chocolate. It smells original, discreet, and elegant, very unisex. If you catch it at a good price, do not miss out.
I have the smallest bottle and it’s a gem, gorgeous with that green tone and the cap like a jewel. The scent is citrus-floral and slightly herbal. The lime stands out mixed with a herbal-floral touch and something like a tiny bit of woody (I suppose the teak) and a tiny bit of very subtle chocolate.
Very rare, a fragrance that does not smell of trend, grilled petas, or bacon with saccharine. First shot is green, ugly, and raw, like white asparagus stalks with a Nivea cream tone. While that mother-musk/muguet aroma persists, an unsweetened cocoa enters, slab cocoa, the cocoa that would be in a still life without adornments, classic. Without seeing the notes, I knew it carried hibiscus or geranium; I caught that characteristic thick, milky flower tone within ten minutes, which I find little grace. Furthermore, as it never fails, they are always accompanied by cashmere, musk, or muguet to aim for a fluffy, clean tone. In the vein of typical women’s lotions with simple tastes, musky, creamy, white, smelling of wool and hand cream. Familiar to Chloé, Fresh Water of Roses, Cerruti 1881, Glow JLo, and Alessandro Dell’Acqua, but with cocoa and green nuances. Recommended; it does not wish to be more than it is, and merely by adding another updated member to this disused family, it is interesting. (I love the bottle and the green tone of the box and the liquid).
Very rare, a celebrity fragrance that doesn’t smell like a trend, nor burnt ‘peta zetas’, nor bacon with saccharin. First shot is green, ugly and raw, like white asparagus stalks with a creamy tone. While that mother-of-musk/patchouli aroma persists, an unsweetened cocoa enters, slab cocoa, the kind from a classic still life. Without seeing the notes, I knew it had hibiscus or pelargonium; after ten minutes, I caught that thick, milky flower tone that I find so unappealing. Besides, it never fails, they’re always accompanied by cashmere, musk, or patchouli to aim for that sponge-clean tone. In the vein of typical women’s lotions for simple tastes, musky, creamy, white, smelling of wool and hand cream. Familiar to Chloé, Fresh Water of Roses, Cerruti 1881, Glow JLo, and Alessandro Dell’Acqua, but with cocoa and green nuances. Recommended; it doesn’t want to be more than it is, and for adding an updated member to this disused family, it’s already interesting. (I love the bottle and the green tone of the box and the liquid).
Divine. I find it a very elegant, recognisable, and very different scent from the rest of my collection. Citrus, green, floral, fresh… all bathed in chocolate. Good longevity and sillage. One of my favourites. Pity they say it was reformulated. Scent 8/10, longevity 7/10, sillage 7/10, value for money 7/10, versatility 7/10, packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? I already have a refill of the reformulated version and will tell you if it changes much much. NOTE ON THE REFORMULATED VERSION: From my point of view, it’s worth it, especially at the economical price it has now in Spain, around €10 for 100ml. The scent is the same as before and still has excellent sillage and longevity.
Divine. It smells super elegant and is the only one in my collection that does not resemble the others. It is citrus, green, floral, and fresh, all bathed in chocolate. It has good longevity and sillage. It is one of my favourites. What a pity they say it has been reformulated. Rating: Longevity 8/10, Sillage 7/10, Quality/Price 7/10, Versatility 7/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? I already have a refill of the new version and will tell you if it smells different. NOTE ON THE NEW VERSION: From my point of view, it is totally worth it, especially at such a great price in Spain, around €10 for 100ml. It smells the same as the previous version and still has incredible sillage and longevity.
Beautiful floral fragrance. It reminded me a lot of Magnolia by Acqua di Parma. Highly recommended at 100% if you’re looking for a potent, elegant, and beautiful white flower scent.
It’s a perfume I’ve loved. At first, it smells strange, like glue, but then it passes. I wore it this morning and I noticed a herbal, creamy, slightly sweet scent that achieves a different and elegant combination. Very original, wonderful, without being overwhelming. Ridiculous price. How good. Another almost unknown perfume that not everyone will smell and which I won’t stop wearing this summer. Thanks.
Covet is starting to grow on me and has exceeded my expectations. It’s an unusual perfume with a bold combination. Although it’s classified as a musky floral woody, the chocolate gives it a gourmand touch without being sweet. The opening is citrusy, like lime, and I think what others comment on as a chemical or glue smell is the lavender; together with the lime and the chocolate base, it creates that impression. The lavender can be strong, and yes, there is chemistry to recreate these notes, but it softens in minutes and the dark chocolate wraps everything up deliciously. When I bought it, I was on holiday and I bought a bar of dark chocolate with lavender; enjoying it while wearing the perfume is an incredible parallel. The flowers in the heart phase are secondary actors, hidden between waves of chocolate, lime, and lavender. The green and woody notes of vetiver peek through. The chocolate remains in the dry down, becoming powdery. A delight. I’m delighted, although I wonder if this strange character will tire me out one day. I wouldn’t wear it every day, but I’d buy it again because it doesn’t disappoint in longevity and sillage. With about six sprays, I notice it for 6 hours and then just on the skin. Sillage is over a metre, proven.
Covet is pleasing to me and has exceeded my expectations. It is an unusual perfume in its evolution, with a daring combination of notes. Although classified as a woody floral musk, the chocolate gives it a gourmand touch, though not sweet. Its opening is citrusy, like lime and lemon, and I believe what other reviews comment on the chemical or glue-like smell is the lavender, which, together with the lemon and the chocolatey base, gives that impression. And yes, lavender can be a quite strong scent. I do not doubt that this perfume will have its fair share of chemistry to recreate these notes. However, this softens in a few minutes, and the well-dark chocolate wraps everything deliciously. When I bought it, I was on holiday and entered a ‘delicatessen’ shop and bought a bar of black chocolate with lavender, which I enjoyed even more due to the parallel of eating it while wearing Covet. The flowers of the middle phase are barely perceptible; they are the secondary actors, hidden between waves of chocolate, lemon, and lavender. The green and woody notes of vetiver and woods appear. The chocolate continues through the dry down, becoming powdery. A delight. For now, I am delighted, although it is one of those perfumes where I wonder if it will eventually bore me due to this strange character. Although I do not plan to wear it every day. For now, I would buy it again because it does not disappoint in longevity and sillage. With about six sprays, I perceive it effortlessly for about six hours, and then it stays close to the skin. Sillage of over a metre to start with, proven because I have asked.
I had it for a ridiculously low price and didn’t hesitate to buy it. The opening is very green and citrusy, sharp and acidic. As it settles, I only notice lavender and amber. It’s unisex, perhaps leaning more towards the feminine side. It’s not a typical celebrity fragrance, more suited to an adult audience. I’ve read it could be niche, something a bit removed from reality. Mysteriously, it reminded me of Britney Spears’ Fantasy Circus; they don’t share notes, but both have that synthetic touch.
I picked it up for €10 for 100ml at Primor, thinking that if I didn’t like it for myself, I could always gift it. Well, I love it, although it’s very feminine and not really for me. I was surprised by the quality, the price, and that it’s a unique scent, nothing like that typical celebrity sweetness. On my skin, it doesn’t smell of chocolate, but rather floral and herbal, with a sweet and creamy touch, like condensed milk or dulce de leche, but without being cloying. Very delicious; on a woman’s skin, it would be a hit. Longevity is 10. I give it a 9.
I had to delete my previous review because now, after a few days, I like it and I don’t notice the synthetic or glue-like scent so much. This happens with other perfumes too: at first they say nothing, but after using them for a few days, your opinion changes. It’s not my favourite, but the bottle is gorgeous and decorative (though I usually don’t let myself be captivated by packaging). Good perfume, good bottle, and a pretty box for €9.99. VERY GOOD!
I’m still trying to fall in love with this fragrance I bought blind after reading so many positive reviews. The opening smells excessively chemical, almost like strong glue, just as others say. Sometimes I barely notice the chocolate, though as it dries, a hint of lemon and a warm note emerge, without the chocolate dominating. Perhaps it’s just my skin that doesn’t get along with it, but I want to; I hope wearing it creates affection.
I’m still trying to win over this fragrance I bought blindly based on reviews. The opening smells too chemical, almost like glue, and I barely detect any chocolate. As it dries, I sense a hint of lemon and a warm note, but nothing more. Perhaps my pH is complicated and we just don’t get along, but I really want to. I hope friction breeds affection.
I heard they had it at Primor (Spain) for €10 for 100ml, but I arrived too late and missed it. When they restocked it at the same price, I took it and it was wonderful. It smells peculiar and unique, and at €10 it is a bargain. The opening is talc-lavender with citrus, enough to knock you out. Sweet but delicate, balanced with a subtle bitterness. Some do not detect the chocolate while others do; I am one of the latter. The floral-talc-green aspect stands out alongside the sweet-bitter, with a base of white woods and a milky aftertaste. The longevity is incredible; it lasted 10 hours on me with four sprays and correct sillage. It is versatile for any season, avoiding extreme heat, better for day than night. Unisex? Absolutely. It is green with lavender and lemon and a controlled sweetness, if that is feminine 🤷🏽♂️. Try it and judge for yourselves. If you wish to see more, visit my YouTube channel: Perfúmate Con JL.
I heard it was selling very cheap at Primor (Spain), exactly €10 for 100ml, but I arrived late and forgot. A while ago they restocked it at the same price and they sent it to me. What a wonder, I thought the moment I smelled it. It’s a perfume with a peculiar scent, it doesn’t remind me of any other and for €10 that’s saying a lot. The opening is dominated by a talc-like lavender with citrus sparkles that is dizzying. Sweet, but delicate, without falling into excess. The sweetness is balanced with a subtle bitterness that makes it a delight. Some don’t feel the chocolate, others do… I am one of those who feel it a lot. What I would highlight most is a floral-talc and green part alongside a sweet and bitter part almost equally. Also a base of white woods with a milky aftertaste. Longevity is another marvel; I expected little and it lasted 10 hours with about 4 hours of projection and moderate sillage. It’s very versatile, for any season avoiding extreme heat. I don’t think it’s for night, it looks better during the day. Unisex? Totally. It’s green with lavender and lemon, with a very controlled sweetness, if that’s feminine 🤷🏽♂️. Anyway, try it and judge. Like most, I bought it because I read it was unique for the price, and yes, it is, but I don’t like it. I’ll use it, but not to repeat. I find it heavy. I smell a very spiced and cloying lavender, when I like fresh ones, and it must be the chocolate that gives it that eternal longevity. The price-to-longevity ratio is amazing, but better to smell it before buying.
Another one to the pile of people who bought this cologne blind, hahaha… I thought that for €10 and with so many good comments it would be a hit, perhaps they’ve reformulated Covet or on my skin it’s the most boring thing that exists. Right after applying it, it doesn’t smell like anything specific, it comes out as fresh herbal with lots of power and after 10 minutes it only smells of lavender. No dark chocolate, no geranium leaves, no lily of the valley, no jasmine, no magnolia… none of the declared notes, just a rich lavender scent close to the skin. As for sillage, I won’t even talk about it because it doesn’t have any. Another €10 thrown in the trash, it doesn’t smell bad but looking at the price it’s incredibly expensive. That said, the cap is super original and the bottle as a whole is a gem. BEWARE OF NOTINO REVIEWS!!! DON’T TRUST THEM!! I’ve tried to post negative reviews or those with few stars and they delete them to sell more; these are sincere opinions and what happens to me can happen to others.
You do not need to read all the reviews to see there is much disagreement about Covet. In my case, I fully agree: it is one of the best low-cost perfumes I have ever tried. I have a complicated sense of smell, and it is one of the few EDPs that lasts like a Duracell bunny on my skin, besides carrying my fragrance to the heavens. That duo of lavender and black dessert chocolate (I imagine it wrapped in Siena-coloured paper with spoon drawings) does not promise much at first, yet makes it tremendously aromatic. Geranium also helps, giving a very pleasant spicy touch, finished with discreet woods and musk. I agree with the previous review that the floral middle notes are not prominent; lavender and chocolate dominate, but for me, it is not a problem: I am obsessed with the herbaceous and dark tone they add, which, in my perception, reminds me incredibly of the late Verte by Puig. My appreciation may be biased by nostalgia, but even if I had never known Verte, I would still appreciate it, as my sense of smell adores anything smelling of lawn, shrub, moss, or forest… I perceive it as very green. If Covet were a woman, she would be a crazy, fun, bohemian friend, with pashminas and patchwork bags… eccentric but warm, understanding, and kind. It is not for everyone, but I think those who appreciate unconventional aromas could give it a chance, especially at the ridiculous price it has. At least a few months ago at Primor it was €9.95. They have not brought it back and I do not want to think about it disappearing from the market. In online stores, it is found in fewer places now, just like Covet Pure Bloom, and I will grab mine before it disappears off the map.
Opinions on Covet are very divided, but in my case I take its side: it’s one of the best low-cost perfumes I’ve tried. I have complicated skin and it’s one of the few EDPs that lasts like a Duracell bunny, plus its fragrance takes me to the sky. That duo of lavender with post-dessert dark chocolate (I imagine it on a Siena-coloured paper with spoon drawings), which a priori promises nothing, makes it tremendously aromatic. Geranium also helps and gives it a pleasant spicy touch, finished with discreet woods and musk. I agree with the previous one that the floral notes stand out little, lavender and chocolate dominate, but for me it’s not an impediment; I’m crazy about the herbaceous and dark tone that reminds me incredibly of the late Verte by Puig. Perhaps my appreciation is biased by nostalgia, but even if I hadn’t known Verte, I would have continued to value it, as my nose adores what smells like grass, shrub, moss, forest… I perceive it as very green. If Covet were a woman, she would be a crazy friend, fun, bohemian, with pashminas and patchwork bags… eccentric but warm and kind. It’s not for everyone, but those who appreciate unconventional scents should try it, especially for the ridiculous price. It was €9.95 at Primor a few months ago and they haven’t brought it back. I can’t even think about it disappearing. In online stores there are fewer and fewer, just like with Covet Pure Bloom, so you have to grab it before it goes off the map.
The bottle is a hit: coquettish and attractive; and the price is very good. The fragrance isn’t my style. I won’t say it smells bad, in fact it doesn’t, just that it’s not for me. It’s amber with a soapy and creamy touch. I think it’s more appropriate for a mature woman and for times without heat. Its presence is noticeable and it lasts hours on skin, hair, or clothes. I wouldn’t wear it daily either; it’s too sumptuous for everyday life; I’d wear it for special occasions. I rate it as ‘indifferent to me’: I neither like it nor dislike it, simply it’s not for me.
I like it. It’s green and earthy (just as I imagine it, being a total newbie). I even thought it could be the definitive one I’ve been looking for for years since my beloved Duende and Sculpture were discontinued. But it’s not this one either. Another one that went to the swap.
Opinions on Covet are very divided, which is why I hesitated to buy it, but it exceeded my expectations. The packaging says it all: amber liquid, a cap that looks like a slice of cocoa, and a green earthy box with gold stripes. It’s a challenging and unconventional scent. It has amber lemon, prominent lavender, dark chocolate, and woods, although I don’t perceive the declared floral notes. I would summarise it as herbal and spiced chocolate. In my opinion, it doesn’t have much projection; it’s more of a scent to enjoy personally. PD: Don’t trust the opening scent, it’s very synthetic, but after a few seconds the magic appears: a very pleasant herbal chocolate.
I had it a couple of years ago and it was the best quality-to-price ratio I’ve ever had. It’s cheap (I bought it at Primor for €10) but it smells expensive; I’ve seen it on Notino for €22 and it’s worth it. The opening is unpleasant, smelling of strong synthetic lavender that knocks you down, but once it dries down it’s gorgeous, like a super elegant oil soap. It’s the best celebrity fragrance I’ve owned. It flattered everyone, even my mother, who is very picky. It smells like an elegant twenty-something with designer handbags and a strong personality: status but youthful. It’s herbal, I think it’s unisex, the bottle is a gem, and the longevity and sillage are great for the price. It’s interesting and doesn’t leave people indifferent. It works well for ages 20 to 50, ideal for interviews or business lunches, nothing for parties. I see it as perfect for spring and daytime. Edit: I’ve bought it again and I reaffirm my opinion; more perfumes at €100 would wish to have this quality. It’s a bottled jewel.
Covet is, without a doubt, the most creative celebrity perfume I know, with that artistic touch that goes straight to your soul, typical of niche fragrances. Imagine a lush pine forest. It starts with a fairly harsh and astringent green that might scare you, but it immediately calms down and that fougere side emerges with a shy yet resilient lavender. It isn’t intimidated by dark bitter chocolate nor by the lily of the valley, which for me is the star flower. Everything blends into something creamy, magnetic, and full of nuances, totally unisex, not sweet and rabidly unique. It’s so unusual but in a good way; Covet is that eccentric person who captivates you through their differences. It lasts about 8 hours, suits any informal occasion, and is a gem that breaks the sea of identical fragrances.
Just bought this and it caught me off guard: it’s incredibly wearable and not annoying at all. At the office, people even asked me the name of the baby perfume; I’m sure they’ve reformulated it as it no longer smells like that challenging fragrance everyone talks about, which is ideal because it’s relaxing and pleasant. It only lasts a couple of hours on my skin, but since I paid so little for the three bottles, I don’t mind reapplying constantly.
