Elizabeth and James is a fashion brand founded by the Olsen twins. Their vision blends Elizabeth’s sophistication with James’s laid-back, masculine tailoring. Although it is a celebrity brand, the fragrances function as designer scents, and some refer to them as niche due to the unfortunate association with the commercial circuit. Before discussing Nirvana White, I must clarify that it is not a tribute to the grunge band; rather, the name appeals to the spiritual harmony and absolute happiness of Buddhism/Hinduism. I was expecting little, fearing a lost fragrance from the aquatic fashion of the 90s with those greasy notes and pool chlorine scent that I utterly detest. Nirvana White seemed to fit a musky peony, but I was wrong. The opening peony is invigorating, with a slight alcoholic edge, before decaying into a fascinating musk where the flower vibrates, fluttering with enthusiasm, hinting at rose and a green touch. With difficulty, a woody sparkle emerges, which I believe is from muguet. The name does not seem appropriate to me; Nirvana White is not harmonious, it is chaotic and unrestrained, as the peony transmutes irregularly, touching neroli and brushing against gardenia. The intensity is low, but longevity is good in suitable circumstances. It is easy to appreciate but feels let down by the credibility of its founders rather than the quality itself. In conclusion, the products are scarce in Latin America, available on their website or at Sephora, which is extremely limited in South America.

I don’t understand much about the fashion market… I’m happy with jeans, a white shirt, a blazer, and my flats… but with fragrances, I’m all eye, ear, and nose. And the only thing I can say about this one is that it fascinated me. It’s floral, aromatic, musky, and harmonious; the truth is, it has me hooked. It’s long-lasting, has a trail that makes people turn around, but above all, I love that I wore it outdoors today and could smell it with the breeze coming and going. I must add that I went to a Carlos Santana event and my fragrance was noticeable over the tremendous smell of marijuana that someone was smoking somewhere somewhere hahaha. Recommended 100%.

I don’t know much about the fashion market… I am perfectly happy with jeans, a white shirt, a blazer, and my flats… but with fragrances, I am all eye, ear, and nose. And the only thing I can say about this one is that it fascinated me. It is floral, aromatic, musky, and harmonious; honestly, it has me hooked. It is long-lasting, has a trail that turns heads, but above all, I love that I wore it outdoors today and could smell the scent with the breeze coming and going. I must add that I went to a Carlos Santana event and my fragrance was noticeable over the overwhelming smell of marijuana that someone was smoking somewhere somewhere haha. Recommended 100%.

  • Finally, I managed to get this perfume with shipping to Mexico from the US. I had never tried it because it’s only sold in Sephora and not in my country. What caught my attention was that videos and reviews said many good things. Now that I’ve tried it, I say it’s very pleasant, totally harmless for daily use: you can bathe in it and not bother anyone. Ideal for those who can’t stand heavy, spicy, or overly sweet perfumes. It’s a super fresh and innocent floral, smelling like freshly cut flowers. It’s quite simple, with only three notes, but they are very well executed. It’s very good, I liked it and recommend it, although given the price I paid, I’m not sure if I’d buy it again. Nevertheless, I’m enjoying it quite a bit and if you can try it, I say give it a go.

It is pure white and clean. What a beautiful peony! Here, the peony with the valley lily becomes majestic; on my skin it is green, clean, and soapy. Three well-balanced notes make a lovely scent for dressing in white, feeling clean and neat. It doesn’t announce my presence but accompanies me subtly. I wear it in the morning, preferably in spring.
