16/3/20: Upon opening, it’s spicy (perhaps clove?), sweet and potent; noticeable at two metres with strong projection for 1h30. As it dries down, it calms, revealing the sweetness, resinous and amber notes, finishing with woods and that vanilla sweetness reminiscent of cinnamon. The Malbec DNA is there, but in flat seconds. As for the oud? It’s present, though not evident; one needs to give it more time. (17/4/20: I found that stealthy oud in the wings). Refined and exclusive aroma, with sweetness, woods and clove. It complements the freshness, suitable for both night and day, certainly distinguished.
16/3/20: starts spicy (clove?), sweet; the opening is powerful, noticeable at two metres, with strong projection for 1h30, then it settles and the sweet, resinous, amber notes emerge, finishing with woods and that vanilla sweetness that smells of cinnamon. The Malbec DNA is there but on a flat plane. And the oud? It’s there but not noticeable; you have to wear it more. (17/4/20: I found the secretive oud backstage). Refined and exclusive scent without doubt, with sweetness, woods and clove. Pairs well with fresh notes, suitable for day and night, and certainly distinctive.
Okay, this is a lovely creation from Brazilian perfumery trying to make its mark in the world. It’s an oriental style with a spicy finish, slightly intrusive and unbalanced. The proposal is bold and I give them credit for that, but it’s not worth the price (around 80 dollars). The presentation is pretty, that’s not up for debate. Performance and longevity are moderate to low. There are better Brazilian perfumery creations, such as the Essencial Oud by Natura, which is a fragrance beast, long-lasting and with more of an ‘Arab’ stereotype.
What a beautiful gamble from Brazilian perfumery to take on the world. It’s an oriental with a spicy opening, slightly intrusive and unbalanced. The concept is bold and deserves credit, but it’s not worth the price (around £65). The presentation is gorgeous, which is undeniable. Performance and longevity are moderate to low. There are better Brazilian creations, such as Natura’s Essencial Oud, which is a beast, long-lasting and with a more stereotypical ‘Arab’ vibe…
