Sophisticated, clean, and elegant, with a super exquisite floral note. I bought it blindly at an incredible price and it has become one of my favourites. On my skin, it smells like sweet, fresh freesia, a rose without any powdery nuance (and if there were, I would have liked it too), and freshly cut juicy pear. It lasts about five hours on a 34°C afternoon and I received plenty of compliments. It reminds me of a mature, refined version of my beloved Avon Luminata with the DNA of the Essencial line. I find it ideal for hot weather.

Hello! I dug this out of the back of my wardrobe and tried it on; I haven’t worn it in years and I didn’t remember the scent. Oh my goodness! It’s very similar to the classic Idole, my favourite from that line. The roses dominate about 90%. Ideally, it’s for a cool spring evening, quite a nightwear scent, but I’ll wear it by day because I love it, although it can be overwhelming in the heat. It’s elegant, very feminine, and could easily be my signature. You have to love the rose!

If there is one word to describe it, it’s Elegant. Violets, lily, something citrusy, yes, musk, and a touch of patchouli… all that cloud empowers the wearer’s stride. Very pleasant and feminine; I don’t find it sweet or cloying, just very floral and elegant. It lasts six hours on the skin with a moderate but noticeable trail. Beautiful!

Fresh, very much in the Idole style. Clean floral, rose, pear, and musk. It has great presence and leaves a nice trail. It’s one of my favourites. Very feminine.

I recently added it to my collection; it’s exquisite and super wearable, not heavy. I dare say it’s very similar to IDÔLE, just a touch more citrusy, and of course, the difference lies in the vanilla. It lasts over eight hours on my skin. For me, it’s for wearing all day in cool weather, from autumn to spring; on hot days perhaps at night, though it’s not oppressive. I loved this perfume, although I’m usually a sweet scent person, this one SURPRISED me.

It’s the most different one in the collection, the only one I know that doesn’t smell exotic, creamy, sweet, and elegant. Due to its citrus notes, anyone can wear it in any climate. Feminine, tender, and it suits you well. It could easily pass for a designer fragrance. Recommendation: if you like floral and sweet scents. The comments suggesting it’s old-fashioned or for older people seem to denote ignorance. I don’t find any similarity to past perfumes, nor do I believe that because one has reached a certain age they become old and can only smell old. I would consider it if it came from someone who found the secret to eternal youth. One day you will wake up and be old, dear, with a little luck…

Those who write ‘for ladies over 50’ are the ones who are actually better off and use fragrances of a twenty-year-old. Really, those making such comments are so out of touch. Being 50 doesn’t mean you’re going to die; you’re just starting to live, and the same applies to perfumes. I feel sorry for those who categorise everything by age. I’m 24 and I love this fragrance. My 44-year-old mother wears Escandal and Libre Intense, so fragrances and ages don’t match up these days. It’s sad to see ladies writing things like that.

I bought this blindly as it was on promotion alongside the Essencial Oud, and both were a great success! The Elixir is a clean woody floral aroma with a creamy and sweet touch. The patchouli and musk are noticeable throughout the duration. There is a typical wood or resin from natural perfumes that can be perceived. Overall, a fragrance with great longevity and trail. Clean but intense, with presence. Beware with the sprays. Recommended.

I love it! I can wear it all day; it’s not tiring. It has given me very good results on my skin. It’s not sweet, nor is it a fragrance to buy blindly. I think it fits the line of IDOLE, CLOE, and classic KAIAK, and I’d even risk saying classic J’ADOR (clarifying that this is how I perceive it with my nose, as every nose feels it differently). I feel it’s a perfume for being fresh and dressed up, for the office or going to work, as I don’t feel it’s for parties because it doesn’t last long on my skin and I find it super soft. Perhaps I wouldn’t buy it again because there is an enormous variety of day fragrances, and I’d try experimenting with others too.

Today I had the pleasure of wearing it in cold weather and was surprised once again by Natura’s creations. After reading previous reviews and the notes, I had an idea of its aroma, but… upon spraying it on clean skin today, its citrus opening and its clean, earthy dry-down delighted me. I know it doesn’t declare pink pepper as a note, but I sense that typical sting that persists in the evolution. I’m not a huge fan of pink pepper, but this fragrance makes you feel clean, authentic, and versatile. I see it for any occasion, and at least in winter and spring (in my country we’ve had almost two weeks of spring, but the weather still brings us winter hangovers) its performance is excellent. It was a blind buy but it’s totally worth it… Did they say it was like Idole? Mmmm… it’s far from being sweet and creamy; that subtle scent of roses steeped in citrus persists, with earthy airs.

Just picked this up and it smells divine – super fresh and relaxing, nothing heavy with a luxurious trail. It’s very similar to IDÔLE. I absolutely love Natura’s essences; although this one is different from their others, I have no regrets about the purchase 😍😍

I’ve used it several times and received many compliments, but it gives me a headache. I find it lovely but it causes me a whole new level of discomfort. I own many Natura perfumes as a consultant and have tried almost all of them, even the oud which doesn’t make me nauseous like this one. To be honest, I should have sold it – I had read it’s similar to IDÔLE… friend, if you’re looking for IDÔLE here, run (unless you like a sweeter, dustier IDÔLE). I’m giving it away for adoption; it deserves more love because it is a good perfume.

Clásica
Essential Elixir is elegant and feminine. In my case, the violet note dominates with its characteristic talc accord – that powder makeup scent – and the well-known minted patchouli from Verónica Kato; I would mostly categorise it as a sweet, powdery floral, the type of perfume where Kenzo Flower is the king. As for longevity and trail, both are moderate but perform well; the price and presentation are reasonable. Elixir is an ideal fragrance for semi-formal occasions, even for work, because it is sober yet perfect for a meeting with a good note; I consider it a good option for all year round, except in very hot weather. It’s a sober Essential and an excellent alternative within the catalogue perfumery. Who will like it: fans of powdery florals.

vivimo
I quite liked this fragrance; it’s a medium floral chypre. I sense it as a mix of several perfumes I know, with which it is compared: from IDÔLE I get the rose and a powdery or spicy part, but it’s not the same; it lacks more flowers and freshness. With EDEN and QUÍMICA de HUMOR, I feel they share a similar olfactory sensation – that powdery spiciness the three of them have – but in themselves they are nothing alike: EDEN is a green floral chypre, while QUÍMICA de HUMOR has pomegranate and is fruitier than this. Narciso isn’t similar; the only thing they coincide on is that both are chypres. And I understand the comparison with JIMMY CHOO, but I feel that one is fresher and spicier; this one is more versatile. I own both and I liked this more for its pear and bergamot opening, and it dries down with a slightly talcated finish, whereas the other is sweeter and more liqueur-like. I’m testing it in the middle of summer during the day and I like it; I think I would wear it at night in summer or on cloudy summer days because sometimes intense aromas make me feel sick in this time of year. But in autumn, I’ll wear it all day. AHH, and for me, what is it similar to? I sense it’s like an ESCADA ESPECIALLY ELIXIR – powdery roses with patchouli; that one has plum and this doesn’t, but I sense pear and citrus in the opening, rose in the heart, and a powdery musky dry-down with patchouli in both. Not identical, but if you like that one, you might like this.

I bought it yesterday and I don’t know if it’s the warm weather, but while it is pleasant, I find it too soft and it doesn’t last. Perhaps perfumes made in Argentina are more ‘watery’? What a pity. I expected more.

It just arrived and I must say I loved it; it’s a fine, elegant fragrance that smells spectacular with excellent longevity. 😍

Pre-2021 edition: A jewel from Natura. If you want an excellent dupe of Panthere, it surpasses it highly. Feminine, elegant and captivating.

magia olfativa
Another gem from Natura that isn’t even on their catalogue and is an olfactory must-have. That’s why I’m half a bottle down – I wear it for professional events but I’m not at them all the time. I previously owned La Panthere by Cartier but sold it once I discovered this elixir, which I liked much more; it’s more wearable and has more patchouli, which is my favourite note. More of this, please!

magia olfativa
Another jewel from Natura that I can’t find in their catalogue and which, for me, is an essential olfactory journey; that is why I still have plenty of perfume in the bottle as I like it for professional events and I’m not in them all the time. Once I had La Panthere by Cartier but ended up selling it after discovering this Elixir, which I liked even more; it’s more wearable and has more patchouli, which fascinates me and is the note that predominates for me. More of this please!

I’m still confused about this perfume; the reviews impress me, haha. I have hated it; I didn’t like it. It smells to me, I think, a lot of resin or perhaps the amber. The catalogue description confused me; it doesn’t smell like flowers at all… the sad thing is that the bottle has been full in my perfume box for a while and I don’t know what to do with it. I’ve shown it to other friends and they don’t like it either. Help, u.u

Panta
On my skin it feels fresh and elegant. The muguet and violet stand out. Highly recommended for those who enjoy floral perfumes. Excellent price-quality ratio. I like it very much. Longevity of about 6 hours and notable projection for the first 3 hours.
-
clau cheirosa
I was looking for something similar to Cartier’s Panthère but more affordable, and I found it. The opening is identical, then it becomes more herbal due to the patchouli, with wood and amber in the dry down. Top quality, ideal for evening wear; it doesn’t suit clean lines or morning/work use. I see it as unisex and there’s nothing to envy in an imported version.
-
GabbyChang
Not my favourite from the Essencial line by Natura, but I love it. It’s energetic and feminine. At first, I thought it was for an older person, but the opening leaves a warm trail of green nutty notes that I adored. I find it informal, perfect for casual outings or family gatherings; you can’t go wrong.

What a wonderful perfume from Natura, the best in the brand. It’s powerful, fresh, enveloping, filling you with vitality and empowerment. Yes, it’s that potent patchouli, balanced but present. They say it awakens sensitivity and makes you feel seductive; I say they’re right, you feel yourself vibrating with it. I bought it at Christmas, thinking it was only for winter, but I can’t stop using it; it suits any weather. My favourite elixir for its colour and scent.
-
Gildita
My favourite from the Essencial line. I like it because it lacks that violet note I don’t enjoy. I adore its patchouli and the oriental vibe.
-
chicatrendy
I bought it recently, as is usual with Natura: excellent quality and original scents. At first, it smells strong, then the intensity drops, making it ideal for cold climates; I find it too dense for heat. The intensity is moderate and the longevity good, around 5 to 7 hours depending on skin pH. On my skin, it smells floral, but it’s a floral/woody/spicy mix leaning towards oriental. It’s a complex scent, not a specific flower but a blend. I’d say it targets a young, mature woman, aged 25 and up; on my skin, it smells elegant, sober, and formal.
-
CarCar
Quick review to complete when I get home and can smell it properly. I’m surprised not to see resins in the listed notes because I can detect them: resins, flowers, and woods. I think the violets stand out more than the rose, sparkling violets that are barely powdery. The woody phase takes presence on me. It’s also an oriental. It’s very lovely; the entire Essencial line is more complex than prejudice admits for a catalogue brand; they aren’t repetitive or copies. The presentation places it in ‘evening’ or ‘party’ perfume (only available at Christmas and New Year), but it’s totally usable for daily wear. It is certainly dressed up, but in the office, meetings, or with friends, it can be worn without issues. It tends to associate with the person, though it doesn’t have much of a memory effect because neither the violets nor the exclusive Essencial are that popular. Does it resemble Petit Robe Noir or For Her? I don’t know… Perhaps it shares the air of Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse Chic.

Perfect elixir for mild or cold days, a rich blend of flowers, red fruits and patchouli with a formal touch. I hope Natura relaunches it and keeps it…

A perfume for every day; on my skin, it feels more woody than floral. It’s quite oriental.

Greetings colleagues and fragrance-loving friends: I have acquired this proposal called Essential Elixir by Natura. I must admit I did not want to buy anything from this brand as I am somewhat idiosyncratic and normally purchase fragrances from high-ranking houses or recognised designers. However I decided to buy my first Natura perfume the Essencial Elixir and frankly I must say it has been a delightful surprise. I can assure you it is a quality aroma with very good longevity elegant refined and formal. Brands like Carolina Herrera (Men Prive) or even Giorgio Armani (Acqua di Giò Profumo) would envy showing aromas with this class of quality. I never expected to receive what I did for the price paid. Very happy with this acquisition; I will continue testing proposals from this house although I know not all may be this good but this is a Must Have. By the way it gives a very slight air in the distance to Bentley Intense but they do not resemble each other; they go down parallel paths but are nothing alike. Greetings to the group.
I sold the Prive and kept this proposal. I have nothing more to say.
I can only add that it is the same identical to Azzaro Elixir. The other day I thought about buying it again until I received this and thought: why spend more for the same thing? Still I have mixed feelings as an admirer of these two extraordinary houses but what Natura achieves with Verónica Kato is sublime. I invite you to have the courage to buy Natura perfumes blindly.
It is (to say the least the best because I still need to smell many Natura fragrances) it is the best I have had from the brand so far. Its aroma is very exquisite but difficult to understand. The vanilla cognac and leather are pleasant to my taste although not everyone will like it. I would say it smells like a formal serious man of good taste very little youthful (16-40). I do not recommend buying it blindly; I have smelled a sample before purchasing. The price is excellent for what we receive. Description in three words: Formal Sweet Little youthful.
Any reviews of the 2021 version?
Albineitor: Apparently it is the same one relaunched in 2021 according to Natura Mexico: The scent does not change the olfactory path is the same. Enjoy the delicious elixir aroma with a new presentation. Name and content remain the same so you have the same experience but improved. What changes? A turn in the brand concept a more renewed and authentic image. They changed the packaging and are looking for real and authentic people as the face of the product. Therefore for those who already have it the change is not worth much except for the new bottles.
Essential Elixir Natura (2021). Greetings. I have the 2017 2018 2019 and this 2021 version. Two of them seem almost identical; only the new one is slightly deeper and denser 98 identical. This depth is noticeable in the olfactory sensation more intense as if it had greater retention. It is a fabulous sexy delicious fragrance; my favourite from Natura. Testing performance: this new version has lower performance than its predecessors. As the earlier ones are EDTs and this is an EDP the past ones project well for 2 hours and then drop whereas this 2021 projects for 1 hour and drops precipitously until it stays skin-close for 6 hours. If you are looking for something in the line of CH Men Prive Hugo Boss Absolute or Armaf Radical Brown it is one of the best in its class. Scent: 9.0. Projection: Low (1 hour well then fades). Longevity: 6 hours (skin-close). Recommended for the scent but the performance leaves much to be desired.
I see there aren’t many reviews here. Perhaps because it is seasonal I confused it with Essencial Exclusivo. They say this Elixir resembles CH’s Prive but I don’t find much resemblance. Perhaps it is the sensations because CH is more smoky dark and coquettish. However this Elixir is the opposite of CH. The opening is indeed smoky but without that rubbery burn with the eccentric sweetness of the Prive. As it evaporates Elixir reveals its citrus and pepper notes a masculine aroma that leaves no one indifferent. The heart is sweet not annoying just right. Very good. I would describe it as warm spicy and woody. The base is wood as in most Natura fragrances where they excel. Perhaps they could have accentuated the cognac or tobacco like their sister Intenso to round it off and make it more sober. But that is not their aim nor does it reach niche status and as it is it is very good. It goes perfectly for formal meetings dates to impress or Christmas parties. It is not annoying or overwhelming like the Prive; it is more charming and likable. I am impressed with the longevity on my skin. Projection: 6-7 hours with a decent trail. Excellent. Longevity: up to 10 hours without becoming intimate; fantastic for the price and scent. Afterwards I go to bed smelling like Natura. The only ones that gave me such results were some old Jo Malone scents. I used 4-6 sprays. Scent: perhaps synthetic but not like Zara; Natura’s quality is superior. It is not annoying and the notes are perceived as they should. It is definitely worth this EDP. Let’s hope they never reformulate it.
Some films lose quality in their second season and this perfume is no exception. I have the 2017 version; I still have a quarter of a bottle left and it smells better and lasts longer than this reissue. I don’t quite understand why: the previous one was an EDT and this is an EDP yet they seem inverted. In 2017 the leather sounded more natural and settled; here it smells like freshly flayed skin almost with a trace of blood (forgive the description) and the liquor note is barely noticeable whereas before it was more intense. I thought Natura might have left some barrels of essence gathering dust but no. It seems the 2021 version tried to be what it couldn’t be: an improvement on the 2017 and ended up as a mere perfume. I only recommend buying it if you don’t already own the 2017 because sometimes comparisons are cruel.
Good heavens! What a delightful surprise. This Natura Elixir smells better than Carolina Herrera’s CH Men Prive; it recalls the old version with the red bow tie rather than the current rubbish. Don’t be ridiculous! It beats CH Prive in quality longevity and projection. I’ve tried CH Prive several times and it never convinced me; its synthetic aura was similar to the 212 Vip bomb. Natura Elixir opens deliciously: energising with peppercorns sparking and fleeting semi-sweet citrus. From the second the resinous and vanilla base is noticeable. The party gains flavour: the notes unfold like in fine perfumes until a pleasant balance is reached. It’s a brilliant perfume for a boss for the one in charge. It is elegant modern with a dirty touch from leather soaked in balms and benzoin. This is where it resembles Bentley Intense: a liquor-based base slightly dirty leather and rough vanilla like smelling the pod with an earthy aftertaste. I liked it because it lasts 6 to 8 hours projects well for the first 4 (I use many sprays) and evolves beautifully. It has a romantic touch for a handsome man sexy with a nostalgia of violet flowers like fine lavender talc. I applaud perfumer Verónica Kato on her feet! What skill with a limited budget! That reveals that designer brands could offer more quality at a lower price. They can’t pull our legs those of us who know these well-crafted proposals for a third of the price of their amber drudges. Finally something many men care about: women love it; they even close their eyes when they smell it hee hee. Full marks in bulk. Take note gentlemen.
I hadn’t tried the previous version, so my review is for this new one. Starting with what many care about: Yes, it has an air of CH Men Privé, especially in the dry-down; they are on the same line, not 100% identical, but they resemble each other. Moving on to this Essencial Elixir by Natura, right away you feel designer-quality perfume (it lacks that catalogue vibe). On the opening, you feel pepper, cardamomo and something herbal. After an hour, it turns sweet (in development, without being cloying, it has the right amount of sweetness, and even to my taste, it falls just short). I perceive the cognac slightly, and the leather more so. It is a very masculine fragrance. It is not carefree or ‘playful’ like others; it gives off a vibe of knowing what you want, of character, and in the dry-down it becomes more seductive. That is why it suits those aged 28-30 and upwards. In terms of longevity, I tested it in the middle of summer, so it would be unfair to judge it, as it is a winter/autumn scent. In summer it lasted 5-6 hours (I will update in autumn/winter). Update: Colder days and rain have arrived, and its performance improves a bit (between 6-7 hours to a little more), which seems perfectly correct considering its price. Recommended, but not blindly!
Essencial Elixir Natura Batch 2021: Completely in agreement with Juantra01; those of us with previous versions can compare their performance; it is true that this new one falls short of what it was at the start, lamentable that an EDT (first version) has superior longevity to the EDP (current). It seems they are cutting costs on production, making something similar but not identical. If you don’t know Essencial Elixir, buy it; if you liked it and finished it, buy it again too, but don’t expect notable longevity like the first versions, as it simply doesn’t have it. As a scent: Very good. Longevity: Moderate (projects for almost 2 hours). Duration: 6 hours. Is it recommended?: Yes and No. Cheers, community.
I bought it a month ago, tried it, went on holiday, and tried it again: surprise, the blend settled and revealed it is truly complex. The top notes dominate with cardamomo, playing with the citrus (mandarin, grapefruit, lemon). After a few minutes, the aromatic notes emerge and last quite a while. What is really appreciable are the middle and base notes. For now, a slight leather with aromatics stands out; I perceive flowers but in the background. The base is dominated by vanilla, with something green (perhaps vetiver), plus cognac, patchouli and sandalwood. In terms of scent, it is quite persistent. I’m not sure how it compares to the previously reviewed batches. I could see they are produced in different countries, which can cause variations. Judging by this one, Essencial Oud, Homem Verum and Homem DOM (EDT and EDP) from this house win hands down in value for money. The truth is, a discovery I enjoy considerably.
Barely testing it, I noticed the new bottle version (with a rhombus-style relief). Smells very pleasant and warm; it opens with spices and cardamomo giving it a spicy kick; once it settles, it clings to the skin and feels like leather with citrus. Ideal for the office or casual outings. It doesn’t project much but has a seductive and captivating trail. Once settled, it resembles CH Privé, although that one barely lasts on me. Recommended if you can get it at a good price.
This opens with LEATHER, MUSK and LIQUEUR, with a touch of grapefruit that fades quickly… By the 6-hour mark, it settles into VANILLA and musk with a hint of leather… Incredible longevity: on my skin, even after a shower, I can still detect it after 12 hours… It is super persistent. Projection isn’t explosive (about 1.5 metres for the first hour, then soft but steady for several hours), yet it leaves a recognisable trail at 2 or 3 metres for around 3 hours. It is quite a niche fragrance, DEFINITELY for cold weather, winter or autumn, in the evening or on very specific occasions during the day if it’s chilly. If you don’t like leather, it’s not for you… As for value for money, I think it is spectacular!
Full leather, like a jacket. It reminds me of a decant of CH Men that I’ve kept since 2012. Simply delicious. You can feel the bite of the pepper on the opening, then it’s all leather and a hint of cognac. I should add that I have another bottle with a nicer design and a lid similar to the Yuqawa.
I bought it blind and I must confess I’m delighted with the scent and performance. For me, it’s better than Essencial Oud; it’s elegant and youthful. At first it didn’t convince me, but then I found my taste for it. It’s now in my top of the collection, without a doubt.
Excellent perfume, one of the best from Natura. Very similar to Giesso 01 (Argentina) and CH Privé, except the citrus opening is short-lived. Then comes that attractive scent of pepper, liquor and leather. It’s an affordable and high-quality option if you like CH Privé; if not, look for Giesso 01, which costs less and performs equally well.
I bought one from the 2022 batch in Argentina a week ago and got into a conflict with the notes declared by Natura. The Mexico catalogue from 2018 stated Top: Apple, Cassis, Grapefruit; Heart: Violet, Leather, Lavender; Base: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cedar, Musk. But the Argentina 2022 catalogue says Top: Juniper, Thyme, Cardamom; Heart: Violet, Geranium, Lavender; Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Moss. Olfactorily, I identify the note path of the Mexican version rather than those declared in Argentina. Nevertheless, it’s a very good perfume and I receive very good compliments. It’s exclusive for cold or mild weather as it’s sweet; it’s not animalic at all compared to the Essentiel Oud-Vainilla. And yes, for me, it’s much better than CH Privé… or not as citrusy as the Hypnôse Homme by Lancôme.
Great price-to-quality ratio. It’s a warm, spiced leather with a touch of vanilla bourbon.
Batch 2022: Absolute beast. Smells like goat. It opens with an alcoholic and citrusy note with cardamom that evaporates in seconds, leaving pure musk and freshly tanned sheepskin. After 30-40 minutes, flowers, woods and vanilla emerge to soften the mix, though the leather and musk remain dominant. The first hour is a difficult scent; the musk is potent and smells like a sheep pen. I don’t see what it’s for.
Excellent perfume; one could say it’s a dupe of CH Privé, but no, it has its own path. On my skin, the mandarin stands out along with the leather and cognac, a combination that makes me think it could work very well on summer nights. For what it’s worth, it’s an excellent purchase compared to CH Privé.
The resemblance to CH Privé is true, but they differ. Despite having a certain alcoholic note, it’s not like whisky as CH is, and personally, I feel it’s more spiced, with a particularly sharp note in the opening. I didn’t like it. 5/10.
I didn’t have any perfumes with a leather note in my discreet collection until this Elixir, nor did I know the CH Man Privé. I picked it up at a super offer and almost regretted it, because after the brief citrus opening of cardamom, something emerged that made me understand what they call ‘animalic’. For me, it was like sweat or damp clothes, which I didn’t like at all. I insisted for a few days and it became a acquired taste; that animalic note was the leather, and I no longer dislike it, quite the opposite. I think that’s what predominates in the life of a perfume; perhaps the soft notes of violet and lavender, I don’t perceive the alcohol, just very light woods. Very rich; I don’t think it’s meant to please the masses, its performance is discreet, about 6 hours but finally close to the skin. It’s very good.
What a beauty; it was love at first sniff. A super delicious, slightly alcoholic leather; a fragrance to ignite masculinity without being animalic or exotic. Compliments without any problem. Good duration, though not excellent; I love it; it’s entered my top 3. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 7.5/10, Projection: 7/10, Compliments: 8.6/10, Presentation: 7/10 [RECOMMENDED]. I found it for $20 because it was discontinued and they wanted to get rid of it; what luck!
It’s a spectacular woody fragrance. Moderate trail but with good longevity, lasting up to 8 hours. It feels like a balanced blend where pepper and cardamom stand out in a slightly citrus matrix, with violet and leather in a woody base. Recommended; it’s one of my favourites.
I bought it blind for a good price and positive reviews. Upon trying it, I thought it was very masculine, almost animalic due to the leather and cognac; I’d never tried anything like this and at first, it seemed heavy and difficult to wear. I gave it several chances and grew to like and love it. I’d use it in cold weather and at night in social settings; given its strength and scent, I don’t see it serving other purposes. The performance is excellent in longevity, projection, and trail, and for the accessible price, it’s a real gem.
A good fragrance, subtle and rich. It’s for close encounters because it doesn’t project much and the trail is short, but it’s very pleasant. It leaves no liquor notes and is slightly sweet.
I picked this up on offer. At first, I didn’t like it because I wasn’t used to this style, but with time, I came to love it. It’s for men, not for children. Ideal for cold nights, matching the outfit it calls for (boots, leather jacket, jumper, shirt, and tie). I now use it for studying and teaching. On the skin, it lasts about 6 or 7 hours; it doesn’t project much, which limits the compliments, but when girls are right up close, it earns plenty of praise.
Confirming it: yes, it smells like CH Men Privé. Top quality for the price; that sweet, powdery leather is a luxury. It doesn’t last as long, but it makes up for it. In cold weather, it’s less noticeable; I imagine it’s made for heat where the molecules really open up. But as soon as you warm up, it gains body and smells like expensive whisky or cognac. I’ll repeat the cliché: drunk and sexy.
A flanker of CH Privé, but not the same. In my case, I loved it, very masculine, mature, and spirited. It has many similarities with CH Privé but isn’t the same. I like it a lot. As with the whole Essencial line, I recommend not buying blindly. Here in Argentina, there’s the Giesso 01 which is very similar to CH Privé; I admit that this version is richer for me. Acceptable performance, not a beast, but it doesn’t leave you halfway through. Unfortunately, in Argentina it’s a mid-range fragrance leaning towards designer prices. 7 out of 10 points.
Rich fragrance, poor performance.
Rich, warm, enveloping, slightly sweet, ambered, and very seductive. It never fails when choosing something quickly: leather, cognac, sandalwood, and benzoin give it an interesting, rounded, and embracing body. It’s not a beast in projection, so it doesn’t bother, nor is it hyper-dense or unpleasant. If you like warm, semi-sweet perfumes, it’s an excellent option. It follows the line of CH Man Privé and Giesso 01 (liquorish and seductive). It usually earns compliments in intimate settings or close interactions, projecting a sensual, confident, and welcoming image.
I gave it a whole year to see if it aged well, but it didn’t. I applied it 12 months ago, used it for a month, then used it again after another year. Longevity 6 hours on skin, up to 12 on clothes. Projection 30 minutes. Sillage 1 hour. Scent 8/10, smells good. If you’re going to an open area, apply 20 sprays on clothes and skin; otherwise, it won’t disappear quickly. In an enclosed space, about 10 sprays on clothes and 2 on the neck. With lots of air, it fades. Apply under clothes. Seasons: spring nights, autumn and winter days and nights. Super cheap price, 28 dollars in Peru, sometimes as low as 25. If several of Natura’s fragrances had better projection and longevity, ugh, I’d only buy Natura.
Is it discontinued?
Rich fragrance, but it doesn’t last long…
I like to see Natura and its discontinued clones as a rock band: Natura gained fame with covers of CH Men and CH Men Privé (this Essencial Elixir being one). Over time and with its own successes, Natura moved on from part of its repertoire, taking those reverts with it. The Elixir, discontinued for years, had a brief relaunch in 2021 that seemed like a limited edition to clear stock; the bottle I have is from that era and has acceptable performance (moderate projection and 7-hour longevity). The scent has three accords: cardamom-lavender, leather-liquor, and musk-patchouli, with the latter setting it apart from CH Men Privé and bringing it closer to the now-extinct Hypnôse by Lancôme. That 2021 reappearance was well-received but poorly exploited: Natura made a reformulated reissue that wasn’t so fortunate, lacking the magic of before, which explains recent complaints about its performance.
A mature, formal-cut men’s fragrance, ideal for winter and evening. Scent rating 8.3/10: leather, cognac, and vanilla take the lead. The opening reveals mandarin, very masculine, perfect for a leather jacket or black attire. In the dry down, it becomes more palatable for everyone, with more vanilla and a honeyed sensation, perhaps due to the sweetness of the cognac. Quality rating 8.3/10: being from the catalogue, it has excellent aroma and an evolution worthy of expensive perfumes, not smelling of alcohol. Good bottle and decent atomiser. Longevity rating 7.6/10: as an EDP, it’s as expected, not sublime but not disappointing, around 6 hours. Projection rating 7.5/10: noticeable for the first two hours, not a bomb but gives presence and a decent trail. Versatility rating 6.6/10: not versatile; due to the notes, it’s for winter/autumn, better for night than day. Can be a signature for informal moments but shines in formal occasions. Age 30+ due to seriousness and maturity. Price rating 7.3/10: previously discontinued in Argentina with ridiculous prices, but stock returned at a fair price, around 56k pesos or 43 dollars. Final score 7.6/10: a quality fragrance at a good price, decent performance, elegant, masculine, woody, with leather and liquor. Natura once again demonstrates it makes great perfumes.
The Natura Essencial Elixir relies heavily on the nose that smells it. It smells of sweet leather, yet quite animalistic. The opening features violets, but soon that animal, sweet, and spiced leather takes over. It resembles CH Men Privé in the opening, but this leather becomes more animal-like than Carolina Herrera’s. If you don’t like that animal leather, go for CH Men Privé if you can find a good price. Otherwise, this Natura offers a good olfactory experience reminiscent of Herrera. Longevity is average, around 5 hours. Projection is moderate, neither very strong nor weak. It smells better in the air than up close. It’s not the best in performance. If you’re seeking longevity and projection, try other fragrances from the Essencial or Homem de Natura lines. If you want leather with better performance and a richer scent, try the Natura Homem Tato. In summary, if you’re looking for quality and aroma, go for CH Men Privé, although its price is higher. Final note: 8/10.
Living in Argentina, if you’re hunting for an alternative to the discontinued CH Men Privé, Giesso 01 is my top recommendation. It feels much closer to the original CH Men Privé, which never boasted beastly longevity. Here, you can truly detect the Natura DNA, so I blindly recommend this fragrance as your go-to option.
