Well, I liked it. Certainly, it’s nothing new or unique, but I found it to be a very pleasant youthful fragrance with that tangerine refreshed by mint. It would easily fit the definition of a ‘cologne’ and has a very fair price. It’s easy to wear and one of those aromas that brighten your day. The truth is, I find it hard to imagine most people wouldn’t like it.
Beautiful, long-lasting, and fresh, vastly underrated in my opinion. It has everything you’re looking for, plus it’s incredibly cheap. The scent draws compliments, and people approach to ask what you’re wearing; I didn’t expect much for the price, bought it based on this page’s review, and was surprised. It starts super fresh with mint and tangerine, drying down to feel totally natural without those jarring scent shifts found in other fragrances. Afterwards, the sage and lavender emit a lovely aroma, and the woody dry-down is a feast. I haven’t even used half a bottle of this first one and have already ordered the next; I think it will become my signature. Give it a chance; it’s quality, longevity, and scent. Fantastic. A win-win.
The Hamburg fragrance is a tribute to Karl’s hometown, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Germany. Without getting into arguments, I believe one must be careful with hyping certain scents, as someone might buy blindly and end up with something synthetic, featuring a fresh woody touch of moss and musk, preceded by citrus and green notes of tangerine and mint. It’s medium-to-low quality, lasting 3 to 4 hours if you’re generous. There are much better scents from KL; this is a product leaning towards current mediocrity, superficial and soulless.
A fragrance for everyday wear, it smells fresh and clean on the skin, lasting 4 to 5 hours with a projection of almost 2. On clothes, it lasts a bit longer. It’s rich and clean; I received compliments as soon as I arrived at work. Longevity doesn’t depend solely on ingredient quality, but also on skin type and how well it’s cared for.
The scent is one of those made to please everyone. As others have noted, it’s a fragrance designed to feel fresh and clean. Regarding similarities, it certainly comes close to Y by YSL; I’d give it an 8.5 out of 10.
It’s the second in the Cities collection, the one that changed perfumers and the one that sticks with me the least. I’m still searching for that tangerine and mint, but the moss isn’t there; they say it’s similar to Y, maybe a little, but it lacks that unbearable sticky note that reminds me of Invictus (which I hate). Like its sisters, it performs well on skin and clothes, but the quality feels inferior. Should I recommend it? It depends… if you like Y or Invictus and catch it at a good price (no more than $25 for 100ml), it’s worth it; otherwise, forget it, as there are pharmacy knock-offs that smell just as good. I bought it just to complete the collection and will use it on those rare summer days when I feel like something sporty and sweet.
