Part of Karl Lagerfeld’s Cities collection, the first of three, the easiest to find and in my opinion the best. The profile is simple, consisting of inspirations, and in the case of New York Mercer Street, I believe it has a good DNA with similarities to Aqua di Gio, plus some spicy and cottony nuances that give it its touch. The whole collection performs well; I’m surprised it lasts more than five hours on my skin with my complicated pH, and on clothes it lasts the whole working day, albeit with little projection. The only drawback is that its DNA is currently used by many women here, to the point that in a café the girl who served me took a deep breath and said ‘mmm, smells like a woman’, although fragrances are not to blame for trends. The next day I went back to wearing Jaguar for men.
On my skin, it lasts no more than two hours. Pleasant aroma, just like straight out of the shower. I wouldn’t buy it again.
Fresh, citrus, green, with an aromatic spicy note. Reminds me of Montblanc Starwalker and Armani’s ADG, especially the former. I tested them at the same time, one on each arm, and they are very similar, though Starwalker leans more towards bamboo. The Montblanc lasted longer, so I would recommend that. In any case, this NY Mercer Street is a bargain for the price, although its longevity is a bit short. Ideal for everyday wear. You smell good without drawing attention, nothing off-putting. Not for parties, but a formal and reliable fragrance. If you already have one like this, it adds nothing new, but if not, it’s a good option.
Not much to say; it’s the kind of perfume you put on without giving it a second thought. Citrus, green, with a spicy touch that gives it a very commercial feel. You won’t stand out by smelling unique, but you smell good, and sometimes that’s all that’s sought after.
