  1. On the Chatoyant website, it’s presented as a chypre inspired by Marrakech, but upon trying it, I found something different. The opening is very fruity, with a lovely bergamot, followed by the floral notes dominated by jasmine, without losing that sweetness. In the dry-down, I don’t detect any chypre accord at all; instead, I notice a lot of musk and woods, especially cedar. The spicy touch they mention isn’t perceptible to me—it might fade quickly, but in my uses, I’ve never smelled it, and there are no notes suggesting it. It smells fantastic, has great presence, is sweet, unisex but with more feminine and seductive character. The trail is notable for the first two hours before settling into a more moderate projection. The longevity exceeds 12 hours (on skin) and fixes very well on clothes. From the start, it reminds me of Erba Pura by Xerjoff. Although they aren’t identical, they follow the same aromatic and pricing line (the Iruela version is slightly cheaper, with somewhat lesser but still excellent longevity and projection). Personally, I’d stick with the Xerjoff, but if Erba Pura overwhelms you and you’re looking for something along its lines but kinder, without forgetting that it remains intense, Chatoyant is a good alternative. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8.5/10, Value for money 8/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy it again? I haven’t purchased it yet.
