Rather than feeling flat, the perfume dwells on the many faces of that one material — wood, soil, soft spice and balm — held in a calm, unbroken line.
The opening is forthright and earthy, recalling crushed foliage and dark timber. There is no bright prelude to soften it; the ingredient arrives whole, dry and richly textured.
Through the middle, the tone mellows. A balmy roundness comes forward, the faintly spiced warmth sitting close to the skin and lending depth without diverting the course. It remains the same note, simply viewed at fuller volume.
