Elemi resin, bergamot and black pepper lend a crisp, citrus-lit opening, leading to a pared-back heart of cedars and a deep base of frankincense, myrrh, leather and musk.
The structure is easy to follow: a fresh-spiced, citrus-bright lift of elemi, bergamot and pepper, given lift by the balsamic greenness of the resin.
The middle narrows to wood. Atlas cedar and Virginia cedar are framed by Haitian vetiver and patchouli, creating an aromatic, conifer-like dryness with an earthy, well-planed quality.
Beneath lies the sacred accord of olibanum frankincense and myrrh, softened by musk and edged with leather. Smoke stays pale rather than dense, myrrh supplies balsamic cohesion, leather a muted animalic warmth.
The overall impression is warm-spicy, balsamic and lightly smoked, with an amber-leaning foundation. A measured progression from brightness to dry timber to enveloping resins.
