Sentire’s Gilded Labdanum, introduced in 2025, is a woody oriental for women and men by perfumer Nata Dyshliuk.
It places labdanum at its centre, brightened with honey, beeswax, resins and soft, creamy woods.
It opens with cumin, immortelle and honey. The cumin lends a savoury-spiced accent, while the dry immortelle frames the honey with a slightly bitter, herbal touch.
The heart follows with ylang-ylang, beeswax, May rose and incense. The blossoms turn waxy and plush, gently veiled by a wisp of incense smoke.
The drydown rests upon benzoin, Tolu balsam, cedar, Mysore sandalwood, vanilla and labdanum. Here the amber, balsamic sweetness comes to the fore, cushioned by mellow woods.
The overall impression is ambery, warmly spiced, sweet, balsamic, smoky, honeyed and faintly powdery, softening gracefully as it settles.
It will suit devotees of deep, resinous woody orientals with honey and incense, looking for a cosy, enveloping scent for quiet evenings.
