Boss Spirit is the spirit behind the nineties launches from the most famous German fashion house. Compared to the robustness of Jet Bomber, Spirit is like a lighter, more versatile and swift jet dedicated to aerial supremacy. This perfume tortured me with its sense of possession, reminding me of the words of Buddha about desire as the source of suffering, so after years of searching for a cat’s tail in the barn, I abandoned the idea. Defeated by time that forgives nothing and takes away loved ones and ways to express beauty to make way for the ‘new’, that more ozonic and bright leather was discarded for a future ‘better’ that I cannot discern as convenient, as nothing surpassed the bearing, style and depth of Spirit. Not to a degree that justifies the loss of this boreal leather where a timid minted fern appears, with the classic lavender-geranium relationship reaching unprecedented heights; the ensemble is herbal but supported by a fine and young leather. It is elegant, intense, pulsating, the most synthetic adjective to define it. It fits the nineties approach, joining forces with Aramis, Escada, Jean Patou, Gucci Nobile, Loewe and a long list; its identity is undeniably masculine, bold and of excelsa elegance. Its longevity is excellent, over 10 hours, with an intense and vibrant projection for the first three hours, leaving then a long herbal, bright, oriental and ozonic trail. Boss Spirit is a wandering spirit in the minds of those who hallucinate about having it, of the need to place it on the altar reserved for a fragrance of such beauty, a spirit that became perfume to offer its best and give life to subsequent creations, to disappear as illuminated beings absorbed by light and abandon the earthly world, for in its name lay its sentence. I hope one day light returns it so many can experience what a round and perfectly assembled scent can do for the good of those who seek the middle point of yin yang, just as Boss Spirit did. 10/10
My search for fragrances remains an endless journey. Boss Spirit has a medium longevity and, in my case, excellent projection. It is a classic scent from the late eighties, an unbeatable era for fashion, music, and perfumes. To experience it was a privilege. It smells dry, linear, slightly brittle, dark and masculine, yet with a perceptible sweet touch. The wood, lavender, and a host of green notes that bring it to life are very noticeable. I do not understand why such peculiar and different scents are discontinued. It is a high-quality creation by Hugo Boss.
Boss Spirit is the soul of the nineties launches from the most famous German house. If Number One was a heavy bomber, Spirit is a light, fast and versatile jet for aerial supremacy. Hugo Boss made me suffer with its sense of possession, reminding me that suffering is born of desire, so, to relieve it, I stopped searching for a cat’s tail in the barn after years of trying. Time forgives nothing and takes away loved ones and ways to express beauty, giving way to the ‘new’. Thus, that more ozonic and bright leather was sacrificed for a future ‘better’, something I did not see as convenient, as nothing surpassed the bearing, style and depth of Spirit. To this day I can’t believe they’ve discontinued this fragrance and this enormous piece of perfume… IT’S INCONCEIVABLE! Unique aroma, and so far I haven’t found anything that comes close… what a shame they cut something so EXCELLENT… Marcus, your comment reflects exactly what I feel about this UNREPEATABLE perfume…
Old-fashioned perfumes are on another level; this one, in particular, is superior in every way. I still keep a little bit left because I know it’s impossible to find again.
Hugo Boss. So far from Spirit and yet so close to those ridiculous flaneurs of ‘The Scent’.
This was my signature in the nineties; it has a brutal presence and a unique stamp that I don’t understand why they discontinued. I have the privilege of having picked up a couple of 100ml bottles on eBay years ago and keep them like gold. Does anyone know if there’s anything similar? To this day, after so much time, I haven’t seen it again and I don’t want to run out of my special stash…
It was my perfume in the nineties, it has a brutal presence and its own seal, I do not understand why they stopped manufacturing it. I have the luxury of having picked up a couple of 100 ml bottles on eBay years ago and I keep them like gold. Does anyone know anything about a similar scent? I have been years without finding it and I do not want to finish my special reserve.
