Bruno Banani was born in Chemnitz, Germany, in 1993 as an underwear company founded by Wolfgang Jassner. The brand became known for its campaigns and for communication based on humour. Its entry into perfumery was developed through licences and Coty currently manages this activity.
The fragrance line is aimed at men and women and has been expanded with new editions and body care products. Bruno Banani Man and Bruno Banani Woman were the most recognisable initial references. The subsequent offer includes Loyal Man, Magnetic Woman and other lines, and Coty has held the licence for more than twenty years.
