I bought this blind with my heart in my hand because there were no comments, but wow, it caught me by surprise. It smells like the DNA of Les Sables Roses by LV: it’s not a copy, but they share that essence of rose, oud, amber, and spices. I’m going to try it more to update this. It’s a rose perfume with a touch of oud that smells of supreme quality; it could be niche, for me it’s a yes. A hidden gem.

A Reason to Love is the classic rose and oud combo you’ve seen in many fragrances. The opening is strident, but it dries down very well, with good quality and projection. The dry-down recalls Dior’s Oud Ispahan, but without that raspy or ‘dirty’ sensation. It’s woody and very floral, 100% unisex. It’s not for those who hate the smell of dry or dusty roses from ‘old ladies’; this requires a taste for deep, fleshy, intoxicating roses. It doesn’t smell animalic or dirty; it’s dry and clean, elegant and velvety. Recommended to test on skin because it’s expensive.
