Invictus Platinum, are you in a different presentation? I’m having the same experience as with that fragrance. I like the opening, but the dry down is where the problem lies: that metallic anise scent that makes me feel nauseous. Although it’s worse in the Platinum. The opening reminded me of YSL Y EDP. I’m not sure if it’s the effect of being a ‘blue fragrance’. To distinguish them better, I tested it alongside its original version, the EDP, and it was much weaker and duller. However, I sensed a strange aroma that I hadn’t noticed in that EDP before. It’s as if they reformulated it to make it look worse against this new launch, the Parfum. Fortunately, I didn’t have much hype for this. It doesn’t disgust me, but it does feel generic and redundant. Nothing surprising.
Just tried it in the store today, right when I put on my Dylan Blue for the office. They smell identical.
I would prefer the original Profumo a thousand times over; this one is cloying and very reminiscent of Dylan Blue… luckily I managed to get free samples before buying it blind, so I was saved. A flanker destined to fade into obscurity without making much of an impression.
An inoffensive, summery fragrance with modest pretensions. I tried it today and found it to be somewhere between marine and green, pleasant, with a soft resinous dry down and a hint of patchouli. It lasts about three hours. It faintly reminds me of Bvlgari’s Aqua Amara with a touch of tangerine. I almost bought it blind because of the beautiful bottle.
I tried it a few hours ago at the shopping centre. On dry down, it smells very similar to Dylan Blue.
Intense aroma, more nocturnal and less versatile. I’ve even worn it in freezing weather, and it’s a remarkable fragrance.
Another pointless ‘copy and paste’ when the EDT version already exists. Are they tired of releasing redundant and mediocre products?
Superb fragrance, very marine and suitable for formal summer moments with great performance. It’s my favourite scent.
Top fragrance for formal events in autumn and winter. The development is sweet and woody, with that deep, exquisite touch that makes it unique.
A fresh, elegant, and delicious woody scent. It carries the DNA of Acqua di Gio but softened, perfect for cold weather and the autumn season.
Acqua di Gio Profondo Parfum is a marine, aromatic, and salty fragrance. Its opening is marine with citrus, but above all it is salty and mineral. As minutes pass, the salty and marine chords increase, bringing its style closer to Light Blue Intense but with the Acqua di Gio DNA. I didn’t perceive many changes in its development; it smells almost the same from start to finish, except after a few hours when the salty tone drops and something herbal rises. It resembles the Profondo EDP, but this is saltier, whereas the EDP is a bit more citrusy. Ideal for taking to the beach or using in spring and summer for casual outings or outdoors. Its longevity is good, lasting over nine hours; the first two are noticeable without leaning in, then it drops until it’s skin-level. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I think I liked the EDP version a bit more, but try it yourselves to form your own opinion.
I’ve never owned an ADG version before; I really craved that notable aquatic scent. After researching, I decided on the Acqua di Gio Profondo. I tested both the EDP and the Parfum in-store, and both seemed spectacular, but I chose the Parfum. I must say I’m deeply disappointed with the longevity: does a Parfum dare to last two hours? And by four hours it’s practically imperceptible on the skin? It doesn’t even last a full day on clothes. The scent is exquisite, but I have to press my nose against the skin to smell that delicious aroma. A letdown regarding the price, the name ‘Parfum’, and lasting worse than a cheap cologne.
Greetings. It’s the bluest ADG I’ve tried. Seeing as some say it resembles Dylan Blue, they’re right; the opening is fruitier than the EDP and yes, it smells like a blue fragrance, versatile and suitable for any occasion. Then comes a flood of marine aroma, powerful and intense. I don’t know what the trail is like, I’ve worn it for over five hours and now it’s in the salty, marine phase; I have to lean in to smell it. Nevertheless, I’m not regretting the purchase for now.
A new variant of the original perfume, powerful, very masculine, and certainly redundant with other aromas. Test before buying.
It’s not very different from the original ‘Profondo’, but it shouldn’t be as it is the Parfum version. Used to the dopamine we get every minute from influencer news, TikTokers, YouTubers, their posts, Netflix, and advertising, we desire to always be on the crest of the wave, trying new and surprising things. That’s why perhaps the ‘Parfum’ won’t be a desire object for many people, but it has everything a non-collector could want from such a product: excellent longevity, decent projection, and a scent worth it. A good option for someone who wants a Swiss Army knife without spending more. Elegant without losing versatility and seems good for both young people and something more mature (without falling into clichés). It’s pricey, but I insist, the performance matches the price (without falling into niche territory). It has convinced me, so I recommend at least trying it under proper conditions.
I prefer it to the Profondo EDP: it has more body, a fruity top note, and a resinous, sweet, marine base. A very good and versatile aroma, works both day and night (much better than the EDP). A pity the longevity is so low. I’ll decant it and won’t buy a full bottle.
I like it. I’m not sure how much it relates to the Profondo line as I don’t own the supposedly superior EDP, but this smells spiced and is quite nice.
I would definitely recommend it if you’re after something fresh, sophisticated, and long-lasting. It’s ideal for anyone wanting a versatile, elegant scent to wear all day. Although the price is high, the quality justifies it. If you prefer more complex or bold perfumes, this might not be your cup of tea, but if you’re after something fresh, clean, and high-end, it’s an excellent choice. Rating: 10/10 🌊🍊⛱️🌤️
A clean, high-quality marine fragrance, exactly what I was looking for. If you’re trying to turn heads by walking around, this isn’t for you.
Look, there’s a lot of hate, but the truth is it has nothing to do with that. This is the bluest and most versatile of the entire Acqua di Gio line. It’s not just the concentrated version of Profondo EDP; it’s more in tune with what modern perfumery demands. Some still prefer the 2020 Profondo EDP for being more citrusy and faithful to the classic ADG DNA, and that’s fine. But this new Profondo Parfum isn’t trying to please baby boomers, Gen X, or millennials who love vintage scents and complain because ADG doesn’t smell like it did in the 96-2000s. This flanker targets a younger audience seeking elegance, freshness, and versatility, because for many Gen Zers and older Alpha members, the citrus and floral notes of the original already sound dated. Yes, this smells denser, less citrusy, slightly darker, and much more balanced than the EDP. Don’t get me wrong, I love both, but if I have to choose, I’ll stick with the most versatile, modern, and elegant one: Profondo Parfum.
It’s a simpler fragrance than its original version, it takes away a bit of the marine to give way to the clean, it has the same performance as the original, it really doesn’t change much. Longevity: ≤5 hours (Normal-dry skin). Projection: Moderate/Soft 1 hour. Scent: 8/10 (because it only works in heat).
In 2020 I bought the first Profondo of 125ml and finished it by 2021; I bought another one again and it’s with batch 22U9007 that I’m making the comparison. On the opening I disagree with those who say the difference is imperceptible: that strong bitter citrus I perceived in the previous one disappeared in this new Profondo; in the new version marine notes are more predominant and softer, yet at the same time I feel them with cleaner vibes. Twenty to thirty minutes after spraying, while the whole line denotes masculinity, the absence of cypress and rosemary is indeed a letdown; for me in the 2020 version both notes achieved a more mature masculinity. From a personal perspective I don’t like the absence of mineral notes, they added depth and dimension. And to finish, in projection and longevity there is no comparison, presumably due to the absence of musk, regardless of whether it was animal, vegetable, or artificial: Profundo 2024 is indeed inferior in this last point. Recommendation: Try both.
An excellent fragrance, fresh but elegant; pity that on my skin it has scarce longevity (1-2 hours).
Alright, alright, a less aquatic perfume than its original EDP version, cleaner, which is NOT BAD, it’s what they did it for: to preserve its scent and characteristics and make it more ‘formal’, rich, good-smelling, it will please everyone who enjoys blue fragrances and more Acqua di Gio. I see it for daily use, work, informal family gatherings, and a chill out; you won’t stand out at night events or dates, IT’S NOT FOR THAT. For spring-summer it’s a hit, autumn could work starting out, I don’t see it for days below 12 degrees (nevertheless, I’ll try it to see how it goes…). What’s the downside? The same thing that happens with Ralph Lauren Deep Blue Parfum: THEY ARE NOT PARFUMS, FOR ME THEY ARE EDT INTENSES. A Parfum has much more oil than alcohol, and these two are more alcohol than anything else; in fact, when you apply it being a ‘Parfum’ you’ll ask yourself: Where is the oil? Where is the fixation thanks to the oil? Well, you won’t find that here in this delicious Acqua di Gio Profundo ‘Parfum’. It bothers me that designer brands use the word ‘Parfum’ without being so, IT’S A FRAUD and that should be penalised by consumer protection agencies in each country. But well, that’s another story. Do I recommend? YES, and ONLY IF you get a great deal like I did at an authorised retailer during a cyber week: for 200ml I paid $89 USD (almost 89,900 Chilean pesos). If you want a daily perfume you can reapply and it’s your perfume for going to work, university, or spring/summer outings to the mall, for a walk in the park, etc… I never recommend going to buy at full retail price, it’s not worth it as it’s an EDT INTENSE in my opinion. I’ll keep enjoying it until it runs out, it smells very nice and I’ll reapply as many times as needed. Should I buy a second bottle? It could be if I catch another very similar offer, but I’m not sure. Hope my review helps. Cheers.
I tested it on blotting paper and liked it quite a bit, among all the perfumes I tried. It’s in the aromatic line I like: fresh, slightly sweet, floral but clean and masculine. It’s well-rounded. I’m going to test it on skin; if I like it, it’s coming into my collection. I totally retract my previous comment: on skin it doesn’t feel marine and it smells very strangely…
Hello, my opinion. I think this is the first time I’ve written about a fragrance I don’t like. I don’t know if my bottle is just bad. The opening is terribly synthetic and the dry down, my goodness… I can’t stand it, it smells very bad… I won’t go into details, I don’t like being unpleasant… For me, it’s not… Try first, always. Cheers.
I’m curious why Mr Morillas didn’t sign off on this fragrance. You can get the 200mls at a good price in Mexico, which is a sign they aren’t selling as expected and are being moved ‘off the books’, not through official retailers. When a fragrance is a success, it’s hard to find with independent sellers, and if they do have it, it’s usually expensive. I gave it a second chance on dry skin and this time I found a bit more of the Profondo DNA, slightly more marine/oceanic; this time it smelled a bit less like Dylan Blue but honestly it feels very much within that Chanel Blue-Dylan Blue universe. And I see some say strange nuances emerge on skin… so the dry skin reception is understandable among the perfume fandom. The official price in Mexico is equivalent to $300 for 200ml, while independent prices are around $150. You know what else is happening? The fragrance fandom is starting to realise the European perfumery scam: they declare everything as EDP, Parfum, or Elixir, but in reality, they are colognes that only project when you first apply them and you never hear from them again. Demand was dropping, proposals are overexploited, and overall quality is low. And they even dared to release a Profondo Toilette, haha.
Canary Scent. Good ones, the same thing happened to me: at first it smelled bad, and only when the mimosa became noticeable did it improve. I let it macerate for a couple of months and it changed completely. You’ll see how much better it gets.
I gave it another go, and no, I still don’t like it. It has the Dylan Blue profile but with salty nuances that, for me, border on unpleasant. The Blue archetype from Chanel and Dylan Blue work well as they are; adding marine salty touches just to follow the trend of blue fragrances within the Profondo concept is a bad idea. It doesn’t convince me. That said, it has decent longevity and moderate-to-low projection.
I have half of a 200ml bottle left and have just made a backup of the same size; it’s been on my skin for 6-7 hours with no issues. If I believed all the negative reviews, I wouldn’t have a single one left. Haha.
I insist, RICH SCENT: a darker Profondo, but it’s a shame they call it ‘PARFUM’ concentration. It’s one of the most shameful things in the industry; this is an EDT. If anything, it lasts 4 hours and I’ve tested it in autumn, winter and summer. I bought a 200 ml bottle in official retail here in Chile for almost $90; I would never recommend buying at full price due to its longevity, it’s a shame. If I recommend it, it’s if you catch a deal for the 200 ml for $100 or less, get a bottle; I would never buy a 50 or 100 ml bottle at retail price.
Where I live in the countryside, we do composting and I never thought I would find a fragrance that so naturally reminded me of rotting fruit and vegetation like this. Much less an Acqua di Gio. It’s easily the worst fragrance I’ve tried; the scent doesn’t just not please me, it makes me feel disgusted, literally like rotting fruit. I don’t know how someone could create this, let alone Mr Morillas, without realising it smells horrible. As for performance, there’s nothing to say because it’s not worth it and not notable. This has nothing to do with Profondo or Acqua di Gio; they should discontinue it instead of their best fighting horses.
I smelled it in a perfumery and my girlfriend and I loved it; it was the one we liked most out of all we tried, and believe me, we tried many. I can’t speak to the performance as I haven’t tested it properly, but the aroma is truly exquisite. I came here, saw the reviews and didn’t understand them; to my taste, it smells much better than the EDP. If it’s true that the price is high. It should also be said that this line isn’t very youthful; I see it as more for those 25 and above.
Very well crafted fragrance. It has that aquatic touch of the Acqua di Gio DNA but feels much more mature. The citrus notes blend well with the marine ones, which stand out more but create a good balance. It’s a mature and seductive scent, elegant, for formal occasions. It makes you smell important and like a proper gentleman. It’s not youthful; I wouldn’t wear it to clubs, but rather for dinners or meetings. Good projection in both cold and heat. If you’re a fan of the Acqua di Gio DNA and are looking for something more elegant and mature, it’s a very good buy. PS: (A few hours later, my girlfriend started to think the scent smelled like sweat, haha, probably due to the aquatic and salty notes).
I would define it as this: masculine, elegant, serious, with a strong character, dark, slightly fresh, more nocturnal than the original and more masculine. It retains versatility but is more serious and formal. I see it for evening occasions, more special than the Profondo EDP. Lasts about 6-7 hours with considerable projection for 2 hours. If you want to make a presence with mystery and masculinity with character, this fragrance achieves it. It’s for that kind of man. (I liked it). Final note: 8/10 (I deducted 2 points for longevity, considering it is a Parfum concentration).
Let’s not get into the habit of reviewing fragrances exactly as we smell them, not like the user below who uses AI.
To cut to the chase: this is Blue de Chanel Parfum at 20 minutes. It’s the same as the OG plus the Profondo signature. To my taste, it’s more purposeful, although it loses projection. It’s more elegant and refined, suitable for everything. The Chanel version costs over £150, whereas this one cost me £115. For a fraction of the price, you get the same DNA with a marine plus. In short: the OG is the beach troublemaker, the Parfum is the money man, the capo. Recommended.
Smells amazing, an elegant, relaxed, fresh and expensive aroma. Acidic and marine, like when the breeze hits you while sipping limoncello. Very alpha male; imagine the boss on holiday at the beach, lying down with sunglasses, whiskey on the rocks and a cigar. This is what he would smell like.
Smells fresh and I liked it.
Top notes are elegant yet serious; that’s why some criticise it for lacking versatility. Ideal if you’re a pro dealing with executives or work in formal fields like law. It looks luxurious in a harbour. Simply a marvel.
