A review in three acts: 1. In the perfumerie, I smell it and think: ‘How strange! It’s fresh, aquatic, salty… nothing like Alien. Not bad, it’s refreshing, but Mugler would have called it something else. It doesn’t offend me, but I can live without it. I won’t buy it.’ 2. That day in March, the shop assistant sprayed me (even my scarf). Two months later, in May, I notice a soft, fresh scent in a corner of my living room. Where does it come from? The jacket from that day is now impregnated with Mirage. There’s the Mugler name shouting out, though not the Alien name so much; this perfume has its own thing. 3. I received the perfume. I said I could live without it, but I found it at half price. I smell it calmly: it’s fresh, aquatic, airy, and lovely. Despite its mineral salty note, it’s feminine and delicate. If I were zodiacal, I’d say it’s an air sign (I’m Aquarius, hehe). Conclusion: If you love Alien for its strength and sweetness, stay away; you’ll hate it because it has nothing to do with the classic or Essence Absolue. But if you’re looking for something that defines you, that stands out from the ordinary, and is fresh and mysterious, it could be the launch of the year. The funniest part is that I went from ‘I can live without it’ to ‘it will be in my life for as long as I can have it’.
What a beautiful fragrance! I heard it was aquatic, for summer, fresh and blue like the sea. Nah, fresh scents don’t seduce me; I’m an autumn-winter person, I love amber, oud, leather and incense. I wasn’t interested. I arrived at the perfumerie, with testers closed due to covid🙄, and the assistant sprayed it on a girl. I snuck up and sprayed it myself. I was scolded, but then I felt that rich scent on my wrist. Nothing like other versions of Alien, but is it summery? Is it fresh? Come on. Mugler plus water doesn’t seem to work. It’s powerful, makes a presence and has projection worthy of a Mugler. What does it smell like? Hard to describe: it’s a rare floral, with metallic notes that give it a peculiar touch. The amber adds creaminess and feels somewhat green. I don’t think it’s for summer, perhaps for a cool night. It’s elegant, special and I have to study it more.
I’m a total Mugler fan; I adore Alien and Aura, so I jumped at Mirage blindly. Honestly, I still can’t decide if I’ll like it. The trail is nice, but it doesn’t fully convince me; I expected something fresher, and it turns out to be very heavy. Just one spray, and after five minutes, it becomes overwhelming and feels too enveloping. Hard to wear in the heat; it doesn’t let you breathe. I’ll give it a second chance, but I think it’s too overpowering, very heavy and sweet. Update: definitely not for me; it gives me a headache and has a sour note that doesn’t appeal to me. A total let-down.
What a beautiful fragrance! Listen, I also heard it was aquatic, for summer, blue as the sea, undoubtedly fresh. But I’m not seduced by summer perfumes; I’m more of an autumn-winter person; I love amber, oud, leather, and incense, so I wasn’t interested. I went to the perfumerie to browse, and with the testers stuck together due to covid, who can resist such temptation??? Coincidentally, when the assistant was spraying it on a girl, I snatched it quietly and applied it. I was scolded a lot, but then I started smelling that rich scent on my wrist. What is this??? Nothing like the other Aliens, sure, but… summery? Fresh? Come on, I don’t think Mugler is more watered-down in this life! It’s a powerful perfume, not as much as the original, but it makes a presence and has projection worthy of Mugler. What does it smell like? Hard to describe; it’s a rare floral, I don’t know what the metallic notes smell like, but they give it a peculiar touch. Characteristic, I like it. The amber adds creaminess and feels a bit green. Not for summer, I think; more for a cool evening; it’s elegant and special; I need to study it more.
What a pleasant surprise. It doesn’t resemble anything in my collection; I’d read that it was compared to Kenzo Power World and they have nothing to do with each other. Alien Mirage is powerful, with a huge trail and wonderful longevity. The lotus flower, the syringe and the amber dominate, making it sexy and addictive, mixed with metallic notes that make it unique. I find it versatile, although I’m using it now that it’s cold. I’d definitely buy it again. A delight!

I bought it by mistake! I was looking for a scent I smelled at Ulta but couldn’t remember which of the two bottles I ordered was the correct one. I took a risk and ordered two. When I received them, I was disappointed at first: it wasn’t the scent I expected. I told myself, ‘give it another chance’. I used it all the next day and I loved it! The initial notes are mineral (salt) and floral (that flower smell I used to pull from my childhood to play), but then come precious notes. It’s a sweet scent I can’t describe because it doesn’t resemble anything I’ve ever smelled. I’m fascinated; it’s addictive, soft, gentle, and nothing aggressive.

Two sprays are enough to go through a mask. Wow, a fresh, aquatic, airy and crystal clear EDT, but with all the punch of a Mugler. Don’t let the illusion fool you: Mirage is fresh and oceanic, but the lotus flower and white amber give it sweetness and an overwhelming personality. Very elegant, versatile, for day and night. Subtle but special. Of all the flankers I know, this is the one that strays most from the Alien family. I think Mirage could have been a star perfume with the right advertising and if 2020 hadn’t been so unlucky. Fabulous for me: the longevity and trail are fantastic for an aquatic EDT. The bottle, beautiful as no other, from another planet…💙 All respect to Ropion, undoubtedly a master.
With two sprays, you go through the mask and are left speechless. It’s a fresh, aquatic, and crystal-clear EDT, but with all the power of a Mugler. Don’t be fooled by the mirage: Mirage is oceanic, yes, but the lotus flower and white amber give it a sweetness and an overwhelming personality. Very elegant, versatile, for day and night. Subtle yet special, with lots of personality. Of all the flankers I know, it’s the one that strays most from Alien. I think it could have been a star perfume with proper advertising, and if 2020 hadn’t been such a rotten year. For me, it’s been fabulous… the longevity and trail are fantastic for an aquatic EDT. The bottle, beautiful as no other, from another planet…💙 All respect to Ropion, undoubtedly a master, unique.
It’s a rare scent, no denying that. Fresh and unisex opening that reminds me of Natura’s Kaiak aero. You can feel the Alien DNA from start to finish, although in the opening it’s when it resembles the progenitor the least. As it floats in the air, you realise it’s not for everyone: you must enjoy fresh scents with a masculine touch. In the middle of its evolution, the floral appears, before it’s spiced and mineral; at the dry down it’s totally Alien with undeclared jasmine and that creamy amber. I was scared of it, but I loved it.
The Alien furthest from the original concept: Mirage opens salty and ambered, like the skin of cetaceans, salty and oily. Then it slowly mutates into an aquatic dominated by the lotus flower, always with that salty base. The projection is subtle for an Alien, and the longevity hovers around six hours. Despite being an enthusiast of the line, it has nothing to do with the woody floral of the EdP; I find it unforgettable but very original, I know nothing similar. I see it as unisex but leaning feminine, informal, to wear during the day in the shoulder season or summer. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 7/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 8/10.
@yesteves, someone with a better understanding of chemistry could explain it more clearly, but natural perfumes evolve like wines, changing colour as they mature, turning more amber or darker. That doesn’t mean they’ve turned sour, although they go through changes before that happens. The shift from blue to amber is surprising; if they start out yellow or pink, it’s less noticeable. Even Chanel had complaints about green perfumes that turned brown in two years, with people thinking it was poor quality, when it’s usually synthetics that stay intact. It happens to me with an Angel by Mugler that goes from blue to amber. I also have a miniature of Angel Garden of Stars Violette by Mugler, which is brown when it should be violet, and after 15 years it still hasn’t turned sour. I hope I’ve helped. Best regards!
I love it. I detect notes similar to Love Story by Chloé. A question: I bought the Mirage version at a prestige perfumerie; the box has codes and a valid QR on the official website, but the liquid is NOT blue, neither mine nor the tester in the shop, both are amber. Why? Either way, it’s a scent I adore: soft but noticeable, not as sweet as usual, but very nice.
It’s a scent I love. I sense some notes similar to Chloé Love Story. I have a question: I bought the Mirage version at a prestige perfumerie; the box comes with codes and QR accepted on the official Mugler website, but the liquid is NOT blue, neither the one I bought nor the tester in the shop is amber. Can anyone explain why? Anyway, it’s a scent I love. Soft yet noticeable, not as sweet as I’m used to, but it’s fine.
@Ícara, thank you very much, yes, something like that. Take a look at the opening photos: there are blue bottles and others that are amber. The perfume is delicious and not sharp at all. Thank you for your kindness.
Wow, if you’re looking for something different, this is it. It’s an overwhelming fragrance that needs to be applied with moderation; the projection is excellent and it lasts forever. Intense, ideal for cool or cold climates, as it can become overpowering in the heat. Don’t buy it blindly, but it’s worth trying: it’s unique and can captivate if it connects with your skin. With my chemistry, it smells like creamy watermelon. It opens salty, and that marine note persists, along with some metallic touches that give it character. Calone makes it unisex, but the sweet floral bouquet leans it towards the feminine side, so you should enjoy sweet scents; the cypress is barely noticeable once it dries down.
