I’ve never had the opportunity to smell the famous Baccarat Rouge 540 that it’s said to resemble, but I do have Ariana Grande’s Cloud and they are practically identical. Although this one is softer and lasts less on the skin. But it smells divine, it’s elegant, mysterious, and addictive. I recommend it for the night. I have perfumes much more expensive, and when I’m unsure, I opt for this… For the price it has (6 euros / 100ml), excellent value for money. And the bottle and box are gorgeous, much prettier than in the photos.

  • According to several reviews I read, it says it resembles the famous Baccarat Rouge 540, and yes, it resembles it a lot; they share four common notes: saffron, jasmine, ambergris, and cedar. This one from Jeanne Arthes, of course, is much softer and has less longevity, but it is very, muuuy, similar; it’s a good alternative if you don’t want or can’t spend what Baccarat costs. The best thing is its price, quite recommended.

  • This is my first introduction to Jeanne Arthes and the truth is, I’m pleasantly surprised. I’ve compared this perfume with BCR450 and Cloud, side by side, and I’d say it’s an intermediate version between the two. Obviously, all three share the typical DNA, but here we also find the creamy/lactonic point that is in Cloud and not in BCR450. However, the coconut is much more prominent and sweet in Cloud than in this creation. The truth is, they are 90% similar. In terms of performance, this is probably the weakest of the three (of the four if we count Red Temptation from Zara). Nevertheless, it has a duration of about 4-5 hours on skin and much longer on clothes. Precisely, I don’t see it as a drawback because it seems to me the most affordable option of all of them for spring/summer, when the others overwhelm me quite a bit. I personally don’t dislike the bottle; I find it quite cute. And the atomiser seems to be of extremely high quality. Anyway, having got it for 5 euros for 100 mL… I recommend it a thousand times.

  • This is my first time with Jeanne Arthes and what a wonderful surprise. I tested it against BCR450 and Cloud, and it feels like a perfect middle ground between the two. They share that DNA, but this has that creamy, milky touch that the 450 lacks. Cloud’s coconut is much sweeter and stronger, though this smells about 90% the same. In terms of longevity, it’s the shortest of the four (including Zara’s Red Temptation), lasting around 4-5 hours on skin and longer on clothes. However, it suits me perfectly as the lightest option for spring and summer, when the others feel suffocating. The bottle is so cute and the atomiser is luxurious. Getting it for 5 euros per 100ml is madness; I’d recommend it a million times.

  • A fairly unisex scent; I don’t know if it’s because of the lavender (if you’re bold and the fragrance suits your personality), I enjoy it very much. For the price it has, it gives a performance of 5/6 hours on my skin and lasts quite a bit longer on clothes. The opening is a bit alcoholic but it’s only three seconds, then it gives way to citrus notes, the lavender, and some sweet notes but very moderate.

  • This budget fragrance shares several notes with the extravagant BCR 540 and, as such, has a well-achieved resemblance. It doesn’t last long, but the truth is BCR doesn’t last long on me either. For those who don’t want to spend to try the original, it gives you an idea and you decide whether to go for the Francis K. one or not.

I was gifted a decant of Baccarat Rouge 540 a couple of years ago. I found it very original, with a strong presence, and I liked it, but it’s not my style for the long haul; let’s see if I ever feel like using it. Yes, I love it, I enjoy it, but no more than that; after two or three days in a row, I get tired of it. I let my daughters try it, and one fell in love with it and started driving me crazy asking for it, but frankly, I wasn’t prepared to spend what the original costs, so looking for alternatives, I gifted her Cloud, Red Temptation, and this. Of the three, the one she likes the most is this one, and I agree; without a doubt, it’s the closest to B.R. 540. In fact, it’s the only one that shares so many notes and is so similar that I even feel the fir of BR even though it’s not listed; plus, it’s not as cloyingly sweet as Red Temptation or Cloud, the latter of which I personally think is the least similar and makes me gag with so much coconut, praline, and whipped cream, although Red Temptation also gets on my nerves because I find it very musky. Garden of Delight is drier, it highlights the saffron at the start and the oakmoss and cedar as it dries down, which I like and makes it more formal and similar to BR. On my daughter’s skin, it smells spectacular, it has good chemistry, and lasts about five hours with good projection; it might seem little, but for what it achieves and at 7€, there’s no need to complain; you get a perfume rollerball in your bag, you reapply, and on clothes it lasts a long time because my daughter’s room always smells like this even when she uses other perfumes; you just walk through the door and you can smell it. I’m convinced that only someone who uses the original regularly will notice the differences, especially on blotting paper because once on skin, they evolve differently on each and smell different, so it’s hard to distinguish them in the dry-down, let’s say it almost passes. Obviously, it doesn’t have the same performance as BR 540, but I prefer it to a clone in a horrible glass bottle, with a plastified linear fragrance that lasts the same or less and costs seven times more, and my daughter will definitely leave it at the bottom of a shelf gathering dust. I like this perfume a lot in itself, without comparisons; I think it’s a very good fragrance, for now my daughter is happy and she’s not bothering me anymore, but she does keep what’s left of her BR decant like it’s gold. In short, I like the bottle, it seems original to me, I find it very youthful, and the fragrance is a very good option if you don’t want to spend a fortune on BR 540 or simply if you like that style.

  • Of all the BCR dupes I’ve tried, this is the one that smells the most like it. I don’t use it much not because of the fragrance, but because it’s so overused that someone else is wearing it every two steps. If you don’t want to spend on the original, it’s a good option, and I believe it’s the most affordable.

  • I absolutely love it and it smells completely different from any other in the brand or the Amore Mio versions I’ve tried. You can detect the saffron, giving it a super original touch. Yes, it recalls Baccarat Rouge, which is everywhere lately (I’ve even heard it at the beach; someone wears it every five steps), but for wearing at home in the evening, it’s a delight. The longevity and sillage are incredible for this price. It smells like a fine perfume with personality and presence, featuring ancient woods and spices. It’s a sexy, very nocturnal and mysterious scent. If I had to assign it a colour, it would be Indian red, burgundy, or a desaturated scarlet. I wouldn’t wear it during the day or in summer.

I’m absolutely smitten with this perfume. It’s unique; there’s no trace of other scents from the brand or any Amore Mio versions I’ve tried. The saffron note gives it a super original touch. Yes, it smells like Baccarat Rouge, which is everywhere these days (I’ve heard it at the beach, on the street, someone’s wearing it every five steps), but for wearing it at night at home, it’s a delight. The longevity and sillage are incredible for this price. It smells good, with personality and presence, of old woods and spices. A sexy scent, very nocturnal and mysterious.
