Smells like Herbal Essences coconut shampoo; very synthetic. The bottle is eye-catching for little girls, but in my opinion, it’s not a good fragrance.
I heard it today and it smells like the Yves Rocher mango and coconut perfume from a few summers ago; the longevity and trail are also short, just like theirs.
I was given a sample and liked it, but buying it was my mistake. On my skin, it’s too cloying; it even makes me feel dizzy. It smells very much of coconut, similar to the Yves Rocher cologne. It’s fine for teenagers or anyone who loves coconut, but I don’t see it for myself. I prefer perfumes with more personality.
They gave me a sample card, I liked it and decided to buy it, and that was my mistake. Once on my skin it’s too cloying, even giving me a headache; it smells too much of coconut. I see it as similar to the Yves Rocher cologne; it’s fine for teenagers or for anyone who loves smelling of coconut, but I don’t see it for me; I prefer perfumes with more personality.
I have a sample and have never been a fan of fruity scents, but this surprised me. It smells like a fruit blend, with coconut, pineapple, and a touch of apple standing out. It’s like DKNY Be Delicious with the sweetness of coconut and the zing of pineapple. Although it’s fruity, I find it more elegant than Yves Rocher’s fruit colognes, which seem aimed at little girls. Escada is youthful and energetic. Perfect for a hot summer evening or afternoon.
I have a sample and, although I’ve never been a fan of fruity scents, this perfume surprised me. The scent has no mystery: it smells like a fruit mix, highlighting coconut, pineapple and a bit of apple. It’s as if it had a few drops of DKNY Be Delicious mixed with the sweetness of coconut and the spice of pineapple. Although it has fruity notes, it seems much more elegant than the Yves Rocher colognes, which seem like they’re for little girls. Escada is youthful and energetic; those are the words. Perfect for a hot summer evening or afternoon.
I love this fragrance; on hot days I wear it every day, even to work. This cheerful and relaxed tropical scent reminds me of holidays and I can already see myself on the beach, on the sand, tanned, in the sea, super happy… It’s nothing like Yves Rocher fruit colognes; Born in Paradise is much more elegant, nothing to do with them.
What a tragic story this eau de toilette has… I heard it last winter when it was launched and fell in love after a girl sprayed it on me. Being so summery, I waited until summer 2014 to buy it. It was the perfect scent: watermelon, coconut, pineapple, apple, cream… A tropical and exotic cocktail, a creamy and sweet piña colada. The pure essence of summer in a beautiful blue-green bottle with a pink flower on the cap that served as a ring. I took the 50 ml and enjoyed it… for about two weeks. Barely two weeks later, my sister knocked it over by accident and broke it. Well, at least the room smelled of Born in Paradise for weeks or months. I hope to get it again soon; it’s a perfect summer perfume. Perfect!
For now the bottle is new but has poor longevity. It has a strange opening: the creaminess of the coconut dampens the freshness of the watery sweetness of the watermelon; in my opinion they don’t blend well. The rest is guava and cedar.
What a tragic story behind this delight… I smelled it last winter and fell in love. I waited until summer 2014 to buy it: watermelon, coconut, pineapple, apple, and cream. A perfect tropical cocktail. The bottle is a lovely seafoam green with a pink flower that serves as a ring. I took 50ml and enjoyed it… for two weeks. My sister accidentally broke it. At least the room smelled like Born in Paradise for weeks or months. Perfect for summer.
Very sweet, a piña colada scent. It smells relaxed and fun, perfect for enjoying the summer.
Too sweet for my taste.
Delicious! It’s Caribbean summer in a bottle. On my skin, the watermelon and coconut stand out; I associate it with joy, the beach and fresh fruit. It doesn’t smell synthetic, but rather natural, lively and fruity. I’m definitely considering it for this summer.
A 100% summer fragrance, impossible at any other time. Watermelon, kiwi and piña colada… it’s a hit with the younger crowd (and not so much with the older generation). It smells great to me and is cheerful for beach nights or informal plans. It’s not elegant, but it lasts a long time and is very fun.
Delightful; bottled Caribbean summer. On my skin, the watermelon and coconut stand out; I associate them with summer, joy, and the beach. It doesn’t seem synthetic, but rather natural, youthful, and fruity. Without a doubt, I’m considering buying it for this summer.
100% summer fragrance: watermelon, kiwi, and piña colada. It charms both the young and the not-so-young. I find it cheerful for the beach or casual plans. Not elegant, but it has wonderful longevity and is very fun.
Besides the coconut and pineapple, I detected a peach aroma… Too fruity and sweet. I presume it’s only suitable for an age range of 15 to 20 years. Cheerful, teenage, beachy, summery… Too expensive. There are many other very similar perfumes with better prices (and even more delicate).
Instant love upon trying it. It’s perfect, super summery, and reminds me of the Caribbean. The top notes reveal coconut and watermelon. Pity it’s a limited edition. It resembles Dot by Marc Jacobs, but it’s not the same. Afterwards, on the skin, they bear no resemblance at all.
I have this fragrance, and the first time I smelled it, I was instantly smitten. It’s perfect, super summery and reminds me of the Caribbean! I love that in the top notes, the coconut and watermelon are clearly perceptible. It’s a pity it’s a limited edition; the only similar one in the top notes but not the same is Dot by Marc Jacobs, it’s a style but not the same, and afterwards, the body of the perfume doesn’t resemble it at all.
I bought this perfume without having heard of it before (there were no testers in the shop), letting myself be guided by the reviews and hoping it would smell more like sunscreen than a piña colada… When I smelled it, my nose didn’t find the sunscreen resemblance, but rather a piña colada (which I don’t dislike, I must say). I really expected more sweet coconut, but it feels very subtle. Nevertheless, after using it several times, I like it more; it’s a rich, youthful, informal perfume, ideal for days in cold months and summer evenings. Something I adore is its fixation on clothes; it smells wonderful, and I think I like it more on clothes than on skin. Without a doubt, for summer informal beach parties, it would be my first choice 🙂
I was fascinated by my first Escada ‘Turquoise Summer’; I finished it in a month and decided to buy a second bottle along with ‘Born in Paradise’. I must say that the latter doesn’t quite suit me: I feel the coconut very strongly, but more like oil than coconut milk. It smells like sunscreen, which I don’t entirely like. When it softens, I can feel the sweet fruity blend, although I don’t detect a specific fruit, just a sweet fruity aroma with that persistent coconut oil smell that doesn’t convince me.
I love it. I bought the 100ml and now I have the 30ml. It smells fresh and soft, neither strong nor annoying. The watermelon with coconut is quite noticeable, and I detect a slight touch of pineapple-apple. Its fixation is very good.
‘Born in Paradise’ is so fun and playful that it screams beach and party; it seems clearly youthful. I agree that it smells like a piña colada, and I like that: it’s sweet but not cloying. Besides the pineapple and coconut, I detect watermelon and guava; the sandalwood is barely a whisper. It’s a fragrance that invites you to smile, simple but charming, witty, the soul of the party, although I think its scent is very teenage. Sillage and longevity are moderate.
Simply delicious, sweet and wearable. It invites you to summer even on the coldest days thanks to the coconut milk and pineapple, which give a sweet and fresh touch.
A delicate and tender scent for hot days. On my skin, the watermelon, guava and pineapple stand out at the start; then the sandalwood appears with a musky touch, although the watermelon remains. It’s a rich smell, but on my skin it doesn’t last long: about 3 or 4 hours with a low sillage. It’s for personal enjoyment ♡♡♡. What luck for those who love it so much 🌻.
Although my passion for perfumes is relatively recent, I always looked forward to Escada’s summer launches with great excitement. From ‘Island Kiss’ to ‘Born in Paradise’, I tried them all, and this one is my favourite, along with ‘Rockin’ Río’. Wearing it feels like travelling to French Polynesia (just in my dreams, haha) with a piña colada in hand: paradise in a bottle. It opens with exotic fruits, guava and pineapple, which soon give way to coconut and watermelon. The heart is sweet and creamy, led by the coconut, with a woody base. I don’t know why I’m so fascinated by how simple and ‘artificial’ it is. I’ve lost count of how many times it’s been gifted to me; it’s by far the one I own the most and still love the most. It’s relaxed, fresh, fun, youthful, feminine and very summery. The longevity was decent, better than their disappointing recent launches, though it did need reapplying. I’ve kept a finger of my last bottle as a souvenir; although there are dupes, I would love for Escada to return with this tropical cocktail, as they did in 2011. I’m sure I’d be a hit.
I absolutely loved it! The coconut was very dominant, and I used it non-stop in the summer. I really hope Escada brings it back, just as they did with Sorbetto Rosso, another one of my favourites.
