My mother bought this when I was a teenager and it smelled divine. It’s a sweet intoxicating intense fragrance typical of a coastal summer but for me it’s too much. I can’t stand it; it doesn’t just make me dizzy it makes me want to vomit. I learned here that two people with the same blood can react to a perfume in completely different ways. It made my stomach acid rise the moment I sprayed it what a fright. Although it has an interesting composition on me it projects all the scents I detest. It’s simply nauseating. Perhaps I’ll change my mind when I try it again at 28 and will edit the review for the final verdict.

Who on earth put basil in this? Within two seconds it smelled like rotting lettuce on my skin… a pity because the sweetness wasn’t bad but those green notes… yuck… a real downer. My husband gave it to me and I had to pass it on to someone else; I couldn’t bear the rotten smell.

  3. It smells nice but lacks performance and good longevity; it stays right on the skin. You’d have to reapply for others to perceive the scent which is rich but poor in projection. It’s hard to find and isn’t economical without offering good performance.

It’s a good perfume with very good longevity and it’s affordable. The opening is the richest with a fresh green feel then those sweet fruity notes with caramel and vanilla very rich ideal for everyday wear.

Escada Magnetism has the essence of the 90s and 2000s. It’s multifaceted sweet herbal fruity vanilla-scented and talc-like. The basil note is noticeable which is why those not used to it might find it strange. But it’s like a cocktail; mixing green notes with red fruits and sweets creates an interesting balance that gives it versatility sparkle and sophistication. It’s a different gourmand; imagine a red fruit chew with a mint filling that’s the idea. One of the best from Escada the best thing is its price. It seems to be discontinued as it’s not very common to see it nowadays. If you spot it give it a chance if you like different sweet scents.

I don’t know what to say about this blessed perfume; it’s just another one of the bunch… There are excellent perfumes at a better price than Escada. Unfortunately the brand died a long time ago and doesn’t breathe or produce good perfumes anymore. This is simply another one that smells like fruit juice with nothing interesting like all the others they’ve released and every limited edition every so often… They’re not worth the price the scent or anything else. If you buy three Escada perfumes you’ll think you bought the same one three times by mistake.

  7. The first time I smelled it I hated it because I’d never smelled anything so sweet with green notes and now… I can’t live without it. The more I use it the more I like it. Sweet and fresh at the same time a constant evolution of sweet and fresh green one of the few gourmands you can wear even in summer. Sweet fresh versatile intense and wonderful. A fresh gourmand not intrusive yet not unnoticed with very good longevity. This suits all tastes but if you haven’t liked it it’s because you haven’t tried it more than once; the more you use it the more essential it becomes. Good trail and longevity. 9/10

  8. I’ve been using it since its launch and as soon as I tried it it became my signature. It’s a very intense sweet scent but not annoying or cloying an elegant sweet sensual and with lots of personality. Over the years it’s been praised by many even making it part of their daily wear. It’s intense and long-lasting so much so that you imbue whoever you greet hug or anything you touch. That might annoy people but I love it.

  9. The opening smells of red berries and lychee then moves to a floral bouquet and the dry down is musky and caramelised. The problem is that the stages don’t overlap or blend; you smell them all separately. First fruit then just flowers and finally just caramel and musk so there’s little magic. The worst part was that I applied quite a lot all over my body and had neither trail nor longevity; I could only smell it if I brought my wrists close for 30 minutes and by 2 hours it had disappeared.

It’s a personality-filled fragrance, though it dries down to something more classic. It suits young girls or anyone with a youthful spirit perfectly 🙂

I struggle to define it as the notes blend together, highlighting vanilla, berries, and currants with a hint of cherry. It’s youthful, mysterious, and very sweet, lasting 4-5 hours with good projection without being overpowering. It doesn’t smell of basil, but has a green note that balances the sweet fruits. I’d wear it in the evening or on cold days; in heat, it becomes too sweet and tiring, much like other sweet scents. It’s not childish, yet very cheerful; once someone told me it smelled like a little princess.

  12. My aunt gifted me a sample years ago, and I fell in love. I wore it constantly and kept the little bottle. After many years, I bought it again, much cheaper haha, and it never ceases to surprise me. It brings back memories, and my partner adores it, so it’s a resounding yes. I have no regrets in continuing to buy it.

  13. On my skin, it reminds me hugely of Kilian Princess. I’d been longing for it for years but didn’t dare buy it; the tester in the shop was in poor condition. Fortunately, I ordered blind because I love it. If you enjoy sweet, vanilla gourmands, you must try it.

  14. It’s the best fragrance I’ve ever used, with great presence. On my skin, it’s sweet but not cloying at all, lasting all day, and suitable for daytime or a night party. It’s a pity it’s no longer sold in Mexico, but I love it and there’s nothing quite like it.

  15. It’s a fantasy, a scent that draws lots of attention. Whenever I wear it, I realise I can’t go unnoticed. It has character without being that overbearing ‘granny’ perfume. It’s cheerful, fresh, fruity, and sweet. You’ll love it if you enjoy fruity fragrances. It smells like spring.

It’s a particular scent. It’s not sweet at all; it’s floral but with green notes that cut through the flowers. You can quite detect the basil, with caramel and vanilla in the background. It has a touch of unisex appeal. The box and bottle make it look like a different type of perfume, but it’s not the sweet and feminine one we’re often presented with. It’s not a bad perfume, but it shouldn’t be bought blind; better to try it first.

  19. I bought it blind, influenced by reviews saying it was very sweet, though some mentioned it smelled of basil, which put me off. Still, I decided to take the risk. Unfortunately, the first impression was pure basil, which I didn’t like at all. It lasts a while and is persistent, but luckily, on my skin, it turns sweet and the basil doesn’t stand out anymore.

  20. It has been my signature scent for nearly 20 years. That blend of caramel and berries always reminds me of cotton candy; it smells magical, like those Christmas fair days when we used to dress up. It’s enchanting, feminine without being overpowering, lasts for ages, and I hope they never take it off the shelves.

A super sweet and warm fragrance, but very heavy. I didn’t like it at all; the moment I smelled it, I couldn’t even form an opinion. I can’t identify any clear notes, perhaps pineapple.

I tested Escada Magnetism on a casual outing. After sniffing numerous dryers in the store, this caught my attention due to its opening; I felt it was different and was looking for something recognisable yet unique. I gave it a chance, but after 30 minutes, the verdict was disappointment: it smelled like a 50p cologne, a mix of chewed gum and insecticide. I don’t know if it was my complicated pH or if the ingredients are low quality. I love fresh and citrus scents, but for me, they only last in the bottle or on the skin initially, then disappear and nobody notices them. That’s why I opt for strong fragrances, but this is a resounding no.

Seductive, nocturnal and sweet aroma. It’s like red berries with caramel, vanilla and a touch of green leaf. It has good sillage and longevity. The bottle is seductive with that dark raspberry tone.

It was a gift from my father and the only one he got right. It’s sweet but not sticky. It smells of acidic red berries with caramel, a hint of vanilla and patchouli with a smoky base, I suppose from the vetiver. It’s the only one that has received praise because on my skin it has excellent chemistry. Very good longevity and average projection. I will certainly repeat and buy it again.

I used to love this perfume at my parties and night outs with friends; it was a staple between 2003 and 2005. I can’t find it in department stores in Mexico anymore. On 1 August 2021, I received this perfume at home and I remember it as if it were yesterday. I love it! I feel it suits my age better now; I can’t explain why, but at 46, I like it more.

  26. I found it after a long and expensive search for my ideal perfume: Magnetism. It is a powerhouse of sweetness and red berries with hints of rose, super penetrating and intoxicating. In my country, I can get it at a good price. I suppose I will gradually spend the others I tried that didn’t convince me.

It was a blind buy, the worst mistake. I saw it in a discount store at a very good price and, based on the excellent reviews I read, I bought it. To my disappointment, it smells like cheap bathroom air freshener.

  28. I remember testing this fragrance on my skin two or three times. It was sweet, more like caramel. It had good longevity and sillage. At the time, I didn’t buy it because I purchased others. Some time later, I went with the intention of buying it, only to find that in my country, Argentina, it was no longer available. What a pity. A true shame that it has been discontinued. It happened with other fragrances: I liked them, but for one reason or another I didn’t buy them, and then they stopped being manufactured.

One of my favourite babies is the fourth bottle I own and I always buy it again; it’s my preferred fragrance. It smells sweet and fruity, not tiring. I use it only for clubs because its aroma is like a lollipop with gum; it doesn’t drive me crazy. This scent makes you want to eat it; I recommend it to girls.
