I use the lighter Eau de Toilette version myself, but I gifted this perfume to my mother when it launched and she absolutely loved it. Besides the beautiful bottle, which looks stunning on a dressing table, it reminded her of a French perfume from the 80s. It’s floral, sweet, feminine and quite long-lasting. I like that it’s not overpowering or smells like a very wealthy older lady. It’s for a woman who is beautiful in her own right, without needing to show off or overload herself with accessories.

Yesterday, on my first Christmas Eve without my mother, the person I love most, I decided to wear her perfume, Comme une Évidence EDP. It was always her signature scent; she wore many, but this was the one she wore for the longest time, the one that suited her best and the one I always smelled when I hugged or kissed her. The Le Parfum version has an even more powerful sillage and yesterday it clung to me for 14 hours without fail. To me, it smells just like the original, but more intense with a spicier touch. It’s a mature, intense, linear, very feminine fragrance, perhaps a bit old-school, with lots of florals and a potent patchouli. It might not suit everyone due to the ingredients and could seem dated to some, but for obvious emotional reasons, for me it is simply perfect. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 9/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
