I tried a set from this brand and Desert Rosewood is the one I’ve liked the most: very woody and resinous with a sweet amber base without being cloying. Defined for cold weather with spectacular performance. If you like woody oriental scents and want your presence to be felt, give it a try. Scent 8.5/10, longevity 10/10, trail 9/10.

Desert Rosewood: one of the best discoveries of the year. It’s a woody, resinous fragrance with a sweet vanilla and amber base that doesn’t become cloying. Many consider it an autumn scent, but I wear it in summer and it works wonderfully. It’s totally unisex and timeless. The performance is incredible: 7-8 hours on skin with a good trail and high to moderate projection. Curiously, on my husband the projection is exaggerated and lasts for hours.
It’s a woody fragrance with a tea-like finish that surprised me. Ideal for spring or autumn, though it worked brilliantly on a summer rainy day. Among my G&B collection, it has the shortest longevity and projection (I own PRM and BL): it fades after two hours and disappears by four, though it’s still detectable if you press your nose close. For my masculine nose, I liked it very much (my wife not so much). Perhaps due to its lower performance and feeling less versatile than the others, I give it 8/10.

It bears a slight resemblance to Nishane’s Ani.
I just picked this up because it reminds me of YSL’s M7, the classic version with the square bottle and bronze-brown liquid. It’s elegant and of classic calibre. Update: the sillage and longevity are phenomenal. It scents at 8-10 hours and lasts 8 hours on skin plus 12 on clothes. It’s spectacular.

To be clear: it smells like the neighbour’s fried fish. The opening has a spiced cardamom reminiscent of Cartier Declaration, but the base is original Old Spice. My father has worn this for years; when he smells it, he says, ‘get dressed, we’re leaving in five’. If you’re looking for that lost, reformulated essence, here it is, improved with better longevity.
8.5/10: worth it, though it leaves me speechless. That said, the compliments come in buckets.
8.5/10, it’s good but doesn’t drive me wild, though I have received several compliments.
