A name that sounds like an Elvish city from The Lord of the Rings but actually means ‘Dew of Essaouira’, a coastal city in Morocco. It reminds me a great deal of L’eau d’Issey and has little bits of Millesime Imperial from Creed (perhaps due to the salty touch). It is fresh, aquatic, salty, spiced, and with a slight musk. I see it as perfect for tropical and hot climates. Highly recommended!

Another aquatic aromatic fragrance that came in the brand’s free samples. At first, sea water with spices and balsamic touches. After three hours, it remains the same. By seven hours, I start to notice the sandalwood. By twelve, it’s sandalwood and musk. The trail was moderate and lasted 12 hours on me, using almost the entire sample. It suits me more for summer or spring, during the day, although it holds up at night thanks to the spices and sandalwood. It’s more interesting than marine fougères, but it didn’t excite me too much, hee hee.

  • I bought a decant looking for something like Kenzo EDTI without the olfactory fatigue, and yes, it has that vibe but with more seriousness and realism. I’ve never smelled so much spice; it leaves me divided: on one hand, the cumin smells like animal sweat, on the other, like oriental food. Combined with the marine notes (soapy and clean), it creates a brilliant contrast. I imagine a desert by the sea, but I struggle to separate it from the smell of sweat (and someone else’s, because mine doesn’t smell like that). The good thing is the dry-down: the spices fade, sandalwood emerges, and the marine note gains a dry, earthy accent. The experience is magnificent, but I’m still not sure whether to wear it; my fear is that people will mistake me for someone dirty. I don’t know if it will project the heavy cumin or the lovely base. I’ll give it more thought; it’s a love-hate relationship, a challenging scent that I’ll surely come to adore with time.
