It has a lasting smell of sweet pear with a floral touch which is the magnolia and a slightly more intense note which would be the patchouli or amber.
I’m only trying it now, although I’ve had it for some time. Its opening is very pleasant, at least for me, but it doesn’t seem to last long or leave a noticeable trail, at least on my skin. In my case, I can smell the magnolia, although with a touch more of amber and patchouli, which would perhaps make it last a bit longer.
I bought it blindly back then and I loved it. I liked that sweet touch but absolutely not cloying, and the prominent floral without being too loud. Quite feminine and nice for everyday use. I adored putting it on during the day and going out to do my things. Now, I don’t recommend it to people who like to stand out. It’s quite understated.
Excellent perfume for its price-quality ratio. Is it sweet? Yes. Cloying? No. The pear and magnolia give it a very feminine touch, without being heavy; the patchouli isn’t exaggerated; on the contrary, it gives it certain depth. Youthful, sexy, and light.
Homework assignment: theme composition SUGAR IN MODERN PERFUMES. There are thousands of perfumes with an excess of glucose, and this is just one more.
I hoped Free would be citrus-floral-sweet based on the description, but on me the opening was a bit bitter, like a slight smell of burnt caramel; I’m not sure if from the magnolia or the lily; afterwards it turned ambered, with a masculine amber note, so it dried down like a discrete masculine fragrance. I think we didn’t have a good connection, but I’m surprised how it behaves differently on each person. Who will like it: those who like the burnt caramel-type sweet note.
When I put on Free, it reminds me a bit of my Ciel Nuit Violeta, which I also own and is a classic. For Argentinians, Ciel is super well-known; it’s a national brand, affordable, and very good for everyday wear. For the price, you can’t ask for more. Both follow that sweet line, but I find Ciel Nuit more potent, interesting, and creamy; Free dries down fresher, floral, and sweet. I like how it settles and I’m glad they aren’t identical, as I bought the Violeta months ago. Although they follow the same path, they dry down differently. Just to clarify, Free isn’t fresh at all; compared to the Violeta on my skin, it dries down lighter and more floral, whereas the Violeta is more gourmand. I perceive Free as a very sugary floral; it’s delicious if you like sweets, but if you don’t… stay away, I don’t think you’ll like it. Ideally for cool or cold weather (the truth is I can’t specify longevity, I intuit it’s not a winter bomb but pleasant with low temperatures; I wouldn’t wear it in the heat because its sweetness would make me feel sick). Although I don’t feel it’s that potent, I wouldn’t mind if it faded a bit and left a subtle sweetness, because I think if I wore it all day, it would become cloying if it were too intense. In cool weather, I don’t think it would be cloying. It’s very nice but I don’t think it’s novel. In my opinion, having used many sweet perfumes since I was a child and they are my favourites, I’d say it’s just another sweet one; very commercial, youthful, and lovely, which doesn’t fail for women who like sweet scents, but it doesn’t cause me great surprise. What I really liked was the bottle; it looks different and the dressing table looks divine. To sum up, is it good? Yes, only for lovers of sweet fragrances. Recommended for the price? Yes, in Argentina I got it cheap; there are hardly any fragrances at the price I paid. Good for gifting? Yes, it looks very nice due to its scent and design, suitable for girls aged 15 or anyone who wants to wear it, considering its sweetness. It didn’t dry down masculine on me at all; I find it super feminine and delicate (thank goodness, as I don’t like unisex or leaning-masculine scents). The truth is, I liked it; I think it was a very good purchase that I’ll enjoy this winter. I recommend it.
