Today by Avon is a musky floral woody fragrance for women. Launched in 2004, the nose behind this composition is Olivier Cresp. The top notes are freesia, cactus and Madagascar jasmine; the heart notes include neroli, orange blossom, hibiscus (Jamaica flower, cayenne), bird of paradise and buddleja; while the base notes reveal musk, aquatic notes, woody notes, cedar and rose. This perfume was awarded the FiFi Award Fragrance of the Year Women's Private Label in 2005.

  • It is the twin of Gardenia Wao, a rich floral explosion. I love this perfume; it is a pity it is no longer available, but by chance I bought Gardenia based on its reviews, and to my surprise, it is identical to Today. What a lovely scent, very elegant and attention-grabbing. Ideal for a special outing and elegance. Nothing can envy the perfumes from recognised brands, so if you can still get it in your country, buy it and you will not regret it.

  • Today has a lot of personality; you either love it or hate it (something similar happens to me with the original Far Away). It is a flash of flowers. The trail is quite strong in my case and can linger until the next day. At first, I feel a bit dizzy and even annoyed by the tuberose and jasmine, but over time it softens and feels elegant yet very cheerful. Recommended from thirty upwards, perhaps (although I always say that everyone can wear what they want, but that is what the perfume conveys).

  • Avon went too far with this perfume. It reminds me of the style of Cabotine (not the scent, but that style of flowers that explode and shake you). It is a floral bomb with good longevity for a catalogue fragrance and a moderate trail. It is not linear; it is a complex of white flowers and very interesting for the price. I do not think it is for everyone, but the good thing about Avon is that they sell it in miniature sizes so you can try it before buying. At first, it seems super strong, then it changes and is not overwhelming. It lasts for hours with the Avon cream of the same brand. Anecdote: I applied it near a colleague, and he did not like the opening at all; he thought I had put on insect repellent. Later, when it settled, he asked what perfume it was and he liked it.

  • I am not one to use catalogue perfumes, but my grandmother gave me the first bottle, and I liked it so much that I now have two more. I love that it is a sophisticated fragrance at a very economical price. Like other comments, I recommend using few sprays because it is noticeable and can be overwhelming. I use two or at most three, and it lasts many hours.

The only thing I notice is orange blossom from start to finish. And it is not as strong as they say, of course, it depends on everyone. I admit that I do not care and it reaches a point where the scent becomes imperceptible to my nose. I would have liked it to be heavier on jasmine or tuberose and not just orange blossom; although I like that note, if I am looking for just orange blossom, I would go for Yves Rocher’s Matin Blanc.

  • Naluapilar

My mother, who sold Avon, gave me this perfume. I love it and have bought it again. It does not smell strong to me at all, and although it lasts, it has a moderate trail on the skin. The notes are wonderfully combined. It feels serene and elegant, perfect for various occasions. It has great quality; you just have to enjoy it without any complex.

What can I say? It is an essential fragrance in my collection. It has everything! It is the only one from Avon that I truly love. Upon application, it is intense; you can detect the orange blossom, but everything is well balanced: white flowers, buddleja, that cactus note which gives it a special touch, and an aquatic note that is not annoying. To me, it seems very elegant and ideal for women over twenty. It has a good trail, projection, and longevity. It lasts more than seven hours on the skin and over a day on clothes. I have been complimented many times; although some may not like the strong opening, the positive aspects win out. It is a high-quality jewel, created by Oliver Cresp, who has made perfumes for designers I adore such as Carolina Herrera, Kenzo, Dolce & Gabbana, or Nina Ricci. Without a doubt, it is a 10. As always, I recommend trying it first because it is special. It is still available in Avon’s catalogue in 50ml and 15ml as an exclusive.

  • What a treat! It begins with potent white flowers and a hint of acidity that makes it super fresh and sparkling. It lifts the mood and brings joy. At first, it might seem strong, but then it settles beautifully and is a delight. It is far and away the best from Avon and one of the finest jasmine and tuberose scents in history. I had it, I have it, and I will always have it.

  • I’m not a fan of florals; the combination of neroli and tuberose used to give me nose-tingles, but since it was so cheap, I gave it a try, and what a surprise. I loved it. The longevity is top-notch, and it smells of fresh, perfectly balanced flowers that are not at all overwhelming. I’m already itching to try more from Avon.

  • I didn’t like it at all. I have one from fifteen years ago that is still delicious, but this new version smells different: it lacks strength, isn’t very sweet, and has a musk note that doesn’t suit me at all. It was a total disappointment.

  • Reading reviews helped me overcome my prejudice against catalogue perfumes; I bought several and tried this one yesterday… a marvellous scent! I adore neroli and it really shines here. On my skin, the other notes just accompany and embellish beautiful, fresh neroli, less creamy than usual. During the day, it hits in waves, surprising you while you’re lost in thought. Moderate projection, good fixation (6 hours on skin), and suitable for all seasons, with a preference for spring and autumn. In summary, if you like white florals, especially neroli, it’s a magnificent alternative that has nothing to envy from a designer brand and often surpasses them at a fraction of the price.

  • I fell in love with Avon Today the moment it launched. It’s intense, feminine, and almost oily to the nose, though not to the touch. That touch of cactus surprised me; I always knew it had something, that ‘something special’ distinct from other Avon perfumes, more body, more essence, more personality. A rebellious, wild side accompanying the neroli. I bought the hand cream and it had the same intensity that captivated me. A catalogue jewel, a classic award-winner for a reason; Olivier Cresp says it all. His later versions didn’t come close; he set the bar very high. I’ll be back for it one day.

  • A blind buy and I have no regrets. It smells fresh and floral, dominated by freesia and neroli. It’s a daytime perfume that lasts quite a while.

  • Whitewaterlily89

My favourite Avon perfume and almost the only one I like from the brand. It’s exquisite, and once I put it on, I can’t stop smelling my wrist; it’s very addictive. It’s a special white floral with uncommon notes like cactus, buddleja, and bird of paradise. Neroli, freesia, and orange blossom stand out, with the cactus at the start, but the whole combination smells unique. Highly recommended; the trail is medium and the longevity is very good on my skin.

  • Cherrylicious

One of the best white floral scents I’ve ever tried. It literally smells like a garden of white flowers. It’s beautiful, and the bottle is heavy and elegant, perfectly reflecting what it is: powerful but classy.

  • Beautiful. I don’t get much longevity from any perfume, but this one does, and quite a bit. It has a strong trail; people noticed it from two metres away even with my mask on. It’s Avon’s champion for compliments. I see it as youthful, for teenagers and young girls :3

  • One of my favourites from Avon. It’s clear they dominate white florals and it lasts a long time. Simply delicious, fresh yet intense, ultra-feminine. I love it.

  • Today is a classic white floral with a hint of cactus. Rather than musk, it smells slightly bitter, like soap, but very elegant. Restrained for special occasions. Trail and projection are medium; it lasts about 5 or 6 hours on skin and longer on clothes. The bottle is a simple beauty. For lovers of neroli.

  • Chilli narizona

It’s a bouquet of luxurious white flowers, super sophisticated for a proper woman. Just be careful, as it can become a bit overwhelming in the heat. Ideal for semi-formal events.

  • I love its scent. On the opening, I notice the jasmine and the nerolis, then the rest of the notes all over a very clean aquatic base. It is what it evokes for me: cleanliness. Despite wearing it for several hours, it still projects. It has excellent trail and longevity. It is true that depending on the pH and skin of each person, it generates extra nuances, but it always keeps its same base structure. Very curious.

  • Today by Avon (2004): a delight. It comes out super subtly with freesia and then lets itself be enveloped by jasmine and neroli. For me, one of the lightest and most harmonious nerolis; nothing of those that become voluptuous and heavy. It is a neroli accord from the 2000s. A composition worthy of its 2005 FiFi award. The aquatic notes add transparency to the refined floral bouquet. I do not notice the rose, but the rest of the flowers, with all due respect (pure marketing). It has a beautiful musky base with a very subtle touch of cedar.

  • Rossadeena

Totally floral; the jasmine is very noticeable. It is in the style of Tous Gold but softer, less penetrating, and fresher. I have just collected Avon perfumes, and although these white florals are not my usual style, I recognise it as a good purchase: elegant, non-invasive, and long-lasting (one spray lasts about 6 hours on the skin, although the projection is low).

  • Delicious! Very marked white floral notes, with incredible persistence on skin and clothes. Ideal for the day and early spring afternoons. I am using it right now and will soon buy another because I know they are going to discontinue it, just as they did with ‘Tomorrow’ from the same line. What a pity, because they are exquisite and their scent remains sounding very current.

  • An Avon delight. Projection, trail, and note longevity are all 10. It is a white floral with character: clean, neat, feminine, and delicate, but with a creamy touch that envelops you and makes you look good. A genuine pleasure for the nose. It breaks the prejudice that catalogue perfumes are inferior; I adore them. At its price and accessibility, it is a gift that never fails. Carpe diem.

  • I bought it recently because I was drawn to the notes; I love florals, neroli, and jasmine. It has good reviews and even won an award. To be honest, I think it has a lot of hype. I was enthusiastic, but I didn’t love it as much as I thought. It’s not that I don’t like it; it smells delicious. However, I’ve already smelled it; I have a Miniso perfume called Charming Jasmine that smells suuuper similar to Today. It sounds like a slightly less sophisticated copy (it’s pure jasmine) but very similar at a lower price, around 60MXN, with less longevity. P.S. It would be cool if Miniso fragrances were in your database; they are accessible and well-made, in my opinion at least.

  • One of my favourites, without a doubt. The blend of jasmine, freesia, and that green touch, which must be the cactus, makes it unique, fresh yet intense, ultra-feminine. Suitable for all hours and throughout the year.

  • LuxemFerre

I LOVE IT! It brings me so many childhood memories. My mother is a perfume fanatic and passed on her love for white flowers and aquatic scents to me. I remember the first time I smelled Today in a magazine; it flooded me with nostalgia because my mother wore it when she launched. I bought it once and have never stopped. This perfume is my signature scent; if I had to define myself in an aroma, I would say Today by Avon is definitely me. I love it too much.

  • What have they done to Today? The new reformulation is a disaster. It doesn’t project even after five minutes and you can’t smell it anymore. What a pity, a perfume that always projected and received compliments, lasting on the skin and days on clothes. Another disappointment.

  • Today is a blatant clone of Armani’s My Way. How? Today was released in 2004, while My Way came out in 2020. It’s not a novelty; it’s that sharp neroli I remember from the 80s, perhaps an Avon body mist, those that mark the memory. If asked if I would buy My Way, the answer is no; I won’t pay for something that smells of so many things, just a little more intense. Conversely, I would buy Today to have the fragrance; it lasts well and isn’t expensive. Watch out for who composed Today; that’s when I understood why Avon had quality and style like that.

  • This perfume reminds me of my mum and an English teacher who used to leave her scent in the room; it’s very rich. I feel it smells like a lady, but with class and elegance. I wear it when I want to project a formal image. I love it for winter; at other times of the year, it overwhelms me a lot, but it’s a brilliant fragrance.

  • Have they reformulated it? It’s totally different from the original. It was my favourite, but it coincided with a love affair I wanted to get over, so I moved away from things that reminded me of the past. My sister bought one and to my surprise, it’s not the same. Before, it was a potent bomb of white flowers; now, as my mother says, it’s washed out. The woody note appears quickly. It’s not ugly, but for those of us who loved the original version, it’s pointless.

  • Benjamin Alamo - 1389

It’s the scent of one of my mother’s friends; she always wears it. At first, it seemed like a mystery: a bouquet of orange blossom with the creaminess of neroli, slightly sweet. It doesn’t have a good trail, but when you come close for a hug or a kiss, there it is.

  • AylenAlfonso19

Pure jasmine and woods, it’s exquisite. The projection is brutal for the first two hours, then it drops to a more personal enjoyment. After about 8 hours, I can only smell it on the skin. For the price, it’s excellent.

  • I bought it to support a friend’s garage sale and I was impressed. I love the scent of neroli with freesia and orange blossom. It’s floral yet fresh and woody. It’s not heavy; it has an amber and animalic touch. It smells vintage but more wearable. I loved it and I’m going to try the others in the line. For me, it lasts all year round as I prefer strong scents.

  • PaulyPoly

As someone else mentioned below, it smells very much like My Way. I own both and if they are similar, Today is my favourite from Avon. It’s fresh, floral and a delight. It lasts about 6 to 8 hours. You don’t need to spend a fortune to get quality, you just have to look in the right places.

  • At first, it gave me a headache; it was very strong. I tried it again years later and I’m not sure if it’s softer or my sense of smell has changed, but now I like it. I wouldn’t wear it daily, only when going out. It’s very feminine with jasmines and light neroli.

  • It’s another perfume, but my mum gave it to me years ago and it smells like her. It’s lovely, original and incredibly long-lasting. It reminds me of spring with fresh flowers. I’d wear it more in the evening or when going out as it lasts so long.
