I didn’t pick up on the absinthe note, but I did detect the patchouli with spicy (pepper) and green (basil) undertones, finishing with benzoin and those resinous impressions, nothing too dense. It’s a heavier fragrance for winter or autumn; it feels young, yet I found it somewhat lacking in complexity for my taste, a bit flat for what I expect from a spiced oriental. Good longevity and moderate sillage.

I didn’t catch the absinthe note either, but rather the patchouli with spices (paprika) and greens (basil), closing with a resinous yet light benzoin. It sounds more like a winter or autumn scent, although for my taste it lacks complexity and feels a little flat for a spiced oriental. Longevity is good and the trail is moderate.

  • I never say this film is bad, I just say it didn’t suit me. I never say this fragrance is bad, only that it’s not for me. I tried it, left, came back later, and bought it convinced. A few days later I started wearing it, nothing on my skin, it seemed like water, several applications and still nothing; luckily they exchanged it for me. It simply didn’t work on my skin, only on my skin. Good review from my friend priethcallas, and I appreciate his concept. My warmest regards, from Argentina.

  • I’ll start by saying that straight from the bottle it smells similar to Givenchy’s Xeryus Rouge because I could detect the sweet paprika, and that scent feels so sexy and rounded in any perfume. However, once I applied it, I noticed a strong alcohol smell that dissipated after a minute, leaving a versatile, spicy, fresh scent with an intense character that really stands out. Shortly after, Heat by Beyoncé came to mind, so it has a feminine touch without losing its masculinity, which I like… It’s a daily, dynamic fragrance for a young audience, smelling like a clean, fresh deodorant, designed to please without more. It has a sweet, herbal scent with a balsamic finish, with a pleasant aroma close to vanilla due to the benzoin note. The patchouli gives it that versatile and clean touch, and I like it because it doesn’t overpower the fragrance, keeping it masculine… The advertisement has nothing to do with what’s inside the bottle; it’s not sexually overwhelming, for heaven’s sake! I would have chosen a boy aged 17 to 25 going to university while it’s raining, dressed in a slightly punk style, rushing to catch the bus and flirting with a girl as he boards, kissing her, and that’s it!

Fresh and delicate all at once. Davidoff has a very varied catalogue, with affordable proposals of good quality. Chapeau.

A fresh and delicate fragrance at the same time. Davidoff has a very varied range of proposals in their catalogue, affordable in price and of good quality. Chapeau.

  • I don’t usually gravitate towards oriental fragrances, but this was an exception. Perhaps because my tastes tend towards classic green and woody scents. Hot Water came across as spiced and warm, yet soft, with a green touch that avoids the typical sweetness or heaviness of that genre. That makes it super versatile: it’s not just for evening or formal events, but I wear it to work daily. It might be a gateway for those who aren’t keen on orientals to get closer to the genre without straying from the familiar. Good longevity and price, though I still prefer its flanker, Hot Water Night, much more.

  • I’m not usually a fan of oriental fragrances, but this was an exception. Perhaps my tastes lean more towards classic green and woody scents. I found Hot Water to be spiced and warm, yet soft, with a slightly green edge, lacking the sugary or heavy notes I often associate with orientals. This also makes it more versatile; it’s not exclusively for evening wear or formal events, so it can be used daily, even at work. It might be a way to introduce those who dislike orientals to the genre gently, moving them away from the overused. Good longevity and value for money, although personally, I much prefer its flanker, Hot Water Night.

  • Personally, I see this as a fragrance for young people or those with little demand when it comes to scents. Despite having quality ingredients, everything rests on a base that, in my opinion, feels quite cheap and reminiscent of hygiene products; it’s extremely abstract and bears no resemblance to anything natural. At least it doesn’t smell bad, which is something, and it lasts a few hours while being reasonably priced. The patchouli, absinthe, and basil give it green, fresh nuances, while the paprika adds a warm, spicy counterpoint, but the overall blend lacks impact.

  • Davidoff Hot Water seems an interesting twist on the original concept. As the name suggests, ‘Hot Water’ transforms its casual usage into a more romantic, nocturnal, and spiced profile. It is like a Cool Water suit and tie, ready to take on the night. The first thing that stands out is the pepper: a spicy, warm, and slightly sweet burst that contrasts with the herbal and fresh nuances. It does not reach the heaviness of an oriental, but it is certainly more than a daytime perfume. This spicy-fresh duo offers a versatility that is much appreciated; it is never too much or too little. It fits any situation. The scent is very pleasant and retains its original character. To this, it adds a low price and decent performance. It is an absolute all-rounder, from a humble background, that will take us wherever we wish with its informal and rogue edge. (Tested thanks to Jerry Drake).

I detect the herbal character of the original, but this is far more sensual and conquering, thanks to the spicy kick of paprika and patchouli. I wore it one night at a party years ago and will never forget it: a girl walked past and said ‘uff, you smell wonderful’ without knowing me at all. It is among Davidoff’s best in terms of value for money. It lasts its full eight hours, projecting well for the first four. At this price point, I cannot find any fault; I see it as a night scent, and I will buy it a thousand times over.

‘It lives up to its name ‘Hot’.’ First, I don’t understand why it’s compared so much with Xeryus Rouge. They share slight similarities at times, but each follows its own path. The sweet paprika note is captivating and seductive, blending with the benzoin from the heart to the dry down. It’s extremely seductive, but for intimacy, not for social life. Given its notes, it has versatility in winter; although its strength lies in romance, it garners compliments in the office. That said, its longevity and projection are scarce (like most Davidoff scents), and, unfortunately, on my skin they last less than average. Scent: 8 / Quality: 6 / Longevity: 5 / Projection: 5 / Versatility: 7

It lives up to its name ‘Hot’. First, I’m not sure why it’s so often compared to Xeryus Rouge; they share slight similarities but each follows its own path. The sweet paprika note is captivating and seductive, blending seamlessly with the benzoin from the heart notes to the dry down. It is an extremely seductive fragrance, though more suited for intimacy than social outings. Given its notes, it offers winter versatility; although its strength lies in romance, it still earns compliments in the office. However, its longevity and projection are scarce (as with most Davidoff scents), and, to my misfortune, it lasts less on my skin than the average. Scent: 8, Quality: 6, Longevity: 5, Projection: 5, Versatility: 7.

  • Personally, Hot by Davidoff didn’t win me over. Beyond lasting a short while on my skin (it feels like it fades quickly), it’s not a particularly complex fragrance in terms of quality, though that doesn’t stop it from being original. It is certainly worth trying, and I have no regrets about using up the entire bottle. I must say, it’s the one that has received the most comments from girls. Can you imagine sweat with a good smell? If such a thing existed, it would be Hot Water by Davidoff.

  • Hot Water by Davidoff is a very ordinary fragrance with no surprises. It opens strongly with absinthe and basil, but its projection fades within fifteen minutes and it lasts about four hours before disappearing. It’s pleasant, yet due to its lack of projection and longevity, it remains just another run-of-the-mill scent. Perfect for the office: it doesn’t overpower or bother anyone, fulfils its four-hour mission, and is ideal for daytime wear. I wouldn’t use it at night or for dates, and in formal settings it’s unnecessary as it doesn’t make an impact. In short, a bland fragrance that doesn’t bother anyone, perfect for the office and keeps you scented for four hours. Cheers.
