Loewe 7 Plata, from the house of Loewe, is an aromatic fougère fragrance launched in 2019. For men, this composition features an olfactive pyramid that begins with top notes of mint and Italian mandarin; the heart reveals ginger and pink pepper; and the base settles on incense, musk, and amber. The fragrance was created by the perfumer.

  • Walking through the shopping centre, the girl at the counter told me that the 7 Silver had arrived. I tried it all afternoon and I like it. It is not exceptional or new, but it is good. It is a greener, spicier, and more metallic incense than the previous ones. It is fresh and herbaceous with a sharp metallic touch that I have liked. The spices are more natural and raw, fresh, and the incense is more crystalline and herbaceous. The performance is not a bomb, but it lasts hours on the skin with moderate projection. The price seems high for what it is, but as it is a novelty, I hope for a sale. If I do not find one, it does not matter.

I’ve made my first contact with Loewe 7 Plata and its nose is Emilio Valeros. It seems masculine, intimate, and powerful. In the opening, Moroccan Nanah mint and Italian tangerine stand out, fading towards a spiced heart of red pepper, ginger, and incense that add personality and character. In the base, dry amber and musk, cold and metallic notes that give an energetic and intimate sensation. Tomorrow will be the second test.

  • I’m a fanatic of the Loewe 7 line (and also the Solo). All its creations are masterpieces, but this version has horrified me quite a bit, all because of the opening. For me, it’s nauseating; it smells like green curry; I haven’t caught the mint, but spices that drive me crazy and I couldn’t stand it. The rest smells quite good and the dry-down is similar to the Natural, so I prefer the Sport or the Natural much more than this Indonesian spice hit that doesn’t let you enjoy the perfume. I think there are undeclared spices; I don’t believe that strong smell is just incense and pepper.

The 7 Silver has nothing to do with its spiced siblings; it is pure citrus fruit. It arrived to replace the discontinued Sport. On first spray, it smells of cucumber and greens, then evolves on the skin, accentuating Moroccan mint with metallic notes. It is very unconventional and takes a little getting used to.

  • Taking a walk in the shopping centre this afternoon, I asked the girl at the counter (who already knows me) if there were any novelties. She said that Loewe 7 Plata had just arrived, and after trying it during the afternoon, I must say I like it. It’s not exceptional or new, but I like it. Loewe 7 Plata is a greener, spicier, and more metallic incense than its predecessors: fresh and herbaceous, with a very sharp metallic touch of incense that I liked. I feel the spices more natural and raw, less sharp but very fresh; the incense of its predecessors is there, but more crystalline and herbaceous, which I loved. In performance, it’s not a bomb, but it stays good hours on skin with moderate projection tending to low. The price seemed high for what it is, but as it’s a novelty, it will drop. As I haven’t loved it enough to buy it now, I’ll wait for a good offer, if I find one; if not, it doesn’t matter.

I wish I had the luck of @ivan80 with those gifts, but I paid €69.95 for the 100ml of Loewe 7 Plata. I’ve been wearing it for three and a half days, and although it’s high-end, the ingredients smell top quality. It’s a transition moment: Emilio Valeros is handing over the baton to Nuria Cruelles, whose new things are coming later… Without a doubt, it’s the freshest 7 in the range, ideal for the heat that’s coming. The Natural smells like a refreshing drink, the original like midnight mass in the cathedral, and the Anónimo remains beautiful but dark. The mint at the start is a breath of fresh air that renews everything, and having tangerines accompany it is a detail to be appreciated. Then comes the magic: a box of metallic spices with masculine ginger that floods without shame. The incense is there, but fresh, not liturgical or esoteric; it tends to the oriental but isn’t an oriental. It’s a wise combination where the notes jump and play without touching the ground, flying through cold, gaseous heights but with earthly heat. Loewe takes a step into the future, offering new expectation without losing quality or prestige. Praise comes even in difficult places like the Valencia Central Market, with envious looks. My best summer nights in years. To say it’s a success is little: longevity and trail are brutal. PS: The opening is spectacular and delicious. It doesn’t smell like curry or cucumber, hee hee. This toilette, not cologne, has trail and duration that its predecessors don’t envy, but it emits a light they didn’t have. For me, a very successful flanker and one of the best in 2019.

  • I loved it! The bottle fits the scent perfectly. The opening does not help: it is metallic, aggressive, rough, and potent. I like it because it is mentholated and citrusy, smelling of effervescent ginger with orange and fresh herbs. Highly recommended, do not let the strange opening put you off; it takes you out of your comfort zone. I bought it without doubt because of its rarity. The longevity is very poor, and the trail and projection are low. Good quality but the price is too high for the longevity. The advantage is that I have not heard it on anyone else.

  • I loved it. The bottle matches what it smells like perfectly. The opening isn’t helpful: a strong, aggressive, rough, potent, and shapeless metal. I like it because it’s minty and citrusy, smelling delicious of ginger and fresh herbs, an effervescent ginger with orange. Highly recommended and don’t let the opening put you off; although it’s strong, rough, and unusual, it takes you out of your comfort zone. I bought it without a doubt because of its rarity. Longevity: very poor, trail is medium-low, and projection is limited. Good quality but the price is excessive for the duration and trail. The advantage is that I haven’t heard it on anyone else.

  • I don’t like it, it’s acceptable, and I like it… I’ve gone through these three phases. The opening makes me feel sick and reject it (I don’t understand why). After an hour, it becomes usable and a timid incense appears, in the style of 7 Loewe Natural, bathed in almost caramelised tangerine. In this phase, it’s acceptable. What I love is from the two-hour mark onwards: everything is more aromatic, in the style of 7 Loewe but subtle and relaxed. The trail is moderate, rather soft. It’s more of an intimate fragrance than one to impress. As for longevity, it doesn’t last more than eight hours before it smells of nothing. Personally, it’s not memorable or noteworthy within the house. I think the price is excessive and there are many better options in the same line. 7 Loewe Anónimo remains the best flanker for me.

  • Morenower

I bought it blindly. Being new, I expected it to be like the original with a different touch, but it doesn’t convince me. It stays sweet and spiced all the time, something I don’t like. I wanted incense but I barely notice it. It doesn’t last long and leaves no trail unless you spray at least six times. If I can, I’ll resell it and go for the original. But it’s my opinion; everyone is different, and being a Loewe, I’m sure experts appreciate it more than I do.

  • I tried it and it disappoints a lot. It smells like just Loewe but with a cloying mint. The projection failed: they try to fake the boom of Paco Rabanne’s One Million or Carolina Herrera’s 212 VIP, but without delivering any of that. It’s not a modern perfume; it’s a background classic. I don’t like it. The first time Loewe has disappointed me.

  • Black Friday gave me the perfect excuse to visit my usual perfumerie. I had my eye on the Loewe 7 Anónimo, the older sibling, but with a €20 discount, I grabbed this 7 Plata Colonia instead. The assistant, kind and smiling, gifted me samples of Nikos Sculpture and a nice little box of the Plata Colonia samples. I tried everything at home. My verdict: it’s the ‘summer’ version of the 7s, but not for the beach. It smells fresher than the others, though it keeps that DNA, perhaps because it’s not as heavy as its sisters. It opens citrusy with tangerine, followed by ginger that lasts until the end with that typical incense touch. Everything is well-made and of high quality. Loewe always guarantees quality, even if it’s pricey. They are classics but very wearable for young people, with elegance. It has convinced me; who knows if another Black Friday will bring me another one.

  • Undoubtedly one of the best from Loewe for me, let’s go! An absolutely pastoral opening; I say this because? It reminds me of rosemary as you find it planted on the ground with a strong metallic touch, wild, floods your nose and takes away even the oxygen; fortunately, this opening doesn’t go beyond 5 minutes, where immediately afterwards it starts to smell like a wonderful, acidic, and tasty citrus with that much more subtle metallic touch, which makes it a fresh, pleasant fragrance where people look at you as if to say, this ca___n smells different, it’s not the typical one the most commercial people use. The trail is long and deep after easy 2-3 hours, which from those hours leaves a soft, elegant citrus trace and if, for example, as happened to me, you wear it in summer at an outdoor wedding, you easily get 8 hours of duration where you still smell yourself easily and where, no matter how many perfumed people you have around, Loewe 7 Silver laughs at them all.

  • I’m not going to delve into technical matters about each element conjugated in this beautiful fragrance. I just say that it’s the first fragrance where I fully feel each of the (7) notes that make it up. A trail and longevity worthy of respect to be an eau de toilette (perhaps I was just used to the edt from big brands) and it lasts several days on hard clothes just like its brother, Anónimo. I love 7 Anónimo but 7 Silver exceeded my expectations with its beautiful herbal opening, the mix with ginger and a very satisfying tangerine aroma. I bought it thinking to use it as an everyday, although I liked it so much I’ll treasure it for special moments and let other reformulated fragrances I have take its place.

Thinking there’s little liquid left since 2019, I’ve acquired a new bottle for the heat of 2020. The price hasn’t dropped much :(. I enjoy it greatly on summer evenings (the rest of the year too). Fresh, metallic, magical; it opens with an uncommon mint (Naha from Morocco) and Sicilian tangerines are incorporated. It’s a leitmotif that will always be there. A notable red pepper joins along with Indian ginger. Of course incense, otherwise it wouldn’t be a LOEWE 7; in this case, it’s from Somalia and is perceived fresh and fine. A dry amber with musk closes this composition with a good bow. From experience, I’ve noticed that people of different ethnicities value it highly. And my fellow citizens find it sexy. Certainly, it’s a mix of notes coming from very different places, feeling natural in a very high-end toilet. Neither disgusts me LOEWE 7 nor Anónimo, only that this is my 7 and my incense. For me, bottled magic, and an option to LOEWE 7 much more human and accessible for the senses. Shame that this Loewe 7 Silver has been discontinued.

  • I don’t want to elaborate too much (I already did in the review of the classic 7); I just say that this alternative seems much more versatile and easier for others to enjoy. Although I don’t think that makes it better (at least in personal taste). It is, to put it some way, the most suitable incense fragrance for warm climates. It feels fresh and as radiant as its packaging. The tangerine and mint give it an ideal stance for those days when you fancy wearing a light-coloured rolled-up shirt and going for walks under the sun. As for longevity and projection, it fulfils enough to be perfumed from breakfast until dinner and be perceived by those sharing the meal, without being intrusive. Truth be told, a real hit from Loewe. Although personally it doesn’t blow my mind, as the original 7 does with its dark and spiritual incense.

Oh, I absolutely loved it. I was running errands and randomly picked this Loewe 7 Silver, as I haven’t been waiting around for anything from commercial perfumery in ages. I was completely predisposed and full of malice, expecting it to be a horror. I like the original, but it’s the typical perfume I can’t stand to wear; that obvious apple note gives me the creeps. I laugh when the air gifts me a whiff of that fruity incense, but if I’m the one emitting it, I can’t stop regretting it because I feel the apple ruins it. It’s a perfume with a love/hate relationship; sometimes I adore it, other times I detest it for being artificial, which isn’t rare with Loewe. My experience with this line ended with Anónimo; I liked it but it wasn’t for me, finding it too serious and slightly unpleasant, plus at one point it smelled like drunk ants with penicillin. So the surprise with this Silver was pleasant. Overcoming the fact that the bottle horrifies me (it looks very cheap in hand), I found a category fragrance, sweet waters, which I love; a sporty, metallic, comfortable scent, a sweet green, herbal, and relaxing vibe. The first blast is hideous; I don’t know if I’m smelling a type of cecal mixed with aluminium and fried herbs; it’s truly unpleasant. Plus, it has a vaporous consistency like super-synthetic formaldehyde, strange, with a taste of exposure to Sky upholstery and dry brambles. Fortunately, it lasts very little, and what settles is nothing more or less than the smell of old-fashioned shaving foam, specifically Lea foam. That mint that’s neither expectorant nor mentholated, simply smells of sweet grass, shaving brushes, and nineties barbershops. Here it is in perfume form. I truly appreciate that the mint, a tricky note, doesn’t smell like chewing gum or mojito, which sometimes happens, or worse, like rubber or a condom. Here it simply shines as shaving foam, and yes, at some point tangerine and ginger enter and things can become a bit cloying, like one of those Italian citrus and basil sorbets. The next phase is wonderful; masculine soap and sweetness join the incense, the one that unifies the 7 line. And jeez, how well it fits the overall tone. If it was already a tempered perfume leaning cold, now it becomes gloomy, serene, like a cloister sheltered from the heat. And the best part is that at no point do you feel like you’re wearing a friar’s habit, as happens with other too-literal incenses. No, you visualise yourself in a white t-shirt and chino trousers, cleaner than the golden showers, freshly bathed with a touch of dry masculine incense to finish. I love it. Do you know that popular plant in Spain simply called ‘the incense plant’? A bush with green leaves and a white edge? Well, the one in this Loewe 7 Silver smells like that; it has no memories of ecclesiastical or liturgical incense, nor is it as creamy or soft to the olfactory senses as frankincense. No, this is a soft, divine green incense, powdery, just like running your fingers through one of those bushes or a fern and smelling your hand. Not much evolution beyond that; eventually, the cloying tangerine taste disappears, and the final result is a herbal, metallic, soft citrus shaving foam with a refreshing incense side very nicely done. It’s not listed but there’s surely plenty of white musk. It seemed easy to wear, very defensible, and I think it’s a candidate for regular use due to its simplicity and comfort. Plus, the longevity isn’t bad. The only downside is that for the first half-hour it smells synthetic, plastic, and artificial. I don’t rule out buying a bottle.

  • Espartaco

What a surprise! I bought it by chance without much desire and I loved it. The original makes me gag due to the apple, but this one is different. I have an on-again, off-again relationship with Loewe, but this one I have liked. The bottle looks cheap, but the scent is a sweet, green, and relaxing water. The opening is ugly, like cucumber with aluminium and fried herbs, synthetic and like dried brambles. Fortunately, it lasts a short while and then smells like Lea shaving foam, sweet mint, and 1990s barbershop. It does not smell like chewing gum or a condom. Then comes the tangerine and ginger, slightly cloying like an Italian sorbet, but afterwards the incense and masculine soap unify everything. It smells of divine green incense, dusty, like running your fingers through a bush. In the end, it is shaving foam with herbs, metals, and citrus. It surely contains a lot of white musk. It is easy to wear, defensible, and has good longevity. The only downside is that at first it smells very artificial. I would buy it again.

  • Fragancefran

What a delightful surprise. I loved it. The opening is a little unusual, but after two minutes, you have a spectacular aroma of high-quality vintage soap. It is a green, fresh, and quite addictive scent. I notice the incense a little less strongly than in the original 7 and the 7 Anonyme. Loewe always getting closer to niche aromas.

  • Fragancefran

What a pleasant surprise! I loved it. The opening is strange, but after two minutes it smells like a high-quality vintage soap. It is green, fresh, and addictive. The incense is less strong than in the original 7 or the Anonyme. Loewe gets very close to niche perfumes.

  • Mah. There are perfumes with unusual notes and particular chords that make them original but, in some cases, difficult. The reviews sparked my curiosity, but Loewe 7 Plata feels to me like a very strange aquatic incense, a mix of disinfectants and cleaners with a metallic and sharp base, clearly acidic. Incredibly piercing, yet not interesting for me; as soon as I sprayed it, I wanted to rush to wash my hands. The opening was so acute and unpleasant. A slap of Martian ginger and mint rounded off with things clandestinely plucked from a chemistry class. Initially, it opens with a spicy woody accord before turning into a dusty, synthetic potion with a futuristic incense, neither oriental nor ecclesiastical. A perfume that wraps me in a disturbing, almost oppressive atmosphere. It hasn’t been to my liking; it has faded in intensity but I still have a strange sensation. In my case, there is no feeling.

  • The first spray is an impactful experiment, almost like insecticide or phenols mixed without sense. You feel a metallic cold on living materials. It is a perfumed robot. Far from fleeing the initial hit, I seek it out hypnotised on my shirt. This combination must be a milestone. I am not a fan of the 7 line due to the incense, but this is the best proposal for me. The incensed note is intense but flat, well mixed with a clean musk. I do not detect amber, but I need it to balance the rough tone that tires me in the others. Worth trying. A different, daring, and unexpected proposal from Loewe.

  • A citrus aroma, but I detected a floral note that isn’t listed. On clean skin, it leaves a smoky base with a barely perceptible peppery touch, giving it a subtly dark and masculine tone. The mint is noticeable at the start.

  • The first spray is worthy of a Walter Wise experiment. Impactful and narcotic, it makes you think of insecticide or rat poison. Imagine a test tube with phenols and phenolics mixed without conscience. This daring blend of citrus, ginger, and mint leaves no one indifferent and makes you notice the metallic shine of the bottle. A perfumed robot from reality. Far from wanting to run away, I feel the need to keep it close, hypnotised between the folds of my shirt. The forty-five minutes it lasts should go down in history as a milestone. Not being a fan of the marked incense tone of the Line 7, this Plata is the best proposal for my taste. The note appears intense and flat, without being overwhelming, blended with a musk that nuances its cleanliness. I don’t detect the amber note, and as the only drawback, I miss its contribution to measure the rough incense tone that tires me in previous flankers. A perfume worth trying. A different, daring, and unexpected proposal from Loewe.

  • Fragancefran

Pure niche perfume. The scent is unusual and distinct, yet I absolutely adored it. The combination of spicy ginger and mint with that ecclesiastical incense is spectacular. Longevity and projection are well above average.

  • Great quality like all the Loewe 7s. A fresh ginger that becomes sexy thanks to pink pepper and the mystery of the incense that characterises the line. I’m going for my second bottle, which luckily I got with the old bottle, those that people say are the good ones.

  • One of my favourites for special occasions. It has prominent minty citrus touches and a charming infusion of musk and incense. However, it’s very focused on a niche buyer due to certain accords that don’t please everyone. Ideal for hot days and autumn. A detail is the packaging: elegant, distinguished and with a novel design that highlights the silver. A select perfume for gatherings, especially if you want to stand out for its peculiar aroma. The price is appropriate and represents the classic fougères. The longevity on my experience was 6 to 8 hours with excellent projection. It brings a unique proposal of authenticity, reclaiming the prime value of Loewe in innovation.

  • A very rich fragrance, sweet ginger and not spicy. It becomes more apparent after drying down and is liked for being somewhat different.

  • I just bought it and had doubts after trying the original Loewe 7 which I didn’t like at all, and after the fiasco with Solo Mercurio I already had my fears raised. But it has pleasantly surprised me: that mandarin with mint and ginger makes it lovely. I notice a slight touch of amber, though I can’t distinguish the incense. The strongest note is the mandarin, more the peel than the fruit. We’ll test the performance, though it seems light and for warm climates, but that’s what decants are for. Very happy.

  • I agree with everyone: the opening is repulsive. I think it’s the ginger, sometimes too much, with the force of varnish and a sweet nuance at the start that confuses. When it dries, it leaves a bitter, freshly cut green note, faithful to scents like green tea or mint marjoram. What does mint infusion smell like? Not like toothpaste, but something heavier, of this world. It doesn’t smell like a white sphere, but like cutting plant anatomy with its veins. The combination with incense is beautiful; among the bitterness of chewing grass, the resin shines in its sweetness. That term for incense, ‘sweet smell’, was only thought by an inhabitant of antiquity, but it’s true. There were no sweet things around the corner; you had to seek them in unexpected places, like Japan, which had to sweeten its pastries with red beans because honey arrived late.

  • If you like Loewe 7, this is a must-have. It adds an interesting twist: same family but with its own personality. For me, the ideal citrus for summer nights. The ginger gives a sparkling freshness, almost electric, mixed with a very integrated mint. A top variant, with all due respect to Cobalt which remains my favourite flanker.

  • Brandon Fougere

Loewe 7 PLATA is one of my favourites, those ‘addictive’ rich scents in my collection. It opens with a sharp citrus burst that dries down to become aromatic, herbal and mentholated: cool and acidic. Its blessed thiol gives that synthetic yet rich metallic touch, combined with ginger that lasts all day. Informal without reaching Bulgari levels, perfect for dressing austere but smelling like a clean man and turning heads. Advice: use few sprays, not just because it can be corrosive to the skin, but because at first it may make you and others dizzy.

  • Yupoff1967

At first, it smells odd – a mint and ginger blend you have to endure – but within minutes the mandarin overpowers it and the scent becomes spectacular. It lasts 10 hours on my skin with constant sillage. Not a blind buy, but for me it’s a must. Another gem from Loewe, but 👏👏👏
