Solo Loewe Ella by Loewe

I had other expectations, thinking of something citrusy and clean, but it’s more floral and fruity. It’s not bad: initially, the peach and pear explode (I detected a hint of passionfruit, even though it’s not listed), followed by orange blossom and jasmine. After three hours, it becomes almost invisible, so you need to reapply if you’re at work or attending an event. I’ll keep it in my collection, but I wouldn’t order it again; I’ll try other Loewe fragrances that appeal to me more.

It’s a citrus scent at first that dries down to something floral and fruity. I find it subtle and elegant, ideal for warm climates; it’s vibrant and cheerful. The trail isn’t very long and the longevity is moderate, around 4 or 5 hours on my skin. The base woods give it depth without weighing it down or making it seem masculine. It sounds unisex to me.

BoUGHT this blind-buy based on the notes and its reputation among experts. I wear it mostly in autumn, perhaps because that exquisite fruity sweetness can sometimes feel suffocating in enclosed spaces. It’s elegant, intense, and lasts for ages; the notes blend perfectly, transitioning from fruity to a floral phase with an amber elegance. It’s the older sibling of Boucheron’s Quatre, which I own and prefer for spring and summer. I adore it, but I won’t be buying it again due to the reformulation in the elongated bottle and its scarcity here. I’ll enjoy every last drop.

I’ve used several bottles of Solo Ella, a scent that doesn’t seem to have been a huge hit for Loewe, though I might be mistaken. It feels expensive for what it is: a simple, shampoo-like scent in a rather plain bottle. Yet, since I absolutely love it and it’s rare for a perfume to do so, I’ve paid its high price religiously, albeit with some pain. Now I have a small vial of the original for special occasions and a well-crafted equivalent from Aromas Artesanales called Benisa for everyday wear. It’s been a relief to find it; of all the perfumes I own, this is the one that has received the most positive feedback, loved by many. Personally, I’ve never found an occasion where it doesn’t fit: it has freshness for feeling relaxed and clean in casual settings even in heat, but also body and sweetness for formal, elegant situations in the cold. Initially, I made the mistake of over-spraying because I thought it didn’t last and had a poor sillage, but it’s true that when my nose can no longer detect it, someone always says it smells wonderful, even hours later, so I’ve become more moderate now. It’s a shame they changed the bottle; the old one was a thousand times prettier, and such things help avoid buying equivalents (ask Mugler about his beautiful Angel de cristal by Lalique, which makes the moment of applying perfume magical). Regarding the Solo Ella advert, whose name has appeal as a direct adaptation of Solo for Men, it was a bit dull: I barely remember it being in black and white and passing by without much fuss. So, with the marketing blunders they’ve made, it’s a miracle it still sells, or rather: all the credit goes to the perfume itself, which is a love.

Do you know Anian green fabric softener? Well, this is that made into perfume. It’s a more feminine twist on Earth, with poorer longevity but tremendously pleasant, fruity, and floral. Moderate projection for three hours, then skin scent for a maximum of another three. Another of those gifts where you surely can’t go wrong. This one is definitely worth it for the price, but if it’s part of a gift set, 93€ for a case with a 100ml bottle and two 10ml samples each, whereas buying it separately costs 97€ for 100ml.

An exquisite and addictive fragrance that surprised me for its cheerful, vibrant character rather than originality. It boils down to bitter orange, jasmine, and amber. The woods aren’t the stars, making it an excellent all-year option, although it might not shine as much in winter.

I discovered it by chance at a sample station and think it’s perfect for spring and summer, though it works year-round as a wildcard. Very fruity but not childish. I feel elegant and clean wearing it, and I reapply during the day because the scent fades to the point where others can’t detect it, but I don’t mind carrying a decant in my bag. I hope to always have it, even in a small size, once I’ve used up the 50 ml bottle.

I think this is my first Loewe perfume and I’ve really liked it. It’s soft, simple, fruity, and very versatile. I see it as perfect for everyday wear, any season, and even formal dinners or celebrations because it doesn’t clash anywhere. It can be bought blind without hesitation. Although it doesn’t seem like much, it’s very wearable, non-invasive, not suffocating, and not heavy.

It smells like shampoo, the kind I say… it smells like perfume, nothing special. It’s noticeable for the first few hours, doesn’t smell bad, but for lower prices there are much more interesting options. The initial burst is a bit alcoholic, then it smells like freshly washed hair, but nothing else.

It’s a very feminine, floral-fruity perfume, although on my skin the floral notes stand out more. I think it could please everyone; it has good longevity and projection. Sometimes I stop noticing it and think it’s vanished, but people around me do notice. It gets many compliments and makes people turn to look; some even say you smell good or ask what perfume you’re wearing. It works well for work, formal events, and casual outings. I’ve loved this as much as its EDT, which is beautiful. If you’re into sweet perfumes, you might prefer the EDT over the EDP. It’s worth having both; they are of great quality.

A friend recommended this scent to me, and after checking the notes, I noticed it shares six with Moschino’s Funny. Does anyone know if they are similar or from the same family?

Orange is my favourite note, and it works brilliantly on my skin here. It’s cheerful and comforting, with a sophisticated and relaxing touch in the dry-down. The trail is moderate, the longevity is good, and it lingers noticeably on clothes. Very enjoyable.

At first, the orange and apple are very prominent; as it dries down, neroli, jasmine, and above all, the tea emerge, accompanying me all day. It’s not as sweet as the EDT version. On my skin, it lasts a long time—I can apply it in the morning and it lasts until night. The trail is intimate but noticeable all day. Suitable for any season, though its best times are spring and summer.

Shower, perfume, and intimate moments. Days later, he says: ‘I remember your perfume’. It’s an eau de toilette, so two or three sprays are enough. It’s feminine, current, and long-lasting.

The most versatile perfume that exists. Intense floral with a touch of sweet peach, very pleasant and easy to like, yet nothing simplistic; you can tell it’s refined. When I don’t know what to wear, I reach for it and never go wrong: it suits any season, situation, and outfit. It’s amusing that it’s called Solo, because if I had to choose one perfume that goes well with everything, it would be this one. It’s luminous, chameleon-like, and very feminine.
