Michael Kors Pour Homme by Michael Kors is an aromatic aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2024, this olfactive composition was created by perfumer Jordi Fernández. Its opening features bergamot, lavender and pink pepper, delivering a fresh and vibrant start. The heart reveals a marine harmony with sea water, geranium and sage, while the base settles on a warm, earthy accord of ambergris, vetiver and patchouli.

When I was told Michael Kors was preparing his first male launch, I could have imagined anything less than this trip to the 90s. Lavender, marine, sage, vetiver… His retro vocation is evident. Only the pine is missing. Michael Kors Pour Homme has the same relaxed and unshakeably pleasant impression as many perfumes from the turn of the century, which left the aquatics for balanced and harmless chords. It’s not zen or sporty like Polo Blue. Upon pressing the trigger, you receive a classic accord of bergamot and lavender, neat, almost ozonic, fresh for any day and masculine enough to feel you’re wearing more than comfort. It’s not just clean. It projects formality and its fixative is notable, above average. Despite its merits, it costs as much as a Chanel. But in the end, it turns out to be distinctive.
Look, when I heard MK was returning to men’s fragrances, I didn’t expect a trip back to the 90s with lavender, sea, sage and vetiver. It sounds retro, but it lacks that pine note. It smells relaxed and pleasant, like 2000s fragrances that swapped the aquatic vibe for something more balanced. It’s not a zen scent nor a boring sporty type like Polo Blue. Upon spraying, it’s a classic bergamot and lavender, very clean and almost ozonic, fresh enough for all year round with sufficient masculinity to feel you’re wearing more than just a comfortable smell. It’s not just clean; it projects formality and lasts longer than usual on the skin. Although it costs the same as a Chanel, at least it smells different from what you’ll find in any high street shop.
Where do I start? I like reviewing hidden gems, but with this… I’m sorry, I expected more. It costs 90 euros and is the first male launch from a house I respect for its female creations. It’s not worth it. You’ve heard this before, 100% classic; the originality is bringing a vintage scent to 2024 in a Bleu style, but with super recognisable combinations. Either turn it around to surprise or put top quality to justify the price. Neither. Reminiscent of Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren, not the original, but later reformulations where only the ambergris sets it apart slightly. No, this isn’t what I expected from a Kors. Does it smell bad? No! But it’s not a 90-euro perfume, no matter how original and heavy its bottle is. You can do better. Perhaps making an aquatic one didn’t help with this return. Cheers! Hard to defend. I was gifted a sample and it didn’t disgust me. Clean and elegant aroma, well-orchestrated fresh entry of bergamot and lavender. Development with floral tones and evident sage. The marine notes add a cheerful touch, a mark of distinction without being excessive. Vetiver base done well, masculine character. Patchouli and ambergris as foundations. Very versatile in age, formality, and season (with sun, it’s a hit). Pleasant? Yes, but without originality. Decent duration and projection, not excellent in enclosed spaces. Two drawbacks: it might not convince younger people due to 90s reminiscences and limits attention; and the price, it’s not worth it, better options are easily found. Pleasant but expensive for what it offers.
Too many notes in common with classics. Bergamot, vetiver, lavender, patchouli, not striking. On my skin, it’s dry and unpleasant. Test before buying.
Michael Kors Pour Homme promises a lot on the bottle but disappoints when you wear it. From the first spray, I felt let down. The opening with bergamot and lavender tries to be fresh, but ends up synthetic and unrefined. Instead of evolving well, the notes blend into a confusing mess. The heart with anise and pepper comes across as flat and predictable, failing to stand out. The base with sandalwood and incense should have added depth, but it feels dull and generic. For a fragrance marketed as elegant and masculine, it has neither character nor distinction. The longevity is mediocre, lasting barely 4-5 hours, and the projection is weak. For around 70-100 euros, I expected much more; it doesn’t justify the investment. It’s not memorable, so if you’re looking for class or to stand out, look elsewhere.
Promises a lot in the presentation but falls short in the real experience. From the first use, a disappointment. Opening of bergamot and synthetic, unrefined lavender. Confused blend with no evolution. Aromatic heart with anise and pepper, flat and predictable. Nothing stands out. The sandalwood and incense base feels dull and generic. No character or distinction. Mediocre performance, 4-5 hours on skin, weak projection. For 70-100 euros, it doesn’t justify the investment. It’s not memorable; look elsewhere for something classy.
It’s aromatic, spicy, and slightly ambered. The opening is fruity and spicy with an aquatic tone, reminiscent of Coach. The base is patchouli and amber. It’s not complex, easy to like. Casual use: school, work, friends. Harmless. On me, it lasted almost 7 hours, but with little trail, almost skin scent. Easy to wear for those not seeking unique aromas. It doesn’t excite me because I already have others of that style that I like more.
Michael Kors Homme is good, but disappointing. I bought it blind and haven’t used it much because it’s so simple. It’s a good blind buy, one of the simplest I’ve tried. I give it a 7/10.
If you know the classic Michael Kors scents and try this, you might cry. I was excited to see it, but my disappointment was immense the moment I sprayed it. I waited for a miracle in its development, but it was in vain. I don’t know how long it lasts because I rushed to wash it off. It’s not just bland; it arrives twelve years too late to the Invictus wave, which are already tedious. If they had kept the others, it would at least be forgivable, but it remains the only male reference. This brand is going into the box of the disappeared. Au revoir!
If you know the classic Michael or Michael for Men and try this insipidness, you’ll be crying. As I love the previous ones, I was thrilled when I saw it in store, and the disgust was immense the moment I sprayed it. I waited to see if a miracle would happen during its development, but it was a futile hope. I don’t know how long it lasts because I rushed to wash it off where I’d worn it. It’s not just that it has little personality and is bland, but that it arrives 12 years late to the Invictus and co. wave, which are already quite tedious. If they had kept the others, it might have been forgivable, but with it being the only male reference left, this house is going into the box of disappeared fragrances. Au revoir!
Fresh and masculine, perfect for summer or spring. Leaves a light trail; it’s salty and sweet with marine notes.
I love it; it’s fresh, masculine and perfect for summer or spring. It leaves a light trail, but it’s salty and sweet at the same time, with that marine touch I was looking for.
