Does anyone who owns it know if it has good longevity and what it smells like, or what it resembles? I’m planning to buy it online as I can’t find it in physical stores. Thanks.
A blind buy that turned out to be a total letdown. It’s a floral fragrance pretending to be fruity, yet it contains no fruit. At first, the narcotic smell of tuberose is clear, with neroli and gardenia. However, alongside them, a blend of peony and violet gives it a raspberry-neroli touch. In the base, excessive patchouli and a union of sandalwood and woods create a milky, cold sensation, not very sweet, with a very familiar medicinal smell. To me, it reminds me of Aura by Swarovski without the pink pepper, or Radiance by Britney Spears, though Radiance leans more towards wild berries and I prefer both. Ultimately, it smells like a cough syrup called Bisolvon. As often happens when something doesn’t please, the sillage and longevity are huge, lasting over seven hours on me. It has good presence. Suitable for autumn and winter days or spring evenings. The bottle is the same as the original, though the liquid is pink. I think they aimed to create a pink aroma reminiscent of current trends, using white flowers and tuberose as references instead of blackberries, raspberries, and forest fruits. The price is ridiculous; you can find it online for 11€ for 100ml. If you’re considering a blind buy and like these notes, you can risk it as you won’t lose much. As for its title… I assure you, I still haven’t cracked its meaning. I wouldn’t want to think New York smells like this at night. In any case, we’d find ourselves in quarantine due to a flu epidemic.
Bought blind and it was a complete letdown. It’s floral but lacks any fruitiness, featuring tuberose and gardenia that give it a narcotic touch. Peony and violet add an African neroli-like raspberry note, while patchouli, sandalwood, and base woods create a milky, cold, medicinal sensation reminiscent of Bisolvon. It reminds me of Swarovski Aura without the pepper, or Britney’s Radiance, though I prefer both. The trail and longevity are enormous, lasting over seven hours. It has presence, ideal for autumn, winter, or spring nights. The bottle matches the original but the liquid is pink; it seems like a failed attempt to mimic fruity scents with white flowers. Ridiculous price; you can find it online for €11 for 100ml. If you like these notes, take a risk as you won’t lose much. The title makes no sense; I don’t think New York smells like this at night, but rather that we were in quarantine with the flu.
This perfume boils down to neroli, neroli, and jasmine. I was keen to try it because I adore the classic Vanderbilt, and finding Minuit à New York in a physical store at such a bargain price was irresistible. I will definitely use it, but I expected something else. I only smell neroli and jasmine from start to finish, with a heavy emphasis on the neroli. It feels spring-like (perhaps due to the floral overload) and suitable for daytime. It smells nice, like a bouquet of neroli and jasmine dusted with a tiny amount of sugar that goes almost unnoticed, but it’s too floral for my taste. The description lists it as Oriental Floral, but I’d classify it 100% floral; I don’t see the oriental side. It’s nothing like the wonder Sophia Grojsmann created with her brother, Vanderbilt. Another detail I don’t quite like, mentioned in a previous review, is the lack of a New York connection unless Central Park is full of neroli and jasmine at dusk, spreading its scent across the city… I hope to check this out one day.
Since I saw it, I jumped at the chance. I love the classic Vanderbilt and this hasn’t disappointed. It’s a classic floral, slightly exaggerated at first by that sweet red berry note, somewhat synthetic. The vanilla that dominates the original isn’t here, but I don’t miss it as it gives it its own character. Soon it softens, giving way to a beautiful, enveloping, and warm floral scent. It feels innocent and positive, yet has something sophisticated. The price is a laugh, 9.99€ for 100ml. It smells better than other new perfumes from legendary houses that cost eight times as much. Sillage and longevity are good so far.

It’s a more modern take on the original Vanderbilt, but the patchouli and sandalwood feel heavy to me. The sillage is good, the scent itself rates 4/10, longevity 8/10, and trail 8/10. Value for money is 9/10, versatility 5/10, and packaging 7/10. I didn’t buy it, so I wouldn’t.
A modern take on the original Vanderbilt that barely resembles it. The patchouli and sandalwood are overpowering. Good longevity, 4/10 for the scent itself, 8/10 for lasting power, 8/10 for sillage, 9/10 for value for money, 5/10 for versatility and 7/10 for packaging. Would I buy it again? No, I didn’t even purchase it.
It’s a beautiful floral perfume with neroli jasmine and a woody warm dry down. For the price it has it’s a gem of a perfume with very good longevity and an incredible sillage. I find it more for the evening and late afternoon 10/10.

I was pleasantly surprised by this perfume. I bought it for the excellent price and dared to buy it blind based on the notes; I must say I don’t like the original Vanderbilt – my mother-in-law wears it and it doesn’t suit me at all and it bears no resemblance to this one. On my skin it smells almost exactly like L’Interdit (which I adore) at an unbeatable price with surprising longevity though it’s by no means invasive so I’ll keep buying it. Excellent value for money.
What a good surprise honestly. For the price what sillage and what longevity. It smells very floral; I don’t notice much of the oriental or wood notes. It’s elegant simple and versatile except I don’t see it for the evening. I’ll definitely repurchase.
It took me a while to decide after trying the awful original Gloria Vanderbilt but the price was a hit. I don’t understand why a brand uses the same bottle for totally different perfumes and this is the case. Fortunately it has nothing to do with the original. To my nose it’s fruity-floral although it doesn’t contain fruit. It goes well anywhere formal or informal but it has a serious touch better suited to women aged 30 to 45. It serves for day or night but I wouldn’t wear it in excessive heat so not for summer.
A woody white floral for winter and formal occasions. The amber and talc accord are very noticeable, giving it a vintage touch that doesn’t bother. In mine, the sweet neroli and sandalwood stand out. It lasts quite well on skin and the price is a gift. A perfume with the 3 Bs.
I find the opening fresh and lovely but after a while some synthetic and brash red fruit notes appear; for my taste that intensity softens and becomes what predominates on my skin until it fades away completely.
White floral with wood ideal for winter and formal events. The amber and powdery touch give it a vintage air without being annoying; here sweet neroli and sandalwood dominate. It lasts a long time on the skin and the price is a gift. It has the 3 Bs.
I had reservations about buying it blind but I was fascinated by the scent; very sexy. I detect an opening of red fruits floral with a strong patchouli but not overwhelming – perfect for an afternoon or evening out a date. I feel that if I need to reapply at three hours I can still smell it on my clothes though not on my skin. Very good purchase.
What a surprise! I put it on immediately because I had a meal and, in a rush, forgot my usual perfume, feeling a bit naked, so I had no choice but to go to a local chemist to see what was available :P… among Shakiras, Pachas, Victorios, and Lucchinos… this was the one that seemed most appropriate and formal. It’s pure floral, with jasmine and neroli highlighted, though it’s not that powdery style of the traditional Vanderbilt; this is more wearable. Still, I don’t think it will please everyone due to that vintage touch, perhaps a bit of “lacquer residue” as Dame de Noir said, but I love that smell XD. It also smells of red berries, I don’t know where they come from as they aren’t in the pyramid, but well… it’s a more than correct fragrance in terms of quality and price, feels elegant, lasted until the end of the day, and with just two sprays I smelled it for quite a while. Definitely, a highly recommended purchase.
What a surprise! I put it on because I had a meal and in my rush forgot to wear one of mine leaving me feeling a bit naked so I had no choice but to pop into a local chemist to see what was available :P… and of everything there: Shakiras Pachás Victorios and Lucchinos… this was the one that seemed most suitable/formal. It’s exclusively floral highlighting jasmine and neroli though it’s not as powdery as the traditional Vanderbilt; this is more wearable. Still I don’t think it will appeal to everyone as it does have a certain vintage touch perhaps a bit of lacquer residue as Dame de Noir said but I absolutely love that scent XD. It’s also true that it reminds me slightly of red berries which I can’t place as they aren’t in the pyramid but anyway… a very good quality-price perfume feels elegant lasted until the end of the day and with two sprays I could smell it for quite a while. Without a doubt a highly recommended purchase.
Simply love this fragrance. To me it smells of lily-of-the-valley and Coca-Cola then the neroli comes through. It’s super floral yet very oriental. Original with personality and 90s nostalgia. The longevity is quite good the sillage isn’t too strong. The price is ridiculous – a real bargain. And certainly it’s a loud perfume so best for winter autumn and evening. It’s very special; it transports me not to New York but to the East. 💖
I love this fragrance. To me, it’s lily of the valley and Coca-Cola, then I catch the neroli. It’s extremely floral but also very oriental. Original, with personality, and reminiscent of the 90s. Longevity is quite good, sillage not too pronounced. The price is negligible, a marvel. And certainly, it’s a loud perfume, so recommended for winter, autumn, and evening. It’s very special. It transports me not to New York, but to the East.
Respecting all opinions it doesn’t feel balanced to me. I gave it a chance by wearing it with my Vanderbilt Classic which I will always have even if I own a million other perfumes some ten times more expensive. In the end I threw it in the bin.
