  • Ideal to intensify certain perfumes that also contain vanilla as an olfactory note, among others =)

  • It is vanilla and nothing but vanilla. From the entire Monogotas line, which is very economical and popular here in Spain, this is the only one I like and I think it is an excellent option for girls and teenagers who usually enjoy sweet fragrances. I don’t like these aromas on my own skin, but I absolutely do not dislike smelling it around me.

  • I love vanilla in every sense!! My friend from Europe brought it to me along with the Mora one… they are brilliant for after a shower…

  • A staple in my daily routine for all year round, except during the hottest summer days. It is sweet, tender, with a touch of powdery nuance. It is an adorable and delicious perfume. I detect a custard or vanilla dessert scent; it feels very much like a bakery vanilla. The longevity and sillage are quite good. If you like sweet, dessert-inspired perfumes, this is a great option for everyday wear. I love it.

  • A staple for all seasons, except on the hottest days. It’s sweet, tender, with a slightly starchy note. Smells like custard or vanilla pudding, very much like a bakery treat. The longevity and sillage are quite good. If you enjoy sweet, gourmand scents, this is a great everyday option. I absolutely love it.

  • Very well-crafted vanilla, with sugar and a bakery feel, yet genuine vanilla once the initial alcohol scent fades. For the price, you can’t ask for more. Very good, as they say, for blending, but also excellent on its own. Incredible longevity.

This cologne has no mystery; it delivers exactly what it promises: pure, solid vanilla. The price is a laugh, and the quality is more than acceptable. It boasts excellent longevity and sillage, lasting days on clothes and outperforming many perfumes with astronomical price tags. One of the best supermarket perfumes I have ever tried.

Monogotas de Vanilla is a simple, unpretentious fragrance offering a direct scent that you might just love. The vanillin note is slightly sharp at first, but within a minute it softens considerably. You can also detect almond and caramel notes throughout its evolution. When blended with fruity, citrus, and floral notes, it stands out and becomes very appealing. It has a fairly oily texture; while it doesn’t leave a massive trail, it lingers on the skin for many hours. If you enjoy vanilla and almond scents and are looking for something affordable, you can’t go wrong.

As a man, I have to say I love this fragrance, even for myself. I use it many times as a room freshener, but I also wear it as a perfume when I’m in a sweet mood. I have read on some forums, not here, that people say it is ‘only for women’ and that men shouldn’t wear it, and I must show my total disagreement. I defend the male right to smell like vanilla. I don’t believe vanilla is a gendered scent, and a perfume with such a pronounced single note shouldn’t be either. There are other vanilla perfumes that feel much more feminine (the Eroski one, the Carrefour one, the Sephora one, etc.), but this one, with such a sweet scent, for me, fully enters unisex territory. When I have worn it, no one has told me it ‘smells like a woman’; on the contrary, I have received compliments. Therefore, it is a perfume that, due to its quantity and always its price, stays in my collection.

Strong alcohol scent at first, but less than other fragrances in the line like the blackberry or coconut ones. It’s a sweet scent without reaching the extreme sweetness of the coconut monogotas and has less longevity and trail than that one. It’s ideal if you don’t like the coconut sweetness so much, although personally I prefer the coconut one. The vanilla is intense at first but fades, leaving a simpler fragrance after 30-45 minutes without the vanilla being clearly discernible. In the first half-hour, it reminds you of vanilla custard with a small, slightly almond-like caramel touch, but it is very soft and almost imperceptible. A very good option compared to other more expensive fragrances with more artificial touches, thanks to its low price and more natural scent, although of course it doesn’t reach a real vanilla smell. They have changed the monogotas format; now they come in 100ml instead of 70ml and the design has changed to include an artistic reproduction of a vanilla pod and flower; the cap is now black across the entire line.

  • Geno Guerrero

Of the monogotas, this is my favourite. It has a vanilla scent with a light synthetic opening, but on the skin it smells phenomenal. Despite its sweetness, it is not usually intense or bothersome. It smells exactly like the Listón Rojo (Mexico) vanilla essence used to prepare desserts. High fixation and acceptable trail.

  • ShiseidoTactics

As all the reviews say: Vanilla, vanilla and more vanilla. For a lover of this note, it is highly recommended. Regarding the price, as I am not familiar with costs and the brand is not sold in my country (Venezuela), I will not comment. In terms of both aroma and performance, it is a more than acceptable fragrance.

  • Unbeatable quality/price. Many times better than other vanillas that cost ten times more and have a synthetic scent that turns people off. It’s a powdery vanilla that can suit perfectly those who don’t usually like this note. A fine, delicate talc with a certain caramel-like touch.

  • Anfítrite

Strong at first, but then softens to smell like very industrial vanilla custard. It’s a synthetic vanilla scent, but honestly, it may be on par with many more expensive perfume vanillas, as natural vanilla seems difficult to recreate. From the reviews, it seems it could appeal to vanilla lovers, industrial or not. Surely, for the price, there’s no risk. Edit: Very good longevity! With a single spray on my hand, it lasted over 8 hours despite me washing my hands several times. Also, I like it more now that it’s almost discontinued. Interesting…

  • Hello! This monogotas opens up very sweet, with that chemical note they often have, but here it’s much milder than in others like the Coco one, which smells awful at first. It just smells of vanilla, very much like a bakery treat. After 10 minutes, a slight almond and caramel aroma becomes noticeable. To me, it’s pure vanilla with caramel and a touch of ground almond, a complete dessert. Excellent value for money, ideal for daily wear, perfuming the house, or blending. It lasts eight hours with a soft sillage. I prefer the Vanille Bourbon by Yves Rocher, but regarding this monogotas, I only have good things to say. Both are good vanillas: the monogotas is sweeter and more tempting, while the Yves Rocher one is more bitter, with that hint of rum. • Hello! This monogotas opens very sweet with that typical chemical touch of the line, but here it is much softer than the coconut one, which smells awful at first. It only smells like vanilla dessert. As gotia79 says, it reminds you of a dessert with lots of vanilla. After 10 minutes, you notice a slight almond and caramel aroma, as casablanca77 mentions. For me, it’s pure vanilla with caramel and a hint of ground almond. A complete dessert! Very good value for money, ideal for daily wear, perfuming the house, or mixing with other fragrances. Lasts 8 hours with a soft trail after the opening. Personally, I prefer Yves Rocher’s Vanille Bourbon, but of this monogotas I only have good things to say. Both are top vanillas: the monogotas is sweeter and more appetising, while the Yves Rocher feels more like vanilla with a bitter note and that rum-like alcoholic touch. • Smells like vanilla biscuit at first, which is quite strong. I gave it to my sister and it suits her well; she’s 15 and loves it.

  • Simple but I absolutely adore it. Smells like vanilla custard and is one of the best budget options available. I love applying Mercadona’s vanilla cream before the perfume; it lasts longer and smells fantastic. For the price, it’s worth every penny; I always buy it when I run out.

  • Direct and effective gourmand! Smells like vanilla custard, like a body spray but at bargain prices. The opening is potent, so spray it from a distance for perfection, or mix it with other fragrances to give them a vanilla twist. 🍰 10/10!!!

  • Perfumesjuveniles

I don’t understand why the reformulation isn’t discussed; I believe it was the only one in perfumery to improve a fragrance rather than worsen it. It smells of vanilla with a touch of alcohol; the trail isn’t the best but it lasts a very long time. I put it on my pyjamas yesterday to test it and just put it on tonight and it still smells, faintly but truly it smells and you can feel it. To me, it smells like a mix of custard and crème catalana. Everyone comments that it smells synthetic and yes, it does smell synthetic, but much less than super-sweet perfumes like Fantasy or Pink Sugar, which I also own and are super synthetic. For the little it costs, it’s worth it; it also lasts quite a while on the skin.

I don’t understand why no one talks about the reformulation; I believe it was the only time in perfumery a fragrance was improved rather than worsened. It smells of vanilla with a slight alcoholic touch; the sillage isn’t the best, but it lasts a very long time. I wore it yesterday in my pyjamas, and now tonight it still lingers, faintly, but it truly smells and feels there. To me, it smells like a mix of custard and crème catalana. Everyone comments that it smells synthetic, and yes, it does smell synthetic, but much less than super-sweet perfumes like Fantasy or Pink Sugar, which I also own and those are extremely synthetic. Given how little it costs, it’s worth it; it also lasts quite a while on the skin.

  • It’s a strong but synthetic vanilla scent, lasts many hours when worn, and is perfect for combining with other perfumes. I don’t like perfumes without vanilla, so I usually mix it with oriental or woody scents to give them a touch. You can’t ask for more at this price; it seems very fair. I hope they don’t reformulate it again because it’s very good now. The truth is the bottle doesn’t last long because for daily use, it offers so much value.

  • anamaestracorreo

It smells of vanilla candle. There are other fragrances of this type much better crafted, such as Kayali 28 or Accident à la Vanille…

  • LorenaLorelay

I already have the vanilla gel and have grown to like it, so the next step was buying the monogotas. It’s a simple, sweet vanilla, like those dessert flavourings; after half an hour, it becomes slightly woody. It’s very good for 4 euros. It serves for layering, perfuming clothes, or if you’re a vanilla lover, it’s worth it. There isn’t much complexity; it’s just vanillin in a spray.

  • It’s the cologne my grandmother used, which is why I hold it in such high regard. I prefer other vanillas where the scent is more refined, but it’s not bad for its price. It lasts quite a while on the skin and, above all, on clothes.

  • aliciaouteiralf

I love it. I never used the old version, but this reformulation I like much more. For 4 euros, if you like vanilla, you have a cologne that lasts quite a while and makes an impression. I put it on and for a while it smells not just on the skin but with some trail. On clothes, it lasts all day and on the skin about 4 hours. Being so cheap, I use it at home, for mixing (I love it with Si by Armani and Black Opium), or for going out for a walk. It does smell of alcohol at first, but it lasts only seconds. I wish the other Mercadona colognes performed as well, because the others last a mere sigh.

  • Pilar_Ternera

What an economical, simple, and comforting fragrance. The latest version of Mercadona’s vanilla monogotas is vastly improved. It still has an alcoholic opening, but it disappears in seconds and the scent lingers, almost all day on my skin (the previous version wasn’t there after 3 hours). I use it at home, for informal outings, or for layering. It reminds me of the smell of those pre-made flans, like Flan Potax or Flan Flanín. Ideal for cold autumn and winter days.

  • AnaísLpez96

On its own, this fragrance doesn’t captivate me; it’s too sweet and childish. However, it’s perfect for layering. I have so many bottles that it’s become routine: I apply vanilla cream after my shower and it’s the ideal base to mix with This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire, The Only One by D&G, Good Girl Supreme… The best combo is Libre Intense by YSL with vanilla monogotas. Give it a try. It leaves no trail and lasts less than 4 hours, functioning more as a mist or body splash.

  • anapolitana26

I used to wear this at school and remember it with fondness; I reckon almost everyone in Spain has had one. Although I now seek other scents, it remains a great option for everyday wear. It’s a sugary, warm vanilla, like a freshly baked cake. It lasts 2-3 hours on the skin and a little longer on clothes. The price is unbeatable.

  • The first thing you notice is a burst of alcohol, but it vanishes instantly, leaving only that pure, delicious vanilla. It doesn’t offer any other notes to me; it’s 100% vanilla. On the skin, it lasts a mere sigh, about 15 minutes, but on clothes, it lingers for days with a very soft trail.
